Thanks Masoko,
Great advice, would you be willing to share a freelancer recommendation to me via private message? Always good to get a recommendation of someone with first hand experience

Hi there guys and Girls,
I am a newbie to the seo world but learning quickly. Unhappy with seo services offered for startups I have taken on the role myself for my website. I think so much of what can be learnt online here I can implement myself with a few hours of work each week. So my dilemma! I have lots of ideas of for content which i know will be valuable and I was considering outsourcing just for link building (the long haul work) The trouble is I am wary of who to use and if such service is out there? I have tried searching on o'desk and freelancer etc but I guess i am too frightened of spammy links or postings on irrelevant sites.
I guess initially I am looking for someone who can help my link building campaign whilst I build up my own blogging contacts etc. Does anyone know if these types of services exist? and if any are recommended for small companies?
Thanks
Michelle
Thanks Highland,
I am pretty sure non of my links are from link farms and so by the sounds of things I should be ok with leaving what has already been done.
Hey everyone,
So i have a site which I had previous seo work on over the years, none of which was successful for me. Now that I have taken over the seo work, I am analyzing my old links I have a certain amount of links from what I would see are "crappy" seo sites and I wondered if I need to try and remove them. Here are a few examples.

How do I check if google has penalized me for these links and should I start removing them?
ThanksMichelle
Hey Nakul,
Thanks I am relatively new to SEO, but quickly learning :). I have a plan to create good content on my site blog, but also to outreach for links by guest blogging. Non of my competitors have blogs etc, but I guess even if I have great content i need people to see it and in turn create back links? I have been advised to steer clear of submitting articles and listing my domain on directories, which seems to be the original link building process the companies who did my SEO previously. Should I completely count out directory listings and submitting articles?
Also do you recommend any ways to get my content from my blog out there, other than twitter and Facebook etc?
Many Thanks
Michelle
Hi everyone,
I am starting my link building campaign after parting with many an SEO company. I have been able to establish some links which I have used my targeted keywords as anchor text. I have also linked these to the relevant product pages on my site. I am now however, wondering if I should have link them just to my main domain name? My site only has a rank of 21 so I just wondered if I should at the start be building keyword links to the main domain?
I am also building branded links to the main domain as well as doing keyword linking too.
Thanks
Michelle
Hey Jesse, Thanks its good to know. I was just a little un nerved by what my research showed, but I guess your right if i get things right now It should be future proof!
Thanks for putting my mind at ease
Thanks Egol, I thought so i just wanted to check. I too am writing a blog and adding info about my products which I think customers will be interested to read. Thanks so much for your advice.
Hey guys,
The site i am working on is not necessarily in a totally niche market, however when I analyze the links that the competitors have for our target keywords all that I see is pr releases, article submissions and predominately directory listings. I am still learning SEO so bare with me, but I was going to start my campaign trying to guest blog and provide good content on well ranked sites. I was hoping my competitors link building campaigns would give me an insight as to where to go? I am now wondering if I am taking the right route. A little re-assurance would go a long way
Hey,
Yeah my webmaster is already set to focus on UK visitors
Hi Oliver,
Thanks for all those tips, I think I am going to implement them now. I am re-starting my link building strategy so will try and and get some more .co.uk links.
Unfortunately I don't own the .co.uk or that would have been a great shout!
Thanks for your help!
Hey Cody, My server is now in the UK as of about 4 weeks ago. Originally it was in the USA. Do you think now i have changed I will get most UK traffic and not as much US?
Hi there, I have a site www.nut-job.com and I am currently getting more traffic from the USA than uk. Is there anyway of not getting listed in the USA and telling google that the site is a UK site?
Hi everyone,
I have a site, which I have re-built on a temporary domain, so that my main ecommerce site can still run.. I have noticed that google has already crawled my temporary domain. The only problem is I now want to transfer the new site back onto its proper domain (www.ourbrand.com). I have changed some of the URL structures of the new site so realize I will need to do re-directs relating to the same domain, but will google get confused that another domain used to have my new website on?
I don't plan on using the old temporary domain again and wondered if I need to tell google in some way it was used just to build my site on?
