Links from the same server has value or not
-
Hi Guys,
Sometime ago one of the SEO experts said to me if I get links from the same IP address, Google doesn't count them as with much value. For an example, I am a web devleoper and I host all my clients websites on one server and link them back to me. Im wondering whether those links have any value when it comes to seo or should I consider getting different hosting providers?
Regards
Uds

And Google has additional ways to identify sites all related, such as everything in the same GWT account, sites having the same Google Analytics master account, etc. Doesn't mean they use it for ranking, but they have ways beyond just IP to see things are related.

Hi Uds,
I wouldn't say it's worth moving them... I suspect the links are all in the footers any way? (which pass less juice).
If you have 50 sites on one host from the same C block all linking back they are not going to pass as much juice as say 50 links from various high quality sites.

The emphasis is "as much value."
When 2 or more links are from websites hosted on the same C-Class IP address, they're often owned by the same person/company, and therefore are viewed as slightly less diverse than the same number of links from websites not hosted on the same C-Class IP address.
A C-Class IP is simply the third set of numbers in an IP address: AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD.
The only difference here is that these links are missing a bit of diversity, but they're not bad and they won't hurt you simply because of the IP address.
Regarding your clients' sites that link back to you - yes Google can tell that they're all hosted together. If you use a custom nameserver that's the same as your primary domain, you can bet they know you're related. Those links are less valuable than if those sites were all hosted on separate servers, but rather than moving all of those client sites I would look into alternative link building strategies, since footer links as credits for a web developer aren't going to be a sufficient strategy for all of your link building activity.

Google is pretty good at picking up a network on sites within the same c-class sever.
That been said think of the following methodology, if you acquire 4 links on newspaper websites on the same sever and all those links are very high authority then it will provide 4 different links all with good value.
so that been said if you can acquire 4 different site links on 4 high quality sites on the same sever it is worth it for sure.
But be wary if some one goes to you i will sell you 50 site links on 1 sever all with low authority sites I would steer clear as it is a link network.

Too many navigational links
Hi there, I have an issue with the amount of internal links on my webpages. Moz campaign manager gives a lot of 'too many on page links' issues. Over 7000.
Technical SEO | | MarcelMoz
I know the importance of a good internal linking structure. 1. Not too many internal links (over approximately 100) is good for flowing through some authority from authoritive pages.
2. Too many internal links can spend all of the 'crawler budget' so the crawlers won't crawl the complete website anymore (right?). This can cause problems with indexing new webpages (right?). This is the situation: The website is a webshop The header contains 6 links, the footer contains 32 links, the homepage contains 42 links, the body content of some category pages contains a variated amount of links from 30 to a maximum of 100 links. Product pages do contain a maximum of 25 links. There is no problem here. Now here's the problem: The website navigation is a dropdown menu that contains 167 links to tier 2. These links are very important for our visitors. They can immediately find the right category/product by it. Removing or shrinking this dropdown is not an option. But the dropdown navigation is causing all of the 'too many on page links' issues. Question: is there a SEO (indexing, PA) problem in this situation which i should solve? What should I solve and how should I solve this? Note: pages have good organic positions and authority. Thanks a lot. Marcel0 -
Google Links
I am assuming that the list presented by Google Webmaster tools (TRAFFIC | Links To Your Site) is the one that will actually be used by Google for indexing ? There seem to be quite a few links that there that should not be there. ie Assumed NOFOLLOW links. Am I working under an incorrect assumption that all links in webmaster tools are actually followed ?

Devalued links or negative affect?
Hi there, I'm looking into an issue with a site that was hit after Penguin was introduced. The site lost 70% of traffic over night. The site in question seemed to have a large number of backlinks with over optimized anchor text which seems to most likely be the reason for drop in rankings. But there is also some links from blog networks here too unfortunately, so my question here really is do Google just devalue these links and discount them from consideration in their ranking algorithm or do the links still count but instead of adding positive affects in SERPs add a negative affect? My reason for this question is I'm trying to determine whether it's worth saving this website or just starting fresh with a new domain. That does bring me to another question, if I have to start fresh on a new domain is it a possibility to reuse the content from the old site? (providing I remove the URLs from Google via Webmaster tools). Any help/advice/answers here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No inbound links. Should I link-build or create new content?
I have a PR4 site with good traffic but the blog is not very popular--the posts do not generate any backlinks and hardly get any traffic. Yet, I continue to kick out a new post every week. Site: http://www.stadriemblems.com/
Technical SEO | | UnderRugSwept
Blog: http://www.stadriemblems.com/blog/ I keep posting content so that Google keeps crawling the site and viewing it as fresh (and yes, I'm posting for my human visitors' benefit too!), but I'm wondering if eventually this will hurt more than help if Google detects all these new pages are not being linked to, and therefore starts viewing the site as low quality and devalues it. So should I: Keep posting Stop posting and build links to the posts Try to promote my blog to get more traffic and hope people link to it Something else or some combination of the above0 -

Passing SEO value from a subdomain
Hi Everybody, I have built a website (http://rugby.europcar.ie) which has gone viral and getting huge amounts of traffic world wide. The problem is, all the Facebook shares, tweets and other social traffic is all referencing the subdomain, and now www.europcar.ie where I want to build rankings. What are my best options for referring this ranking power to my main domain? Thanks in advance Ronan
