Thanks so much for helping me out on this! That makes a lot of sense. Getting with my developer to check on the redirects!

Dramatic Increase in referrals from own website
The past few weeks I've been wracking my brain to figure out why on earth my branded searches could be dropping off at 30-40%. Well today, I realize I've had a dramatic increase in referrals from my own site (the non www verison). I'm talking 150 in March of last year to 5k in March of this year drastic. My 301 redirects haven't changed as far as I know -- I've had them set to redirect from the non www. to the www. for at least a year or two. I'm assuming visitors from search engines are somehow getting the non www version and the redirect is attributing the traffic to referrals instead of search. The drop in search traffic and the increase in referral traffic fall on the same day.
Does that sound right/possible? If so, how do I fix this? My traffic stats for two clients are all screwy because of this. I want to make sure whatever solution I implement won't hurt my search traffic numbers any more
Has anyone else seen this happen recently? I could imagine an anomaly with one site but I find it odd that it could be two client sites. I still have some others to check.
Thanks in advance!

Only 1 Page Being Crawled
I have a website I'm tracking www.alhi.com. But my report is saying that only 1 page is being crawled each update. My campaign is set up for the sub domain www.alhi.com, so I'm not sure why I would have this issue. Can you help? Thanks!

RE: Search engines have been blocked by robots.txt., how do I find and fix it?
When I search their brand name, they pop up in Google, so they must be indexed somehow, no?

Search engines have been blocked by robots.txt., how do I find and fix it?
My client site royaloakshomesfl.com is coming up in my dashboard as having Search engines have been blocked by robots.txt, only I have no idea where to find it and fix the problem. Please help! I do have access to webmaster tools and this site is a WP site, if that helps.

RE: Contacted by an SEO company..
Yes, very. Without considering the SEO side of it, I would be hesitant to upload anyone's files to my server. Considering SEO, though they claim it, I would research whether the links you would be receiving would be of any quality or relevance. Ultimately you want to build diverse, quality back link profiles - those that stand the test of time and Google's algorithm changes. Secondly, I know they said one link, but really how do you know what sites/links you are giving credit to? I'm not the most technical SEO, but speaking from experience, they could be hiding a lot in that file they want you to add to your site.
I had an experience with one of my wordpress sites a few months back where all of the sudden we were receiving impressions for keywords with "art" in them. This was not a site at all related to art. After doing some digging, I simply did a "view source" of my homepage code and found 200+ links hidden on my site all with anchor text including random art related key phrases. I still don't know how that file got uploaded to my wordpress site, but I finally found it and removed it.

RE: Adding Wordpress On Separate Server w/ subdomain = SEO Issues?
I'm trying to decide the exact same thing - but less because of performance and more because our server cannot handle the most updated version of wordpress. It seems like keeping the blog on the main domain is best for SEO. Better for gathering incoming links, ect.
Are there any benefits at all to keeping the blog on a subdomain?

RE: Best approach to launch a new site with new urls - same domain
Hi there,
I was just reading this old thread to get some info, but I'd love it if you could share you actual results from the launch. What did you do and how much did traffic change? How long before you were back to normal?
I usually find that with a new website and all new URLs, I end up seeing maybe a month or sodip in traffic that can be up to 10%. But that seems to be less and less as time goes on. The search engines are usually on top of it though, they recrawl and recatalog quite quickly.
Would love to hear from you.
Thanks!

Has there been a change in the Competitive Domain Analysis?
I've noted the total number of links has dropped drastically on multiple reports. Is there something new in the Competitive Domain Report or is it really just my clients? Also I've noticed that all of my clients have seen slight decreases in MozTrust - is this related to your reports analysis of panda?
Thanks!!

RE: Are (ultra) flat site structures better for SEO?
What if your site is a large ecommerce site? I'm working with someone who just had their site rebuilt and none of their pages fall into a hierarchy category>category options> product. You go to the category page and then when you go to another, your url extension is completely unique. Is this going to hurt them in the long run?
Keep I'm already having them change some of the URLs because they are useless extensions that don't match the pages and are no good for SEO that way.
Should they seriously consider restructuring too?
Thanks!
