Can a disapproved adwords ad affect SEO ranking?
-
Hi
No not used adwords before as our onsite SEO was going well - with long tail terms ranking well to product detail pages.
On Sunday we tried to set up an adwords ad as it wasgoing to be used for the forthcoming launch of a new product. - - PS Vita
I think it is being classified as a bridge page although other price comparison sites such as kelkoo and pricerunner gocompare, travelsupermarket etc all seem to get through and have ads on Google?
More interesting though is since the ad was disapproved my organic search results have disappeared? (which have all been white hat)
Coincidence perhaps or something more sinister from Google?? One for you Randfish perhaps?

No, the only reason Adwords can have somekind of an impact on Organic is when people become aware of your site and search it later using it's name. Beside that, there is no link whatsoever between Adwords and Organic.
Maybe .. Maybe if your landing page or site has a problem the Adwords Bots will report it to some team at google, but if it's the case, Googlebot would spot it some time around ... So which one did it doesn't have this much of importance.

Will do
Or could it be to do with this?
The other probable cause is the site is still quite new approx 2-3 weeks old - it started off ranking well then dropped way down for a day or two then shot back into the top 10 where it had stayed for the past week to 10 days. There has been a strong social buzz around the site so this may have influenced the ranking as well on a temporary basis?

Google disapproved ads do not effect seo rankings - Unless google found problems with your landing page and then that would effect seo and ppc because the issue is with the site itself. I would call adwords and ask them what the problem with your site is and how you can fix it.

When searching for the site is still is in the index but it has dropped like a stone when only last night it was doing really well.
They have got to be linked, but there is no reason why it should drop when some of the top 10 results are sites like below which are no different to mine?

I have heard many times that Adwords and organic SERPs are not linked in any way. I believe that in my heart.
However, my brain tells me that if Adwords detects something that it really really does not like a signal will be sent to the organic quality control.
Google has not, in my knowledge said that they do this. But if you were Google would you?

SEO Implications For a Technical Functionality Fix
Our Magento based affiliate extension is not working, due to a conflict with the Varnish caching system. Varnish has a known bug which does not allow multiple cookies to be set. Our workaround involves redirecting any request with the affiliate tracking parameter to the HTTPS version of the site. Varnish does not run on HTTPs and therefore our affiliate cookie will be set. Note: the main content of our site runs on HTTP. My SEO concern is how to handle this for the search engines. We have a few things to consider: Redirect: Should we use a 301 or 302? Canonical: It seems to make sense to include a canonical on the HTTP version of the site without the affiliate tracking parameter - right? Robots Meta Tags: "noindex, follow" or "index, follow" Am I missing something? Thanks for your time and consideration!

SEO expert for site
Hey guys, I am looking for an SEO expert for my website. I have talked to a couple different people, but since I know nothing about it, it is hard for me to get a good read on whether they know what they are talking about or not. The main keywords are in the sports betting industry, which I believe to be a highly competitive space. Any advice, suggestions, or recommendations? Thank you

Amazon Links destroyed my rankings, I removed them, will my site recover?
Hello, Last week I got the glorious idea to put amazon affiliate links on my website. I didn't put a rel=nofollow on them or deindex the pages they were on. Precisely I put some reviews and 10 different amazon links on one page and I put that into my navigation so all inner pages were linking to that page. When Google crawled my page again, I had a 60% traffic drop. 3 days later when I found out what caused this (amazon links) I completely removed the site containing those links and removed all links to that page from my site. Now my rankings are still down, will my site recover from this or is it lost? And how long would you think it'll take?

Can anyone help me find the broadband ISP affiliate program I need?
I have a couple sites that deal with broadband internet access, and I'm looking to monetize beyond adsense. I'd like to sign up for some affiliate programs from internet service providers like Charter, CenturyLink, Comcast, etc. I found a couple affiliate programs but I am having no luck at all figuring out the programs that so many other websites are involved with. In about every case, the user is able to enter in their address and then a search is performed, returning programs available at their location. The programs I've found just do the traditional ad click-throughs for a possible commission. Can anyone enlighten me what kind of programs they are using?

Casino SEO
I'm considering entering the online casino arena with an affiliate site. These keywords such as 'online roulette', 'online blackjack' are massively competitive with high page and domain authority sites on page one. Does anyone have any experience of this area and is it possible to compete in it? Apparently long tail keywords don't really convert in this area so I may have to go for these highly competitive keywords. Any thoughts?
