Keyword Gap 2.0 (BETA)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Keyword Gap takes a look at the primary domain you’ve input, in addition to the competitors you’ve dropped in, to understand gaps in ranking keywords and top content. Below, you can learn more about how the Keywords to Improve and Top Competing Content sections can provide information about your SERP competitors.
  • Traffic Lift will be a helpful metric in identifying and prioritizing which keywords you might want to go after (and what kind of content to create for it). Traffic Lift calculates the amount of traffic you can expect to see, if you were to overtake your competitor for that keyword. Keywords with a higher potential Lift might be ones to consider first.

Please note: Keyword Gap 2.0 is currently in beta. You may see differences between this guide and the tool itself as we continue to quickly update and evolve the tool prior to general release. Unsure what a beta is and what it means for Moz tools? Be sure to check out our What is a Beta page.
