Hi Edmond
You'd be able to use the copy without any problems, but you won't be able to rank for it specifically. If that's not an issue, then read on.
What I would do is add a canonical tag on your page back to the original press release. You can read up on canonical tags here in this Moz guide.
So say the press release is at this URL: http://www.pressreleasecompany.com/yourpressrelease
You can take the press release and publish it on your own page, such as: http://www.yourdomain.com/yourpressrelease
On your webpage, you would need to have the following code in the section of your HTML:
rel="canonical" href="http://www.pressreleasecompany.com/yourpressrelease" />
With that bit of code, you are letting Google know that you have taken the press release from elsewhere and that the original copy can be found there. You are using the copy just to feature and add user experience to your website, and not to try and rank for any terms.
Google will acknowledge the tag and will not penalise you (or reward you) for using the duplicate copy. I think it's also a good idea to include a brief introduction to where the press release came from and what it is about before using the copy, just to show that you are citing your source.
With those steps, you will be fine in mentioning external press releases about your company on your own site without risking being penalised. Always a good idea not to overdo it, but with the canonical tag you won't be seen as duplicating content for nefarious or ranking means.
Hope this helps.

How to rank highly without much content?
Many pages on the web rank highly - even though they have no keyworded text. They might have listings, or just images. How do they achieve such high rankings? Is it just by getting lots of inbound links?

Breaking a Big Website into Multiple Unrelated Sites
I have a big cluttered website that I want to simplify. There is content for patients, researchers, therapists who are looking for grants, etc.. Would it be a bad ideas to turn these into 3 or more, completely different sites with each focused on their specific demographic? Or should I just figure out how to organize the one site better? Thanks for your help!!!

Sites Like Outbrain that are local?
So I used Outbrain and I liked it, but I think it would be more valuable if you could target the state where your client is. Outbrain targets the entire county, which might not be valuable for a local client. I am wondering if there are any other sites like Outbrain that allow you to target locally?

Is there a way to automate finding low quality content on your site?
Hi all, I have a site that was once #1 for many keywords. Fast forward a number of years and I am sinking lower and lower and it really started to sink low from September 2012 and appears to be due to an algo update. How should I go about finding my low quality pages? I am told that I might have pages bringing my entire site down. I deleted heaps of low quality pages but not seeing any improvements (might be a little impatient). Any tips for finding bad content?

How to best host a blog - standalone or on the site?
HI We are redesiging our site currently - at the moment we have a low key blog on the site which is pretty well hidden (to be changed with redesign) but is hosted as brand.com/blog name. I have been advised it might be a good idea on relaunch to have the blog as a standalone blog linking back to our main site but also having a graphic on the site that promotes the blog. The blog does not currently have the same name as the website so would work as a standalone site but I understand it would not have any seo benefits from the original site. I have seen on previous posts here that the best practise is domain.com/blog but wondered if anyone thought different? Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Penny

Your Site and Google News Question
My site has been in Google News for about 3 years. Over the weekend, I received this message from Google Hi John, We periodically review news sources, to ensure Google News offers a high quality experience for our users. We reviewed your site and are unable to include it in Google News at this time. We can't include sites that don't have a formal editorial-review process for submitted content. If this exists on your site, please let us know where and we'll be happy to review your site again. Mainstreetmonroe is scheduled to be removed from Google News for a period of at least 30 days. After this 30-day period has elapsed, you can re-apply for inclusion in Google News provided your site meets our guidelines. We appreciate your assistance in this matter. Please note that you'll still be able to find your site in Google Web Search and other Google services. Thanks for your interest in Google News. Regards, The Google News Team What exactly do they mean? I submitted my website news section, but they have been displaying our forum area in the news too. I think the forum is what GN is talking about. What is the best way to fix this problem? Move the forum to a subdomain?
