Spam Directories creating misleading Authority ratings

How does the website www.starsdirectory.com.ar get a Domain Authority of 54 and a Page Authority of 61 when Google quite correctly gives it a PR 0?
It is clearly a spam directory, which Google has recognised.
It is very misleading using OSE or Campaign Management when sites such as these (and there are hundreds more we have found) are skewing the results of competitiors through the use of spam links.
Is there no way that SEOMoz tools can identify such spam sites when they create their ratings?

That is an awful directory. None of the entries in the categories I looked at were even close, they were all over the place. Google has figured this out I would guess because of a very high number of reciprocal links. Most spammy directories require a reciprocal link to be included, so they likely have several hundred or even thousands of domains linking to them. Google would naturally penalize this. OSE doesn't seem to have a way to categorize reciprocal links, but that would be very incredible if they could.
Imagine being able to see your followed links, nofollowed links, and right in there with it, your reciprocal links. Then they could reduce the authority of sites with over 90% reciprocal links or something. Would be good for an SEO to know as well especially when taking over a website you haven't done work on before. That's good info.

Unsolved DA dropping after spam attack
Hello. Our DA has dropped from 40 to 28. Why does moz take into account clear spam links. Not all links are created by website owners. Popular websites also see a lot of unknown spam linking. It is not a Google ranking factor. Domain Authority scores range from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater likelihood of ranking. Since DA is based on machine learning calculations, your site's score will often fluctuate as more, fewer, or different data points become available and are incorporated into those calculations. For instance, if facebook.com were to acquire a billion new links, every other site’s DA would drop relative to Facebook’s. Because more established and authoritative domains like Facebook will have increasingly larger link profiles, they take up more of the high-DA slots, leaving less room at the higher end of the scale for other domains with less robust link profiles. Therefore, it's significantly easier to grow your score from 20 to 30 than it is to grow it from 70 to 80. For this reason, it’s important to use Domain Authority as a comparative metric rather than an absolute one. New blog site spam score is 40+ without any backlink
I have purchased a new domain ( Studytobecome.com ) from GoDaddy, before 15 days, and i just writing daily 1 article on my site, without any SEO, or backlinks, but now when I see in Moz spam score of my site after 15 days it shows 40+ without any links. Potential spam websites with high DA linking back to us
Hey everybody, I'm going through all my sites and disavowing crap links. However, I'm having trouble distinguishing which high DA sites to disavow. What would you do? For example:

How long for authority to transfer form an old page to a new page via a 301 redirect? (& Moz PA score update?)
Hi How long aproximately does G take to pass authority via a 301 from an old page to its new replacement page ? Does Moz Page Authority reflect this in its score once G has passed it ? All Best

Comparing Domain Authority Scores
Since your scale (like PageRank) is a logarithmic scale, it makes it hard to judge the distance between 2 scores. Can you give me a rule of thumb. For PageRank, each jump is an exponential jump - so that a PR6 is perhaps 10 times stronger than a PR5. What is the log base that SEOMoz uses. Should I assume that a 60 is 10 times stronger than a 50? This is important when it comes to measuring progress because growth is going to get more difficult as you move up the scale and I need to communicate the distance between our current Authority score and our goal.
