RE: Should You Link Back from Client's Website?
To be honest, I doubt anyone really gets much referral business from footer links no follow or not. It clearly a way of getting authority high pr links for free.

RE: Should You Link Back from Client's Website?
Ive seen a company in Glasgow that does this to the extreme. In fact they rank for "seo glasgow" and their link profile is made up of all footer links. seo by seo glasgow and they rank well. web design by "web design glasgow" etc

What about something like : "Site design By Company Link" that is no-follow? That way you can get direct traffic but doesnt pass link juice?

Adding magento shop to webmaster tools
Hi Guys
This week is launch week so I'm just finishing off a few things ready for launch. Quick question for e-commerce guys.
When adding the new site to webmaster tools, should we be adding each store i.e trespass.com, trespass,com/us and trespass.com/row as seperate sites or one site trespass.com but with 3 xml sitemaps?
Thanks

RE: Should I disavow this Link?
Hi David,
Personally I wouldn't. It's a editorial link given without any influence from you I assume? It wasn't paid for? If it's a natural link why remove it? Is the site spammy at all?
My view is only remove links that are spammy or unnatural.

Cross domain canonical and hreflang
Hi Guys,
So we are close to launching our new site and just need to be sure that our canonical, duplicate issues are sorted before launch. So here is our current situation. The current site is on trespass.co.uk. Then new site will be on trespass.com.
The new launch is global and we will have the 3 stores within magento all in english.
Trespass.com for the UK
Trespass.com/US for US
Trespass.com/ROW for all other countriesOn trespass.com we have the following:
On trespass.com/US we have the following:
On trespass.com/ROW we have the following:
This is how the magento developers.design company have set it up but am I right in saying the canonical tag for each store (/ROW and /US) should point to Trespass.com as the only difference is in the pricing £ $ and euros?
Thanks for your help

RE: E-commerce worldwide sub domains or folders
i think its folders. Need to make a decision today so folders it is. I know theres pros and cons to folders, sub domains and even seperate tlds.
Only in the UK I bet haha next year will be worldwide
Cheers

RE: E-commerce worldwide sub domains or folders
I did mention that but essentially that would make link building to thousands of sites if we were targeting every country in europe etc.
Having subfolders would help to build authority on one domain as opposed to across mutliple domains.
Multiple tlds for each country isnt anoption as its expensive and time consuming. With folders I believe is the 2nd best option and using certain modules, rel="alternate" hreflang="x" would work well
Thanks for your reply

E-commerce worldwide sub domains or folders
Hi Guys,
We currently only sell to the UK so its pretty easy to manage our seo etc.
However we are building a new site on Trespass.com and will be using magento enterprise. We will be serving the UK, US and the rest of the world.
Does anyone here have experience with this? Is it best to have sub domains ie. UK.trespass.com, US.trespass.com?
Or folders Trespass.com/uk Trespass.com/de Trespass.com/US
Thanks guys

RE: Keywords under product listing pages
H Mat,
I'm gonna leave it alone and keep the current format as it works well. Guess I'll have to wait and see what updates Google has in store and cross that bridge when it happens.
I agree that the on page tools aren't exactly accurate. In fact I once questioned this and got no response. I think over optimisation for a page targeting 1 specicific keyword is easy to do if you follow everything in the on page report.
Still loving moz though
Haha are you a fan of trespass then? You should check out Nevisport.com which is also owned by trespass. Big brands at great prices.
Kind regards

RE: Local Search for Multiple Locations
Hi Gaz,
yes you would need a seperate listing for each location. We have 136 of them lol
Each has its own landing page (only updated since i joined trespass 2months ago) as all listings pointed to the home page. Now each listing points to a landing page/store info page.

RE: Local Search for Multiple Locations
Hi Gaz,
As the local search results are based on "local businesses" it's important to have a physical presence in that area like an office, or a virtual office.
In the past I've used a virtual office with a forwarding service and it still works. The important thing is you have a presence in that city, have good quality citations, and real reviews.
Kind regards

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
