I grew up in Lindsay, Oklahoma, the broom corn capital of the world, before studying management information systems at Oklahoma State University. I hold both undergraduate and graduate degrees from OSU.
After college I was hired by a small consulting firm in Tulsa to do financial cost modeling and database development that included projects for AT&T and Wells Fargo. I was a "data guru" and supervised the development of software that was used internally for clients.
From early childhood I had always been enamored with adventure and travel. Then a family tragedy in 2008 changed my life and path. My father was killed in a plane crash just months before I was scheduled to travel to China for a 150-mile ultra marathon endurance race in the Gobi Desert.
When I returned from the race I decided I wanted to pursue my passion for adventure. I began scouting ideas for small group trips and in 2010 I launched Bonvoy adventure travel. I had become an entrepreneur and was now learning what it took to run a start up of my own.
My business background gave me a good foundation but like any first time entrepreneur I made both good and bad decisions along the way. I studied and researched and over the years gained a wealth of knowledge I wish I had from the very beginning.
Now I am taking my entrepreneurial experience and technical background to assist small businesses. Specifically with creating an online presence. My goal is to educate, help avoid bad decisions, and create an online presence that fits within a budget.
