0 status codes
-
Hi,
I am hoping someone could help explain - I have a screaming frog account and ran a crawl using it, it returned a lot of 0 status codes 'connection timeout', 'DNS lookup failed' and 'Connection Refused'. However, the SEO MOZ Crawl doesn't detect any of this.
I am fairly new to these tools, do you know why this is?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Kayleigh,
Like Patrick said, just try to recrawl these pages. I assume that will fix the problem.
If that still gives the errors I would make sure to try it again with adjusted speed. Some servers automatically block crawlers (IP’s) that give a spike in there server requests. Screaming Frog can easily trigger this (happened to me aswell). You can set the speed under configuration.
If you give this a try I would go with one thread at a time and 0,5 URL’s a second. That worked for me. When it was a block it could be needed to get your IP address unblocked before you try it again. Good luck!

Hi Kayleigh
This happens from time to time. Sometimes I will pull the URLs I get those 0 status errors for and recrawl them. It's no big deal, sometimes you just have to mess with the configuration of your crawls.
ScreamingFrog offers some tips in their FAQ section, you can read those here.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions or comments.

Track rank by multiple zip codes, radius, or state?
I work for a hospital that serves patients in multiple states. I'd love to track keywords locally, but entering one town or zip code at a time would take days. Is it possible to track locally by multiple zip codes, by radius, or by states?

901 error code showing url back to back in crawl
Hi Everyone, I'm absolutely dumbfounded about this 901 issue (showing pages with our url back to back). Our site is hosted on Big Commerce: https://www.santabarbarachocolate.com When I look for these pages being crawled I don't find them. I've called BC for help and I can't seem to find a solution or where to turn as to how to fix the issue at hand or even if it matters. Please see below what the Moz crawl shows. Could this be related to Yotpo or some app we have running? Or does this even matter and does it have any influence on rank? Do you have recommendations or ideas? Thanks so much. Moz Pro for simple local seo status reporting
I have a new client on a small budget with a local yoga studio. There's been no SEO work on this site so far, so, after the basics, I plan to work through the items on this list: https://moz.com/blog/top-20-local-search-ranking-factors-an-illustrated-guide I'm a new Moz Pro user and am looking for advice on how to use Moz Pro tools with my client to review progress over time...a simple checklist of reports/metrics to share and track, and to use in weekly status reports. Or, in other words, how can I configure and use Moz Pro tools for basic progress tracking? This is not a sophisticated, SEO-savvy client, so I want to keep things very simple. Thanks for any ideas or pointers. Dave

When connecting your Google Analytics account to your Moz account, Moz provides a drop-down of accounts & UA codes to select from. Where is Moz pulling those selection options from?
The list of Google Analytics accounts and UA codes listed are outdated. How can I update them to reflect the most up-to-date accounts (& UA codes associated with those accounts)?

New to using MOZ. Familiar with Google Analytics. With MOZ is there a code snippet to include on my site?
Just taken over web marketing responsibilities at my company. Will be doing some major website upgrades soon. I'm not familiar with MOZ and don't want to overwrite anything. So when setting up MOZ, is there a code snippet that goes anyplace on the site like there is with Google analytics? Thanks.
