Moz health check for newbies
-
Hi
I'm on the free trial, I'm finding it really useful. since I was 16 (16years ago) all I've done is cook. After 3 weeks of Moz I feel like I'm or the way to marketing my business instead of having others tell me how to do it.
A while back I used to use SEO freelancers to buff my site, but recently I realized that I was not doing enough to promote my business myself, I was trying to pay others to do it for me. I goggled Soe and marketing, of course I found Moz while doing so! The content is exceptional and really goes in depth and we are now coming up with a new content strategy!
The problem is that I have this gut feeling that The moz product is worth the money it asks for as I can easily identify the issues or opportunities my site has, I still feel that I lack the competence to use moz to its full potential!
Is there an option to have someone skpe me and give me some tips or in sites with in my own campaign?
I've spent a lot of time reading the blog content and watching the videos but this all seams to focus on how to get results but not so much on how to use the Moz console/dashboard.
I've probably just missed a hole bunch of content but if not do Moz have and option to help set up your Moz analytic and Research so you can get the most relevant info to you?
Any help is most welcome
Kind regards
Ben Horle

Hey Ben! I'd also like to add to what Christy mentioned is that we do have a welcome webinar this Friday at 10am PDT: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/355765902. It's an hour long, and we'll walk you through Moz Analytics and other tools, and you'll have plenty of time to ask direct questions to the team and such as well.
And welcome!

Hi Ben, welcome to Moz! This Q&A Forum is a great place to get help from the community for using Moz tools, as is the Help Hub. Have you seen this recent thread in the forum, http://moz.com/community/q/i-m-new-to-moz-what-to-focus-on-first? There are links to many resources that will help you get the most out of Moz Analytics (including links to videos on using the dashboard.) Check it out, and if you have any specific questions about using the tools, ask away!

Standard Syntax in robots.txt doesn't prevent Moz bot from crawling
A client is getting many false positive site crawl errors for things like duplicate titles and duplicate content on pages that include /tag/ in the URL. An example is https://needquest.com/place_tag/autism-spectrum-disorder/page/4/ To resolve this we have set up a disallow statement in the robots.txt file that says

Disallow: /page/ For some reason this appears not to work, as the site crawl errors continue to list pages like this. Does anyone understand why that would be and what we need to do to properly disallow crawling these pages?0 -
Does anyone know where I can find the Moz Video explaining how to use the Craw Diagnostic Feature? Thank!
I am starting to use the craw diagnostics(specifically duplicate content) and I know there was a very helpful tutorial video i saw earlier but I cant seem to find it now

Moz's official stance on Subdomain vs Subfolder - does it need updating?
Hi, I am drawing your attention to Moz's Domain basics here: http://moz.com/learn/seo/domain It reads: "Since search engines keep different metrics for domains than they do subdomains, it is recommended that webmasters place link-worthy content like blogs in subfolders rather than subdomains. (i.e. www.example.com/blog/ rather than blog.example.com) The notable exceptions to this are language-specific websites. (i.e., en.example.com for the English version of the website)." I am wondering if this is still Moz's current recommendation on the subfolders vs subdomains debate, given that the above (sort of) implies that SE's may not combine ranking factors to the domain as a whole if subdomains are used - which (sort of) contradicts Matt Cutts last video on the matter ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MswMYk05tk ) which implies that this is not the case and there is so little difference that their recommendation is to use whatever is easiest. It would also seem to me that if you were looking through the eyes of Google, it would be silly to treat them differently if there were no difference at all other than subdomain vs subfolder as one of the main reasons a user would use a sud-domain is a technical on for which it would not make sense for Google to treat differently in terms of its algorithm. I notice that in terms of Moz, while most of the site uses subfolders, you do have http://devblog.moz.com/ - and I was wondering if this is due to a technical reason or conscious decision, as it would seem to me that the content within this section is indeed linkworthy (as it has external links pointing to it from external sources), therefore it would seem to not be following the initial advice that is posted in Moz's basics on domains. Therefore I am assuming it is due to a technical reason - or that Moz's adive is out of date with current Moz thinking, and is indeed in line with Matt C in that it doesn't matter. Cheers

Is there a difference between Moz Pro and Moz Analytics?
I thought that Moz Analytics was now included with Moz Pro. Is this true? I have Moz Pro and I was using the beta version of Moz Analytics back in October. When I log into Moz Analytics, the latest data stops at October 27th and there is no data after that. Is that an indication of when my trial period ended? I have the basic Moz Pro, does that include Analytics portion? Thanks!

Moz Analytics - Reports
In the guide video (http://moz.com/help/guides/getting-started) a report button is show. However, I cannot see this button in Moz Analytics. I'm assuming this is due to the tool being in beta?

Whenever I try to access campaigns in moz pro I get an error page
I recently signed-up for a new pro account. As I was adding my first subdomain everything was fine until I was asked to link to GA, when I clicked yes I got this error message: 403 Forbidden Now every time I click on set-up campaign I get taken to a page with nothing but the 403 Forbidden text.
