Backlink from High DA but low PA
-
Hi,
Which back link has more value;
1. Backlink from High DA and low PA.
2. Backlink from High PA and Low DA
Thanks

I think it is important here to note something that is a bit of a misnomer in the industry.
Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) are NOT measures of how much a page or domain will benefit you were you to receive a link from it. They are machine-learned keyword-agnostic predictive metrics for rankings. That is to say, a high DA domain or high PA domain are more likely to rank, but they are not necessarily more likely to help your site rank were you to acquire a link from that site.
We know that the most important raw metric still continues to be the number of root linking domains. We also know that nearly all published link graph calculations look at metrics like the number of links per page to divide link value passed from one page to another. Subsequently, the actual value you get from a link can be wildly different than the PA or DA might suggest.
I would take a different approach altogether. If you spend even a second considering whether to get a link or not because of its PA or DA, you have wasted that second. While using PA, DA, MozTrust or MozRank to sort opportunities might be useful if automated and asynchronous, you should never stop and sweat whether it is worth going after a link. Of course it is. Get that link. Go get it now.
Happy link hunting

I suggest you may be missing a key point we were trying to make, apologies if I am being blunt.
Topical relevance is integral to long term sustained ranking success. So forget DA & PA for a second. If your keyword is Travel Insurance then a 90 DA & 1 PA link from a Travel Company is an awesome link, especially with some great anchor text. 5 gold stars.
However a link from a company selling pool tables with a DA 20 PA 24 is not usually overly helpful.
So look for not only the DA & PA look for relevance to your website, anchor text... etc. there are alot more factors than just DA & PA. Play with majestic or open site explorer a little more. All good.
Hope that assists.

Hi,
What i am getting here is ;
Link with DA=20 & PA=24 is better than that of a link having DA=90 & PA=1 .
-
Agree with John, you still want a link from the New York Times with it's crazy Domain Authority but as the page itself probably would have a very low Page Authority it still wouldn't make sense.
-
It is not as simple as that. Trust flow, and the nature of the citation is also v important. Is the link relevant? If you had to choose one, perhaps DA but I find that a high DA and low PA, usually means it is not a site worth considering.
The questions should be does the site, help drive traffic? is it relevant... etc.
Hope that assists.

My DA keeps going up, by my rankings keep falling.
Hi, I manage a few clients, but the one that is in reference to this question is a local law firm. They blog on a regular basis and we continue to monitor for and delete any negative backlinks. Their domain authority keeps rising, but they continue to lose rankings for tracked keywords. Has anyone else faced a similar situation? Does anyone one know what is causing this or what I can do to combat it? Thanks,

What Should I Do With Low Quality Content?
As my site has definitely got hit by Panda, I am in the process of cleaning my website of low quality content. Needless to say, shitty articles are completed being removed but I think lots of this content is now of low quality because it is obsolete and dated. So what should I do with this content? Should I rewrite those articles as completely new posts and link from the old posts to the new ones? Or should I delete the old posts and do a 301 redirect to the new post? Or should I rewrite the content of these articles in place so I can keep the old URL and backlinks? One thing is that I've got a lot more followers than I used to so publishing a new post gets a lot more views, like and shares and whatnot from social networks.

Get the startpage rank high for one word
Hi, This has maybe been asked many times. I wonder for example how our website www.hardtours.se can receive higher ranking for the word "hardstyle". Our competitor has "hardstyle" in the webadress and it feels useless to compete with them since it feels that having the name in the www adress is to hard to compete with. Or am i wrong?

Changing Link Title Tags & Backlinks
On 4/19/12 I began changing the link title tags in an effort to further optimize my website. I thought they were excessively long and it would be beneficial to make them more concise. On 4/26/12 my website traffic began to fall drastically and I'm not sure if it is from google's penguin update or from changing the link title tags. I started looking into the sudden drop of traffic and realized that when I run the site explorer tool on all of the pages I changed, the URL is redirecting. It appears that the backlinks are not passing through to the new URL. Before I Changed the Link Title Tag: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.beautystoponline.com%2FAndis-Professional-Hair-Clippers-s%2F102150.htm **After I Changed the Link Title Tag: ** http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.beautystoponline.com%2FAndis-Clippers-s%2F102150.htm So my questions are: The above example shows that the old title tag (www.beautystoponline.com/Andis-Professional-Hair-Clippers-s/102150.htm) has 43 backlinks and the new one (www.beautystoponline.com/Andis-Professiona-Hair-Clippers-s/102150.htm) has 0. Will the links eventually be attributed to the new URL. I understand that the user will still be directed to my website they click the any of the backlinks, but will the link juice pointing the old URL pass through the new one? Would it be better, in the long run, to continue optimizing the link title tags.

Paid CTR Vs Organic CTR for high ranked terms - say average position 2 in Adwords and average position of 4 in Google SERP
Consider a situation where we are getting 5000 impressions for a term in Adwords and Bing/Yahoo and the same term with the same landing page is ranked within top 5 positions of Google and Bing search. If we get 2.00% CTR in Paid - Adwords and MSN average, What will be the acceptable Organic CTR - which is available in webmaster tool? Apart from Title and Description, what are the other areas need improvement to increase Organic CTR?

Are a lot auf tag-sites in the index a bad signal for low quality? (Panda Update)
Hello everybody, first of all please excuse my bad english. I'm from Germany - I try my best. 😉 The case: I have a Wordpress SEO project which rankings very well. A this moment I have all "archive sites" like "archive", "category" und "tags" indexed. I use the more-Tag for every archive/category/tag site - so duplicate content ist not really a problem, but in view of the Panda Update, which surely arrives in Germany soon, I wonder if all this Tag/Archive/Category Sites in the index maybe seen as low quality und can hurt the ranking of my whole site. Low quality because: With using the more-tag the site are just a list of internal links with content snippets. I have 500 articles und 700 Tag Site (all in the index). So my fear is when google (with Panda Update) looks at my site und sees all this (maybe) low quality tag-sites in the index I get penalised because there is not a good proportion between my normal (good quality) Articles und the archive/tag sites. I hope you guys can understand my thoughts. Do I have a legitimate fear that the mass of tag-site in the index could be problem? Are there any data from the USA, how blogs mit Tag-Site in the Index rank after the Panda Update or if sites which contains of internal Links mit content snippets - like these tag site - are low quality in Google eyes? Or I'm worring to much? Thank you very much! Oliver
