Originally, Dr. Florez hails from Cali, Colombia. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at the Universidad del Cauca. In preparation for her career, Dr. Florez enrolled at the Universidad del Valle’s residency program for Pathology. Dr. Florez studied towards her specialty in clinical and anatomic pathology. While in the residency program, she was named chief resident twice.
