John Bassette has 30 years' experience as a real estate broker in the Woodstock Vermont area and neighboring New Hampshire. He is the owner and Principal Broker of John Bassette Real Estate and has owned or managed three successful real estate companies and a large scale vacation rental business - catering to short, mid, and long term rental needs. He is well acquainted with the requirements of second home purchasers, vacation home ownership and is an expert adviser. He is technically savvy, and a great listener and client advocate. Recent sales include numerous multi-million dollar transactions in the Woodstock area. John sells the gamut from uber high-end luxury homes to primary homes for first time home buyers.

Over his long career in VT & NH real estate, John has successfully guided clients through hundreds of real estate transactions. He has his Graduate Realtor Institute Certification (GRI), his Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), and is an exceptional client-based negotiator. John earned his BA-Psychology starting at Middlebury College and finished at the University of Vermont.

In the "Dark Ages" John was appointed to the US Ski Team and was the United States National Ski Jumping Champion (1978). He has been inducted into the US Ski Hall of Fame. He skied in the Lake Placid Olympics as the lead test jumper to make sure the hills were "safe" (read DANGEROUS)! John actively "gives back" locally and serves on the Woodstock Ski Runners Board, is a Track Coach at WUHS, and is on the Race Committee for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports – VT100 Ultra-Marathon. John is an extremely involved father of nine (9) with his lovely wife Donna-Lee and lives in Hartland Vermont. He is a fanatical skier who "loves speed", is training for the Vermont 100 Ultra-Marathon (he recently finishing the Vermont 50 Ultra-Marathon), is a big supporter of the Woodstock Union High School cross country running, track, & nordic ski teams, and is actively involved in his local church.
