If I have a MOZ PRO account, do I still need Screaming Frog?
-
Hi, I have a MOZ PRO account which is brilliant for me. I am about to move my site from HTTP to HTTPS and was looking for a smooth way to list every page and its details so I can make sure I do the correct redirects etc.. before the switch to SSL.
Do I need to get Screaming Frog, or can the tools with MOZ Pro ease my path just as well?
Thanks

Wow... the man himself Dr Pete!! Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I've decided to go with both Moz Pro AND Screaming Frog.

Our new Site Crawl can provide a full audit of your site (whether or not pages have issues) with information like crawl depth and Page Authority, but both tools have pros and cons. We use a cloud-based crawler (pardon the term) and Screaming Frog runs on your own machine -- even this has pros and cons, depending on your use-case. We now allow on-demand recrawls for Medium Tier on up. Screaming Frog has more customization, if you're looking for specific patterns and generally offers more raw data, I'd say. Our new Site Crawl is a bit more accessible to most users and helps provide insights, but doesn't have a lot of customization options right now.
If you've got a Moz plan that covers the size of your full site, then either Moz Site Crawl or Screaming Frog should be able to help you audit your full list of pages prior to an HTTP-->HTTPS migration.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Much appreciated

Hey! Dave from the help team here,
If you are tracking your site in a Campaign with Moz Pro, you can use the Site Crawl tool to get a full list of all pages crawled and the details regarding these pages. Hopefully that helps to point you in the right direction, let us know if you need anything else!

I use both and I don't think either is a replacement for the other. If your website is under 500 pages, you can use the free version. If not, one license is not expensive at all and valid for a whole year.

I highly recommend Screaming Frog on top of Moz. It can do a lot of Ad-Hoc crawls and help you diagnose potential issues. Try and play with the free version. Depending upon the site of the site, you might be okay with the less than 500 pages. However, at $200 a license, it's not much for a larger site. Imagine what a bug could cost you?

Google Disavow File Format and MOZ Spam Score Updates
Hi, Is there a defined file format for Google disavow file name? Does it has to be disavowlinks.txt or can we do this like domain-name-date.txt ? Also, since Google does not share their data with Moz, how does MOz updates its spam score after we disavow the bad links? Do we need to connect Google search console with Moz?

Moz Pro: Linking RDs to Page much lower than Google Search Console
I'm trying to use the Analyze Keyword tool in Moz Pro, and in the SERP Analysis table, my page has a PA of one, and zero root domains linking to it. If I look at the page in Google Search console, it says I have 229 root domains linking to the page from well known domains like github.com, meetup.com, stackoverflow.com, etc. This particular keyword has been tracked in Moz for the last 6 months, but I just noticed that it was extremely low. I am relatively new to Moz, so forgive me if I sound confused, but can someone explain to me how the numbers can be so low?

Can't see the link I earned from Moz in OSE
Hi Mozzers, A month ago I got the nofollow tag removed from the first custom link on my Moz profile but I can't see this in our links on OSE? SEO Spyglass shows it just fine. Is this related to the delays in the back end of Moz or have I set up my profile wrong? Cheers! Jamie

Why Moz Back links check tool is very Slow compared with other tools?
I've created a new website 50 days old with a vision of sharing high-quality content. I created some pages which are useful and helpful, what make other people link to my site. Early days, two weeks ago I've started checking my backlinks starting with Ahref and majestic. three days ago I decided to join Moz too and use Moz explorer. But, I discovered that Moz tool is too slow compared with other tools. Why? Starting with Ahref. They discovered more than 100 links and updating their data for my site as a new website every 6 hours as I know. Also majestic for the first time discovered six links then every two days they updating their data. Even Google discovered some of my backlinks. Specially links from high-quality sites such as Wikipedia with high-quality pages. Moz tool discovered zero of my backlinks even after subscribing. I don't think Moz need to discover websites like Wikipedia which already indexed by Moz. So, I wonder Why Moz tools are very very very slow like that? Update: (This is a question, not a discussion. So, please don't edit it) Can any Moz support answer please? Thanks.

I have a robots.txt error on Moz but not on Google Webmaster tools. Wondering what to do.
For the site www.patrickwerry.com, I'm getting a DA of 1 and a Error Code 612: Error response for robots.txt However, when I check webmaster tools, it's showing no errors and allowing robots.txt for the domain. Is there anything I can do to fix the issue on the Moz side so I can get better data? If you can respond in layman's terms even better. 🙂 Not an SEO. Lisa

How Does Moz Assign Domain Authority?
When I use Site Explorer to test the following URL, http://jennathuening.results.net/site/index.php, it renders a domain authority of 47. (Clients site on real estate host) There are no page social metrics: no Facebook share no Facebook likes no Twitter tweets no Google+ plus 1's no "just discovered" in 60 days no one has made a post in 3 weeks much or most of the content is duplicate content across all affiliate sites inbound links - only one link - a 301 redirect http://jennathuening.results.net/ Images - 18 (Alt tags missing: 18) Created - 1998-10-15 Registered Org - REMAX RESULTS is associated with ~416 other domains Whois SEO Score 68% AND YET IT HAS A ROOT DOMAIN OF "47" and page authority of 33 More confusing, its page authority of 33 is at that top on blue background and then page 30 just listed below. When I use Site Explorer to test the following URL, http://www.homedestination.com, it renders a domain authority of 26. (Site personally owned and continually update with highly optimized fresh, relevant, quality content with grade "A" moz ranked pages and blog posts) 92 Facebook share 68 Facebook likes 13 Twitter tweets 420 Google+ plus 1's 2 "just discovered" in 60 days Images 25 (Alt tags missing: 0) inbound links - on 48 Root Domains Created - 2002-08-15 9 new indexed blog post so far in August / 19 new indexed blog post in July Whois SEO Score 100% AND YET IT HAS A ROOT DOMAIN OF "26" and page authority of 36 While I am sure there are many other factors as well; it still is hard to see where a "smaller guy" could ever be given an even opportunity to play in the same SEO arena. Could you help me understand better? I like to build a stronger marketing and optimization strategy as we are just beginning AdWord campaigns. | SEO Score | 100% |
