How to get traffic from Canada Only
-
I have a website from Canada based, and need only Canadian traffic. But i am getting traffic from USA more than Canada. I have submitted site on Canada based business listing, Classified and rest of sites. But still getting traffic from USA. Please suggest me what should I do?

It's a Med Spa business, or people from US will not go Canada to take Spa services and all those. My target audience is only from Ontario, Canada..

Okay, I'm assuming that you are using a .com domain TLD?
If so, there are two choices number one you could purchase the .ca version of your domain, and 301 redirect each page over. This will let Google know you wish to target.you want to geo-target Canada
Or in Webmaster tools/search console
Go into Google Webmaster tools now search console and add the www. & non-www. To your search console. Once you have done this click on geolocation and target Canada as the country, you wish to geo-target.

- Or

List off TLD's you can geo-target (Remember .ca does this automatically.)

- it's never a bad idea to host the site in the country being targeted.
- (even though Google says IP's don't matter)
- I honestly think they do to a small amount.
- Make sure the site is fast in Canadia
- Ensuring that you are using the various language differences between Canadian English and American English. Is a must!
- I recommend Find FAST hosting in Canada e.g. Peer 1 and speedy rails as great hosting companies in Canada.
I hope this helps,
Tom

You could exclude sertain IP ranges in the .htaccess but that will never block all US traffic.
Big question is, why would you want to block them? Are they not the target audience you try to reach? What about Canadian people living in the US?

Can High Traffic and Bounce Rate Hurt Local Rankings?
I just began working on a campaign for a dental office who happened to rank really well for some general search terms around post-op care. They received a ton of traffic for a small local site-- 26k organic visits YTD-- but since they focus on providing services locally, their conversion rate for organic search is pretty abysmal. On top of that, a couple of their high-traffic pages are contributing to a 90%+ average bounce rate on the site. Clearly the goal of the website doesn't involve attracting a national audience, but tons of traffic couldn't possibly be a bad thing... right? On the flip side of the coin, their local visibility is terrible. Their DA is comparable to their competitors, but in local SERPs they're nowhere to be found. Could one of these factors be affecting the other? Could their high visibility, but lack of conversions, from a bunch of organic traffic be hurting their visibility locally? I'd be interested hearing from other SEOs who may have faced similar situations in the past.

What is the best way to get found for different areas within my County.
my business is based in the UK in the county of East Sussex. It is not a large County and its neighbour is West Sussex. In terms of local search optimisation I would like to be found when people search for East Susses, West Sussex and Sussex. What is the best way to attack this? e.g. I could use the keywords, "my business is based in East Sussex, but we work across West Sussex too. But would this cover me if someone searched "business in Sussex" . I need some guidance as to the best way to handle this kind of local search conundrum. Thank you

I can't get my page to rank. What am I doing wrong?
I'm new to this forum and this is my first question. So if I'm not supposed to ask this type of question, please forgive me. I'm trying my best to get http://www.westcoastflenterprises.com/#!roofing/bbb1e to rank on the first page in Google for "roofing contractors" in the following SW Florida cities: "Naples, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers." Our company has a physical address in Fort Myers only so I understand it's going to be harder to get it to rank for Naples and Bonita Springs. But I can't even get this page to rank well for "roofing contractors in Fort Myers." The page authority is 25 and our domain authority is 27. Our home page authority is 39. Our primary category in Google is building restoration & preservation. But we have divisions in our company: Roofing Concrete Ornamental metals I would love it if our roofing page could rank higher than the third page, which is where it currently sits. I worked really hard to get each of our roofing-material manufacturers to link directly to our roofing page, not the home page. My hope is that you can help me because I'm really discouraged. Thanks in advance.

Removed huge spammy location footer, looking to rebuild traffic the right way
Hello, On this site, I removed a huge spammy location footer with hundreds of cities, states, and dog training types. The traffic and rankings have gone down a lot, and I'd like a discussion on how to rebuild things the right way. There's some local adjustments to be made to the home page content, but other than that: My plans: 1. Analyze top 10 Google analytics keyword queries and work them into the content as best as possible, though I am debating whether the client should make new pages and how many. 2. I'm going to suggest he add a lot of content to the home page, perhaps a story about a dog training that he did in Wisconsin. I'll think about what else. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

For a generic domain say www.purplecola.com where the company is based in India (IP address there too), how should they best optimize for US search traffic?
Let's just say that they want to target the US market. Should they add a US based IP address? Would love to hear insight from people who have managed this, experienced this or have expertise. Obviously, a US based physical address would help. Thanks!! Chris

Is anyone noticing you cannot get on Yelp?
I started trying to access for reviews and cannot get them on desktop or with mobile app. On desktop just keep getting a 408 response (timed out). My first attempt was around 11:30 a.m. Central time. Just curious.
