We have taken out our interlinking counts (Only Internal Links and not Outbound Links) through Google WebMaster tool and discovered that the count of interlinking of our most significant pages are less as compared to of less significant pages. Our objective is to reverse the existing behavior by increasing Interlinking count of important pages and reduce the count for less important pages so that maximum link juice could be transferred to right pages thereby increasing SEO traffic.

RE: How many back links a day?
Don't bother about the quantity. Focus on quality. A back link from a quality site is equal to 1000 back links from poor/less authoritive sites.
Sites can beat you with less links, but higher quality ones. This is because links from high authority domains, from blogs or news sites for example, can be substantially more effective for your ranking. High Authority sites can give you great link equity - sites with lots of juice and not too many links can pass on more authority to your site.
This is why unique content and engaging articles are essential for your site if you want to really push up the rankings - you can't buy links off the BBC website or Yahoo News, but make a unique discovery or post an interesting article or tool and you may well find you the link building can run itself!
Today, where each and every single link is being scrutinized to the highest extent by the powers that be. Not only will backlinks that lack credibility or are outright fakes earn zero credit for the site, they can also result in penalization and a swift plummet to the lower echelons of search ending rankings.
Although site owners have become increasingly aware of the value of link building towards higher rankings, there still seems to be a demand for “higher quantities” of links.
I’m sure just about every SEO expert and link building specialist probably has told you by now to focus on quality when it comes to acquiring links. For the most part, that is true. However, I’m going to ask you to slightly modify your paradigm of thinking when it comes to evaluating your own link profile.
Understand that Google is always looking for domain authority and link popularity within niches. Niches are essentially keywords and search queries. The question they ask themselves before serving their search results is: “Which sites are the most authoritative when it comes to this particular keyword?”
“Quality of Links vs. Quantity of Links,” we see that the answer to the question is much more sophisticated. Instead, you’re better off placing yourself in the proper mindset and looking to build authority as best as possible for your site. Target the most authoritative sites that you can find for your niche. Target tons of sites that have some credibility. Target a balance of sites that are somewhere in between. More than likely, to build the most authority, you’re probably going to need both. Thus, the terms domain authority and link popularity now make much more sense!
If you want to quickly establish a clear plan for your link building campaign, do proper keyword research and identify your competitors. Take a look at their link profiles using some of the free link building tools available. Do they have tons of moderate quality links? Do they have a strong social presence? Do they have just a few super authoritative links? Do they have a strong combination of the above 3? Whatever it is they’re doing, you need to be do the same because that’s what Google thinks you need to do to show authority within your niche. Evaluate your competitors and look to improve on the tactics they’re doing.
Hope this helps

RE: Using a lot of "Read More" Hidden text
It used by many huge sites is to pre-load code, navigation, or content in the background so that it can be dynamically displayed as needed. The most common technique for accomplishing this is through the use of the CSS display: none attribute.
Unfortunately, you can also use display: none to simply hide text. This is where the perceived problem comes in. People worry that the use of display: none to hide content(and show when user asks for it) or for code that is really meant for screen readers can lead them into trouble. The legitimate use of this technique is so prevalent that I would rarely expect search engines to penalize a site for using the display: none attribute. It’s just very difficult to implement an algorithm that could truly ferret out whether the particular use of display: none is meant to deceive the search engines or not.
I usually use this tactics to make the page more user friendly and it is useful for the user too. User don't get bombarded by a large content piece and I am not fooling the user/google. I am giving the option to the user to read more if he wants to.
"display: none"
What it does :- the functionality is same - when user clicks "read more" it opens and when user click "less" it closes.
How it defeats the "cloaking" idea:- When google crawls your page where the full content is there (text based browser, not java enabled) and when user sees the page there is a "read more" link and by clicking it it shows the full content. So you are not showing two different things to google & user. it solves the problem.there shouldn't be a a cloaking problem. Its tested.
Hope this helps...

RE: How much is the effect of redirecting an old URL to another URL under a new domain?
If you are doing a 301 permanent redirect, It will be fine.
Google now transfers all link value, rankings within a month (few time i saw them do it within a month, it depends how regularly google crawls your site). For a month there will be dip in ranking/traffic but within 1 month (max) your new domain will get the same ranking & link value.
Don't worry, but do a 301 redirect.
Hope this helps.

RE: Using a lot of "Read More" Hidden text
Hi khi5
I analyzed your page. You are doing just fine. you are using CSS display none. You are not doing any cloaking.
You are doing the right thing.
1. not fooling google
2.not fooling user
3.giving the user a better user experience.
Don't worry you are not applying any "black hat" technique. You will not get penalized.

RE: Linking out to relevant resources
As long as it's a decent, none malware hosting, none spammy site it won't have an adverse effect. If you trust the site and think it's passing a benefit to users then why not link those sites? it is a good sign of a trustworthy site if it links to good high quality sites as news sites, wikipedia, forbes, about.com, government sites, etc. I believe that it makes my pages richer information sources. I believe that it builds credibility.
Though I will prefer a no-follow tag on those links as a precaution if that sites becomes a spammy site in future. It will not effect your vistors not passes the link juice to the sites you are linking.
I believe that google gives credit for linking out and even if they don't your visitors will.
Hope this helps !

RE: Local SEO: Creating a Second home-based business?
If you have just one business with different aspects to it and Google likely would see it the same way.
Having two business listings with the same address and phone number would likely result in a merger of the two listings into one. If 2 or more businesses share an address, suite address or phone number (or even if their names are too similar), Google will frequently merge the business details of the listings.Google allows 2 or more businesses at the same address when the categories are clearly different, which you can do if the 2 businesses are of different aspects.
You can get some help here. https://support.google.com/places/answer/107528?hl=en&ref_topic=1656880
I advise to get a new phone number for your second business. This will solve the problem more easily, its cost effective and removes the whole confusion
Hope this helps

RE: Does Domain Authority Consider Social Signals?
I believe that social signals have both a direct and indirect impact on organic search rankings. Direct impact comes from:
1. Number of people that like your brand on Facebook
2. Number of Facebook shares
3. Number of Twitter followers
4. Number of tweets mentioning your brand name or including a link to your website
5. Number of people that “have you in their circles” (Google+)Indirect impact comes from:
1. Increased inbound links and citations due to improved online visibility/brand awareness
2. Increased positive reviews (in Google Local , Yelp, etc.) due to happier customers
3. Decreased bounce rate, higher time on site, and more repeat visitors to your websiteA brand's social media "voice" defines its image and distinguishes it from a distant entity to a hip, trendy, brand.
Conclusion:- when people share your content across social media it means they like the article which was helpful to them. This means your site should be considered authority. Google exactly consider that.

RE: Microsites: Subdomain vs own domains
I prefer the second option as you dont have to build Domain Authority for both the domains seperately. Building Links and DA is a cumbersome task in itself and doing it double is double the effort.
Building links for a single domain for one domain is half the task and double the profit. Both your sub-folders will benefit from the main domain authority.
Hope it helps.

RE: Paid Links - How does Google classify them?
Yes, Google may think those as paid links and may penalize. Best think to do. Use "no follow" on those back links you are getting. It will solve the problem. you will still get visitors from those links but no link juice thus no chance of paid link penalty.

RE: Does showing the date published for an article in the SERPS help or hurt click-through rate?
It will if its a too old article say like 1 yr old.
But it also depends on the article. some articles are ever green and even its old it is still valuable.
