SEO MozCon 2012
-
Hello All,
I'm new here in SEOmoz and I'm a Pro member. I currently have a couple of clients and growing.
My question is, I recently got an email about the SEO MozCon 2012 in Seattle going on in July. For those that have been to one of these in the past, can you tell me if this is worth the investment? Can you convince me why I should go?
Thanks in advance!
Jocelyn

Thanks for sharing that. I'm somewhat a beginner, of the two, MozCon and SES in Chgo, which would you think will be more beneficial. Thanks for your insight.

Sure and FYI here's my question about the same topic I asked day before.

Thanks for the quick response Nakul! Let's keep each other posted of what we end up doing. I think we have 3 weeks left to take advantage of the early registration discount.

Jocelyn, I have not been to a MozCon per se, but I have been to another SEO Conference for several years now. There's a considerable amount of value in terms of staying on top of what's going on in the industry, what other folks/companies are doing, helping forward thinking and above all the opportunity of meeting/networking with tons of other people like yourself. That alone justifies going to MozCon and I am considering to go myself as well. I'd love to say hello in case we both make it ;).

Do I learn (SEO) differently than you?
Hi, I learn best talking and listening and bouncing ideas off of other people in real time. I've done a little posting on Moz.com and a little last year at Mozcon but I would welcome more opportunities to do this face-to-face and maybe even meet people from the Midwest doing SEO. If you're like me in this way and you'd like to meet while at Mozcon 2013 in a couple of weeks let me know. I plan to be at each class and each after-seminar event. Meeting up would be great. Thanks! Who is Mozcon for?
Hello! I own and operate an online retail store for batteries. Basically, I live and die on search engine ranking. I have been working with two well established SEO companies that have significantly strengthened my standings in both Bing and Google search engines. I have a good understanding of SEO and the various aspects that it is comprised of. My question to you guys - should I attend Mozcon? Is this event geared more towards marketing companies or is there any potential for a small SEO savvy business owner to attend? Stepping away from my company for four days is a rather large commitment at the current moment - I need to be certain this event is worth it for someone like me. Any thoughts? Where can I find an SEO mentor?
I've been having difficulty finding an SEO mentor that can answer my questions and rate the strategy that I'm currently using, as well as bouncing ideas off their experience. Basically, most SEO companies will not want to do this, and will more likely want to sign you up for a monthly plan in link building, however I want to learn SEO on my own with my team, and many companies in Sydney, I guess, see us as competition and don't want to reveal their 'secrets'. I've read a bunch of books on SEO and we are starting our SEO campaign now, however having someone to speak to now and again to get feedback on our strategy would be invaluable, however is proving very difficult to find. On one hand, I know I just have to take action towards link building and other things,

however on the other side, it would be good to have someone to give a helping hand and bounce ideas off who has experience. If someone is interested in becoming a mentor for myself as I work to build my digital agency in Sydney pleaes get in contact with me. The pay is $30 - $40p/h depending on experience. Regards0
