Based on the keywords you gave me, I think it's actually pretty simple. I think it's because they have Google Maps integrated into some of there pages, and contact info properly integrated in the footer of every page. Overall, I would give the site a D- or lower but for those location terms, just having the map and contact info can sometimes be enough.

I'm an SEO manager for a company in Los Angeles. You can see our website here: https://opiates.com. I've been at the company for about 3 months, and in that time we've almost had our website re-done twice. It is badly in need of an overhaul in terms of design and navigation, but at the same time we can't afford to lose the organic traffic that we currently have.

Does anyone have recommendations for web development firms that can take on a BIG project and work with me to preserve the SE traffic that we currently have?

I really don't see why. There doesn't seem to be much content, it always has only decent pagespeed scores and uses a lot of blocking js which hurts user experience. Every time I loaded a new page the screen went white for a second. But i think the question has to be "climbed to the top of the SERPs for what?"

Hard to find an answer without keywords to relate it to.

Awhile back my company changed from http: to https: sitewide (before i started working here). We use a very standard rewrite rule that looks like this:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://opiates.com/$1 [R,L]

However, with this rule in place, some http: urls are being redirected with a 302 status code. My question is, can I safely change the above code to look like this:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://opiates.com/$1 [R=301,L]

to ensure that every redirected is returned with a 301 status code. The only change is in the [R,L] section. Thanks to whomever can help with this. I'm pretty sure its safe but I dont want the site to go down, even for a second, so figured I would ask first.

I am an SEO/PPC manager for a company that does a medical detox. You can see the site in question here: http://opiates.com. My question is, I've never heard of it specifically being a problem to have a different header on the home page of the site than on the subpages, but I rarely see it either. Most sites, if i'm not mistaken, use a consistent header across most of the site. However, a person i'm working for now said that she has had other SEO's look at the site (above) and they always say that it is a big SEO problem to have a different header on the homepage than on the subpages. Any thoughts on this subject? I've never heard of this before.
