Thanks for the reply Mike. Once I've done that, do I need to amend anything else? I'm only asking as I'm not seeing any hits on my mobile site since implementing the new tracking... Cheers,

Setting up GA to report on sub domains
I've just launched a mobile version of my site at m.mydomain.com.
I could do with a bit of help just checking I've inserted my Google Analytics code correctly though.
I've chosen the sub domain option from settings and pasted the code into both the mobile and the non-mobile version of my sites.
However, am I right in thinking that the setDomain attribute should point to two different domains for example:
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'm.mydomain.com']); (for the mobile site)
and:
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'mydomain.com']); (for the standard site)
Thanks very much for your help!

Help with Analytics
Afternoon all - I hope someome might be able to help me getting some data out of Google Analytics.
I want to try pull a report which will show me both what the last page before a goal completion was and the country that generated the click. Is that possible at all?
When I go to look at goals, I can only pull data for the last page before the goal click ... and when I look at my goals in the Pages>Content menu, I can only view country. So is there any way of pulling the two set of data together at all?
Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
Thanks very much,
Simon

.htaccess help please
Hi there,
Can anyone let me know what I need to add to my .htaccess file to make sure that the trailing slash on my domain gets redirected to my main domain name.
For example, at the moment Google is seeing my primary domain as follows:
I thought I'd covered off all possible duplication penalities but it look as though I've still got one left!
Thanks very much for your help,

Tracking clicks from a specific link
Hi all,
I'm looking for a bit of help with Analytics. I want to track the number of clicks that my main CTA generates over the course of the month.
I've got all my goals set up correctly, but is there some sort of code that I can add to that specific link which will count the goal conversions which it generates? Do I need to set up something specific in GA?
Thanks a lot for your help,

Factoring in OBL to Open Site Explorer
Morning all - I've been using Open Site Explorer a fair bit since I signed up to SEOMoz a couple of months ago and found it to be a little different to other tools in the past, so would welcome some thoughts on what I should be looking for when I run reports.
For example, I've always thought that Outbound links should be important when deciding whether to place a link on a a particular site, but in OSE I'm only given a Page Ranking and a Domain Ranking.
Am I therefore to understand that these two factors outrank OBL and that the number of links on a page don't matter? Or have these been factored into the overall Page rank already?
Thanks a lot for your help,

Switching from synchronous to asynchronous code in GA
Morning all,
I'm looking to integrate GA with Webmasters tools but to do so I need to have the new asynchronous GA code implemented into my website.
Now, I'm happy to just copy and paste the new code into my site footer, but will that any effect on the data that I've already tracked? Is there any reason why this is really not a good idea?
Thanks for your help,

RE: Forcing keywords into domain structure
Hi Axel - thanks for the response.
What about if you're starting out on a new site though? Would you go with the amended URL structure or the more traditional one?

Forcing keywords into domain structure
Hi there,
Over the last few years, I've seen people structuring their site so that their main content is all housed in a folder named after the site's primary keywords.
For example, if I had some content about home insurance, normally naming conventions state that I might put the content at a URL such as:
www.mydomain.com/home-insurance
However, some sites, may change this structure to include their main keyword again in the URL string:
www.mydomain.com/insurance/home-insurance
The folder 'insurance' would normally hold the site's Sitemap to increase internal linking strategy too.
I'd be really interested to hear whether anyone has seen any serious benefits from re-structuring their site in this way? What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,

RE: Ideas for promoting some articles that have been written about me
Hi Diane - I'm not quite sure whether these articles have links pointing back to your site or not but one popular way of promoting them would be to have a section on your homepage where you can list the various publications that your site has appeared in.
If you wanted to, you could include a link to the specific article so that visitors to the site can read what other people have written for themselves. However, the main benefit of this would be to increase both the brand and trustworthiness of your own site.
It doesn't have to be particularly huge, but even a small box down one side of your site listing the logos of the various publications you've appeared in can increase conversion fairly impressively.
Hope that helps!
