Sessions increase but pageviews decreased
-
I have compared my traffic from Jan-15 to Dec-15 and found traffic increased but pageviews decreased on few pages. Is this any issue?
-
I did found the same issue for my site last months. the issue was my referral traffic and some organic (spam keywords) traffic was drastically increased by spam traffic that make 90% to 100% bounce rate. Check out your referral traffic and organic, this can be the issue too.
-
Take a look at the bounce rates for each page in the Landing Page report. Run this with the same date comparison so you can see if any specific pages had a jump in bounce rate.
-
It would tend to indicate that users are less engaged with your site. More visitors, but they are looking at less stuff on your site. This suggests that users aren't getting what they are looking for when they come to your pages. Perhaps it is time for a keyword rethink? If not, then assess your content. Would you find it useful? Also, look at where you are most visible and see how relevant you are to the audience that will see you there.
