RE: The importance of meta keywords
Hi Pashmina and thank you for your answer. I wanted to make sure of this before I go ahead and delete the Meta keywords from our products. Just one final comment though, I went on Amazon and saw that they are in fact still using them. If you look at the source view of the new Kindle on Amazon.co.uk this is what you see:

Why are they continuing to bother with the meta keyword tag if it has no SEO benefit?
Thanks again!

The importance of meta keywords
Hello,
I am looking into Meta keywords in the attempt to understand their importance. I have been reading about this in several blogs and get the feeling that the general view is that they are no longer very valuable. Some say it is because Google and Bing no longer use them, that in terms of SEO they carry little importance and that they are a great indicator to your competitors about which keywords you believe are important...
My question is this:
Without Meta keywords, how do you deal with misspelt search keywords on your website? For example, if you were looking for a product called 'El Mundo en Espa_ñ_ol' but spelt it using the normal 'n' instead of the Spanish 'ñ', and the keyword 'Espanol' was not included in the Meta keywords, would you still find the product? English speaking people commonly search without the ñ because this is more convenient to them. So how can I make sure that the page is optimised for these type of common misspellings?
Thanks!!!

Search Engine Blocked by Robot Txt warnings for Filter Search result pages--Why?
Hi,
We're getting 'Yellow' Search Engine Blocked by Robot Txt warnings for URLS that are in effect product search filter result pages (see link below) on our Magento ecommerce shop. Our Robot txt file to my mind is correctly set up i.e. we would not want Google to index these pages. So why does SeoMoz flag this type of page as a warning? Is there any implication for our ranking? Is there anything we need to do about this? Thanks.
Here is an example url that SEOMOZ thinks that the search engines can't see.

Below are the current entries for the robot.txt file.

Ecommerce web site with too many internal links
Hi,
We're using Magento CE 1.4.0.1 for our ecommerce web site with a fairly flat navigation system i.e. 9 major categories display across the top menu that when you roll over display 2-20 sub categories (which take you to a groups of similar products) and then individual product pages. The categories and sub categories are available to click on as part of a dynamic Html menu system on each page. Each page also shows a small number of related products. This linking structure seems fairly standard and yet Seomoz throws up the error message, "Too Many On-page links" for most pages on our site. Do I need to really worry about this? Is there much can be done to improve this on an ecommerce web site with a large catalogue of products? I've looked at the Knowledge Base but I don't feel the existing responses adequately address the issue for ecommerce sites.
Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
