In 2009, musician and entrepreneur Carl Williams set to work on a project that had been on the back-burner for years. To put together a show featuring 2 piano entertainers and a drummer where the entertainers took audience requests and performed them live on the spot. He put together a website and started to make some calls.
It took a few months before the first booking came in, but as soon as it did, he and his father built 2 wooden piano shells from plywood. Carl called around to find a suitable entertainer and a drummer, borrowed some PA equipment and before long was performing at the first PianoFactor Duelling Pianos gig. The event was a success and a couple of new bookings came off the back of this first gig.
Looking back Carl say's "It was by no means the show it is today - but It was the gig that started it all!". Since then Carl's drummer Tom Toggle has played a huge part in the running of the business and the concept has developed into a streamlined and truly exceptional show, with PianoFactor performing at around 100 events each year.
