Hello, I am working on a parallax site that also has an internal landing page structure. The homepage includes snippets of the existing copy from some of the other internal pages. My question is what can I do to the homepage to prevent duplicate content in this situation? We aren't utilizing the entire landing page on the homepage just a few lines. Would it be possible to place a 'no-index, follow' tag on these sections? Thanks in Advance

Let's say I have a link coming into my domain like this http://www.mydomain.com/l/freerol.aspx?AID=674&subid=Week+2+Freeroll&pid=120 Do you think Google recognizes this as paid link?  These links are follow links.   I am working on a site that has tons of these, but ranks fairly well.  They did lose some ranking over the past month or so, and I am wondering if it might be related to a recent iteration of Penguin.  These are very high PR inbound links and from a number of good domains, so I would not want to make a mistake and have client get affiliates to no follow if that is going to cause his rankings to drop more. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello guys, One of our clients is planning to have a new landing page for any users hitting the site for the first time. (returning users will still see the current homepage based on cookies ... in other words, the site would technically have 2 home pages). According to this client, they are planning to do something like this: https://www.websitename.com/ (for returning visitors) https://www.websitename.com/newuser (for first time visitors) Our instinct is that is not great to have 2 home pages (that would affect the SEO campaign we are managing for this company) and we are not sure how to handle this. That's why we would appreciate your opinion regarding this topic: From an SEO perspective, do you think this is a good idea? If not, what would you guys do differentiate first-time visitors vs returning visitors without affecting SEO? Maybe just a pop-up? Thanks in advance for your help !

Hello everyone, I have a quick question regarding Google Places. I have a client who operates her business in a building with multiple other businesses. This address is completely legitimate and our client provides fitness services at this location. We have asked her for a more specific location, but she does not have a suite or room #. The best we can do is the floor #, but there are other businesses on her floor as well. Would this lack of specificity affect her ability to rank in local results? There are 4 other businesses at the address. If we provide strong and relevant citations, will this be enough? Thank you and my apologies if this has been asked before. I searched the previously asked question but didn't find what i was looking for.

For link-building purposes, seemingly it was okay to post the same article to multiple sites for links in the past.  However, after the most recent Panda update our thought is that this may not be a good practice.  So the question is, how many times is okay to submit an article for link building purposes.  Should you always only submit to one site?  Is it okay to do more than once?  What is the right way to submit for link-building in Google's eyes? I am looking into signing up with www.optimizely.com for conversion testing.  They put scripting on my site which will then redirect half of my site visitors to an alternate home page.  The site I want to test on is ranking quite well with Google and I do not want to hurt my rankings. And with this set up,what Google will think is my home page is not and so I am essentially sending visitors to a different page than Google reads as my home page in source code. So, my concern is whether this will have a negative impact on my SEO rankings to redirect 50% of site visitors to a different page using this testing tool? I would use Google Web Site Optimizer, but many of my sites are in Wordpress and it seems that Wordpress and web site optimizer are not so compatible. Advice would be appreciated. Thank you, Robert
