So I'm aware of the importance of consistent citations, and the mayhem call tracking numbers have been known to cause in regards to that in that past. So just wanted some up to date clarification on these two things:
Local SEO isn't strictly speaking a big deal for us as we supply a software and as such are technically global. I'm presuming consistent citations are still worth aiming for though, and will help increase general authority as well? Let me know if I'm totally wrong about that!
What's the best practise set up for call tracking, given that your main NAP number you'd obviously want hardcoded somewhere, alongside showing your dynamic numbers to relevant visitors.

I have a lot of ad groups - hundreds! Without negative keywords, multiple ad groups in my campaign could trigger for the same keyword. For example, a search for crm software could trigger the following ad groups:
Ad group 1 (the ad group I want to trigger) - CRM Software
Ad group 2 - Best CRM Software
Ad group 3 - CRM Software Solutions
Ad group 4 - CRM Software for Small Business
etc.
So I handle this situation by negative keyword matching the words 'CRM Software' in ad groups 2, 3 and 4.
However, this is a very manual and laborious activity when I have 900+ keywords in my campaign, with 150+ ad groups.
Does anybody know of any tools that might automate this process, or any techniques for making the process easier and more accurate?

Yes, absolutely. If the subdomain (e.g. xyz.domain.com) was migrated, using appropriate permanent redirects, to a subdirectory (e.g. domain.com/xyz) then this would support the overall site in terms of visibility and reputation on Google

No... in my opinion
Traffic to a subdomain will not be associated with the website in general (i.e. the root domain). If the subdomain does not share navigation with the root domain then it will be treated as a standalone website by Google. A domain, sub or root, is nothing more than an address for locating a webpage.
That said, tools like Open Site Explorer will provide you with a Domain Authority at a root domain level, so use the Page Authority score at a subdomain level to understand your potential to rank and reputation.

I'm thinking republishing content from my own website's blog on platforms like LinkedIn and Medium. These sites are able to reach a far bigger (relevant) audience than I can through my own website, so there's strategic reasoning for doing this.
However, with SEO being a key activity on my own website, I don't want to be at risk of any penalties for duplicate content. However, I've just read this on Search Engine Journal:
"there is confirmation from Google... Gary Illyes has stated that republishing articles won’t cause a penalty, and that it’s simply a filter they use when evaluating sites. Most sites are only penalized for duplicate content if the site is 100% copied content."
So, what do people think - is republishing blog content, on LinkedIn and Medium safe? And is it a sound tactic to increase reach?

I'm building a new campaign for a business start-up, and search volumes with the industry are HUGE! I want to target high commercial intent keywords, to maximise the number of conversions / sales from my paid search campaigns.
Using the forecasting tool in Adwords, it looks like I can [exact match] these high commercial intent keywords and still get the click volume I'm aiming for.
Would you, therefore, use this approach - where you only match at an exact level to control the quality of traffic coming through from the paid search campaigns? I plan to achieve relevance by having ad groups broken down into clear themes with around 10 - 15 exact match keywords per ad group.
Let me know your thoughts...
