Roger, Can You Please Help Get Me in Mozcon?
-
I am a newbie to amazing tools like Moz! Yup, I joined in December and there is no looking back and no regrets. Well, until now.
Here’s my sad story.
I have been hearing about Mozcon for months. And I have told a number of colleagues that I am definitely going to that! Especially since I have two reasons to go all the way to the Northwest in July… My 21YO son is a competitive snowboarder and video blogger living at Mt. Hood during the summer. I can visit him and go to Seattle for Mozcon.
When I checked the site for cost and tickets, the early bird incentive had already expired, so I figured I would pick up my ticket in July. I went ahead and booked the hotel and airfare from North Carolina. So, I am all set.
At the beginning of the month, I go to buy the ticket and they are SOLD OUT!
OMG!
I am already coming and there are no tickets for sale.
I had no idea that a workshop at the big Seattle convention center would sell out.
I know you guys are cool and that you have a super connected following, but SOLD OUT?
I had no idea.I wait listed myself, but I have heard nothing.
So… I am at the crossroads here…
ROGER! Can you please find just one more ticket for the newbie in North Carolina??
Please...
Please help if you can.So disappointed in NC~ Terry

Yay! You can mostly thank the people ahead of you on the waiting list who didn't grab the very cancellation-related tickets we had.
See you at MozCon!
-
Glad to hear it, and hope you have a great trip out here!
-
Got a waitlist notification. Yippee. I got a ticket!
Thank you for your support.

Not sure what happened... and I am so glad I had not yet cashed in my airplane ticket. This morning I got a waitlist notification. Thank you. Thank Roger. Thank Erica. Yippee. I got a ticket.
Best!
Terry

Thanks for letting me know.
I guess nothing feels as good as a ticket to go when you have everything else.
-
Thanks for the feedback.
I think the FAQs might say that we sold out in years past. But last year was our first year at the convention center and we didn't sell out by about 70 seats. This year, we upped the seats by a little over 100 and were unsure if we were going to sell out or not.
-
Yes, EricaMcGillivray, I'm not feeling very MozSmart right now.
Just as FYI for conference info on the site... I did not see anywhere that the event is likely to sell out. I would have acted much sooner. I'm a newbie and didn't know.
So... I will post on the FB group... and hope that someone will turn this frown upside down!
-
Gosh KeriMorgret~ you made 'sorry charlie, you are SOL' sound almost hopeful...

Hi Terry,
Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, it is true that MozCon is completely sold out. Every seat is the house -- 1,325 seats -- is booked.
Your best bets are on the waiting list, which to be completely transparent is running 160+ people. Or searching "MozCon" on Twitter or joining the MozCon Facebook Group as I've seen a few people post about having extra tickets in those places.
Sorry to not have a better answer.
If you're thinking about joining us for MozCon 2015, super early bird tickets go on sale right at MozCon, so keep an eye on our Moz social feeds and blog as we'll be posting about it.

Howdy!
So sorry to hear about the bad timing on this. I've routed your question to a coworker who can give more details, but right now I'd suggest joining the MozCon group on FB (in addition to being on the wait list). I've seen two different people on there have tickets they couldn't use, and they transfered them to someone else who responded within the group. I'll be crossing my fingers for you!

Can someone explain what is exactly a vanity url and how to make it work?
Hi guys, Can someone explain me exactly what is a vanity URL and how to track it on google analytics? All I know is that these URLs are for tracking offline marketing campaigns such as contest/promotions. Also, would it make sense to create an unbounce campaign to get that vanity url and track it via Google analytics? Thank you Mozzers!

I'm trying to track down Jessica Bowman's Keyword Research ROI Excel template from this year's MozCon. Does it exist?
This presentation was awesome - and I've just encountered a pitch that would be ideal for this type of analysis. In looking through my notes from MozCon I don't see a download link - nor can I find one in the presentation. It was the 11:30 - 12:00pm timeslot on day 3 of MozCon: http://www.seomoz.org/mozcon-live/agenda Can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers, J

Any ideas or tips how to get more customers, have you been in a similar situation ?
A couple of years ago I bought a holiday cottage in the UK and I couldn't afford to have it stood empty which lead me to get into search engine optimisation and marketing and now I'm hooked by most of the people on this forum and it's become a hobby and a way of life. I'm getting good search results on Google for terms like Whitby holiday cottages, which is one of the major search terms traffic wise and I'm appearing above the fold on page 1 of Google along with some of the big boys. http://www.endeavourcottage.co.uk/ I've managed to get somewhere in the region of 95% occupancy throughout the year for my own holiday cottage so I decided I would like to branch out into small letting agency represent the peoples properties. Over the 12 months I've managed to acquire four clients on my new letting agency website but I found the hardest bit is getting new customers for the website. The main holiday letting agency in Whitby has well over 100 cottages on their books and they according to various sources do not provide high occupancy rates and this is probably down to the fact of the sheer number of their clients. My idea is to just manage a small number of 10 or 20 properties in a more personal way and provide a good service for each client. The four clients I now represent only came to be because I physically met the people in the town and got to know them personally and they are getting much better occupancy rates from my website and marketing campaign. If I could get a few more customers I could spend more time and money on my marketing campaign and make the business hopefully an intimate successful affair for all parties. I lived 80 miles away from the seaside resort and I very rarely stay there is my cottages mostly occupied so the chances of meeting people is quite slim at the moment. You can e-mail people till you're blue in the face but they don't seem to want to trust you and give you their property to represent as an agent when you've never actually met them and you don't have a physical bricks and mortar frontage or a history in this type of business. Basically the town is full of holiday cottages with very low occupancy rates, and even though I'm advertising to take on new clients with no red tape and contract I have attracted no new customers from my website.I also tryed the local paper and just

What did you learn/get from Link Building Seminar New Orleans?
(No, I am not posting this thread to help me create linkbait. grin) Great seminar! Just got back from the drinks and networking at Muriel's (was that a cool location or what!?) and thought I'd start a discussion thread on here, since I don't see one yet. What was the biggest thing you learned/got from this seminar? For me, it was all the tips and tactics to create and promote linkbait.
