what is the best tool for finding what people are using as search phrases for my product? i used to use the google adwords keyword suggestion tool but that tool is gone now. Is the google keyword planner now the best tool to use?

One tool I've begun to use more frequently is Search Queries in Webmaster Tools. It doesn't tell me what keywords I'm not using already that others are, but it does give me insight into how people are already finding their way to our sites. I look at the percent changes which show me trends in what people are searching for and use that information to add new content and more in depth information.

Hi Ron. If the keywords and phrases for your niche are REALLY LOW volume (like some of mine are), then I suggest using Google Adwords by running a few short PPC campaigns.
A two week run with your keywords set as a Broad match will gather enough data to activate an interesting Adwords report. This report is found on the "Keywords" screen of an individual campaign. Click the "Details" button then select "Search Terms / All" on the dropdown. This will list exactly what phrase people typed in the search box, how many times it was searched (Impressions), how many Clicks those phrases got, etc.
Just peeked at one of my campaigns and for the last 30 days it only had 2400 impressions. That's pretty low volume and those small volumes do not show up well in any free tool that I know of. Though they used to in the old Adwords Keyword Tool. I miss it...

Best Practices For Keyword Optimization
Hey currently building a new page on a clients site in the weight loss niche. The keywords he wants to rank for are the following: <colgroup><col width="198"> <col width="64"></colgroup>

| [list of fat burning foods] | 720 | His site is new, but he has excellent content production capabilities. My question is, in terms of optimizing the page (the title and url) for these keywords would you focus on the highest volume keyword. In this case the highest volume keyword is "fat burning foods" however is the most competitive and dominated by high domain authority sites (50+ vs. clients site which is around 30). Thus its highly unlikely he will rank for that keyword for quite a while. But for the keyword term "best fat burning foods" the competition is alot less in terms of DA and other factors but volume is smaller with 1900 hits a month. So would you optimize the page (the title and url) for "best fat burning food" or would you optimize thinking about the long-term and eventually ranking the keyword "fat burning foods". My thinking would be to optimize the page for "fat burning foods". And that the benefits of optimizing (url and title) for "best fat burning foods" isn't ideal for the long-run. Changes at Raven Tools!
I received notification today that Raven tools will lose it's Adwords API, see below: "Raven received notice from Google late last week that we would lose access to its AdWords API. Without API access, Raven can't provide Google AdWords research, management and reporting to our customers" This is a massive blow as we use Raven to track progress for clients and also to run keyword research etc. Does anybody that knows Raven have a suitable alternative? Thanks...

Advanced Domain Name Search Service
Hi guys, I'm looking for a clever domain name search service. I want to provide a list of keywords and the site will return with available .com domains relating to my search. An example - I work in the tourism niche and I want to find available travel related .com domains for about 50 locations. I provide a list of words such as "travel", "visit", "goto", "holidays", and I provide a second list with all the locations, example "London", "Paris,", "Berlin", etc... The domain search tool would then mix up my two lists of keywords and check to see if variants such as travellondon.com, londonholidays.com, gotoberlin.com, etc... are free to register. I then go off and buy those domains and have some epic wins. Does this tool exist?

Best Keyword Research Tool / Strategy / Approach?
Currently, I list every root word (one word) I can think of for the client. Then start a 2 word keyword section, making every possible connection with my root words. Then move to 3 word, 4 word, and so on. I do this all in a word document and by hand. Does anybody have ANYTHING (tool/strategy) that does something similar? I'm looking for anything that can expedite this process. My manual method makes me feel like I'm always forgetting certain combinations of words.
