Is it worth the $325.00 to join the BBB just to get the link?
-
Trying to build as many quality links as possible. Saw a suggestion on a recent blog to join the BBB but it cost $325.00. Is it worth it?
-
Hey, I submitted a form online and someone called me within 15 min. The area code was from my home town here in SC. I wonder if they charge by location?
-
This depends on how many people work at your business. Make yourself sound broke and tell them you only have a website and no office.

Tom, I use it in the SERPS to prove credibility. https://www.google.com/search?q=ship+overseas&pws=0
You can see that I wrote about my A+ rating right in the description. My competitors are too cheap to get it and don't see the value. Go to the website and you'll see it on nearly everypage. I use BBB for credibility. Once in a while I actually see that I make a sales from someone who came via BBB so it paid itself off.
It's not just a link; it's credibility.

I agree, I have found the BBB to be a nice one to be tied to, a wonderful resource. I had no idea pricing was so high these days!
-
Hello, that's a good deal, I think is not only the link is more about the trust the BBB provides.
Can I ask you how you get this price if you don't mind? I would like to join but I don't want to pay $500
-
you don't just get a link either. You get the value that comes from those people who see "accredited" and think it makes a business more trustworthy. And you can't get an A+ rating without accreditation.
-
I have to pay $550 for BBBOnline so you're getting a steal at $325. Make sure the $325 includes the online edition (not just the print edition). I can't say whether the backlink value was worth anything, but from messages that I've read in user forums, I do know that people bought from my site because it had the BBBOnline link so the peace of mind it offers may be worth the $325 itself.
-
I say absolutely yes if you get on a page like this:
http://www.la.bbb.org/BBB-Accredited/Find/Information-Search-Retrieval-Services-3955
that page is PR5 and the links are dofollow. Try to confirm with them the page you will be placed on before paying. I may be doing this as well.
If joining allows you to use their logo as a trust factor on your site and you are in good standing then that is an additional benefit as well.

Link Building where link building is dead. Latest tactics in a land of content.
Hello, What is your latest link building techniques considering manual link building is basically dead, and you should really build good content to drive results. Link building has really become less important. It seems to be much more 10X content now. What would you recommend for basic link building considering this besides the 50 first Links video by Rand, which is excellent. Thanks, Bob

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Link Pharming
My company has been using an SEO company for a while and have built up our pagerank to a 6. However, we have noticed that they're involved in link pharming - they're buildng extra websites and linking to our site on them. We are not happy with this as we know it will only be a matter of time before Penguin hits us. The contract with the SEO company is coming up for renewal soon and we're thinking of cancelling it. However, we are not sure if the company will delete all our backlinks, which will probably decrease our PageRank too. Has anyone here ever had a similar experience? What did the SEO company do when you cancelled the contract? Does anyone here work for an SEO company and what do you do when someone cancels your service?

What are some good easy links to get for new sites?
We are in the process of launching a couple of new sites and while we know it will be a long process to get them to rank, achieving some long-tail keywords would be beneficial. What sites would you recommend for getting some easy links to start with that can help the indexation and ranking process along in the preliminary stages? Or another way to put the question - when you launch a new site, what steps do you go through?

Link Building
I've been hearing about going after niche directories, and my question is most of them have a ton of links on any given page. Is it even worth taking the time to approach these sites knowing they won't pass a lot of link juice?
