Trying to find all internal links to a specific page (without index)
-
Hi guys --
Still waiting on Moz to index a page of mine. We launched a new site over two months ago.
In the meantime, I really just need a list of internal links to a specific page because I want to change its URL. Does anybody know how to find that list (of internal links to 1 of my pages) without the Moz index?
I appreciate the help!

@marchexmarketingmcc intelligible results from Google tools is never to be expected.

Hi! You can use Screaming Frog and Google Search Console, as it is mentioned in this article: https://rush-analytics.com/blog/find-all-pages-on-website
Also, they've mentioned their own tool, but I haven't tried it yet. -
You can make complete Crawl of your webpage with Screaming Frog. If the number of pages is not large. You can check the internal Links and export it. With Pivot tables you can identify all pages which link to a specific page.
-
If you have a new page that replaces an out of date one. Maybe you'd be better off putting a 301 redirect in place.?

Screaming Frog

My answer is outdated, now it works like this:
- Go to Google Search Console (former Webmaster Tools) and chose the site you want.
- On the left-hand menu, select LINKS, there you can also see your sites Internal links.
-
@sceorily Yes my answer is more than 4 years old...
now the link in the Google Search Console (former Webmaster Tools) is called LINKS. There you can also see your sites Internal links.
The asteriks were wrong formatting from my side I guess.

If you are wanting to find all internal links on a specific page on your website. You can follow these steps in Ahref webmaster tool:
- Enter your website URL in Site Explorer
- Then, Click on Internal Backlinks - Where you can see all internal backlinks of specific page of your website.
I hope this helps!

@cesare-marchetti Hi there. As Moz has reminded me just now, it's almost 2022. I'm afraid your instruction appears to be out of date. Google has moved the Search box, and I find no "Traffic" link. By the way, are the ** (asterisks) supposed to be included in the search string? I tried with and without, no intelligible results.
Then again, intelligible results from Google tools is never to be expected.
I'll keep trying. But this is like throwing darts blindfolded, and not even knowing which direction the dartboard is.

Download XENU - http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html - run a crawl of your site and right click the properties of any page to see all internal links linking to that page.
-
Simple enough. Thanks Cesare.

Hi, you can use Search Console (Webmaster Tools) for that and see a list of internal links for your website as follows:
- On the Webmaster Tools Home page, click the site you want.
- On the left-hand menu, click **Search **Traffic, and then click Internal Links.
Cheers,
Cesare

Page Indexing without content
Hello. I have a problem of page indexing without content. I have website in 3 different languages and 2 of the pages are indexing just fine, but one language page (the most important one) is indexing without content. When searching using site: page comes up, but when searching unique keywords for which I should rank 100% nothing comes up. This page was indexing just fine and the problem arose couple of days ago after google update finished. Looking further, the problem is language related and every page in the given language that is newly indexed has this problem, while pages that were last crawled around one week ago are just fine. Has anyone ran into this type of problem?

Google Not Indexing Pages (Wordpress)
Hello, recently I started noticing that google is not indexing our new pages or our new blog posts. We are simply getting a "Discovered - Currently Not Indexed" message on all new pages. When I click "Request Indexing" is takes a few days, but eventually it does get indexed and is on Google. This is very strange, as our website has been around since the late 90's and the quality of the new content is neither duplicate nor "low quality". We started noticing this happening around February. We also do not have many pages - maybe 500 maximum? I have looked at all the obvious answers (allowing for indexing, etc.), but just can't seem to pinpoint a reason why. Has anyone had this happen recently? It is getting very annoying having to manually go in and request indexing for every page and makes me think there may be some underlying issues with the website that should be fixed.

How to find orphan pages
Hi all, I've been checking these forums for an answer on how to find orphaned pages on my site and I can see a lot of people are saying that I should cross check the my XML sitemap against a Screaming Frog crawl of my site. However, the sitemap is created using Screaming Frog in the first place... (I'm sure this is the case for a lot of people too). Are there any other ways to get a full list of orphaned pages? I assume it would be a developer request but where can I ask them to look / extract? Thanks!

Does a no-indexed parent page impact its child pages?
If I have a page* in WordPress that is set as private and is no-indexed with Yoast, will that negatively affect the visibility of other pages that are set as children of that first page? *The context is that I want to organize some of the pages on a business's WordPress site into silos/directories. For example, if the business was a home remodeling company, it'd be convenient to keep all the pages about bathrooms, kitchens, additions, basements, etc. bundled together under a "services" parent page (/services/kitchens/, /services/bathrooms/, etc.). The thing is that the child pages will all be directly accessible from the menus, so there doesn't need to be anything on the parent /services/ page itself. Another such parent page/directory/category might be used to keep different photo gallery pages together (/galleries/kitchen-photos/, /galleries/bathroom-photos/, etc.). So again, would it be safe for pages like /services/kitchens/ and /galleries/addition-photos/ if the /services/ and /galleries/ pages (but not /galleries/* or anything like that) are no-indexed? Thanks!

Fake Links indexing in google
Hello everyone, I have an interesting situation occurring here, and hoping maybe someone here has seen something of this nature or be able to offer some sort of advice. So, we recently installed a wordpress to a subdomain for our business and have been blogging through it. We added the google webmaster tools meta tag and I've noticed an increase in 404 links. I brought this up to or server admin, and he verified that there were a lot of ip's pinging our server looking for these links that don't exist. We've combed through our server files and nothing seems to be compromised. Today, we noticed that when you do site:ourdomain.com into google the subdomain with wordpress shows hundreds of these fake links, that when you visit them, return a 404 page. Just curious if anyone has seen anything like this, what it may be, how we can stop it, could it negatively impact us in anyway? Should we even worry about it? Here's the link to the google results. https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Amshowells.com&oq=site%3A&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i57j69i58.1905j0j1&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8 (odd links show up on pages 2-3+)

Does anchor text penalty apply to internal links?
We already know that over optimsied anchor text for external will cause a penalty. But what about internal links? All of our blog posts include an advertisement linking sales pages. These links all use the exact same anchor text. Is linking to an internal page from so many other pages (blog posts) likely to trigger a penalty? Here is an example: http://www.designquotes.com.au/business-blog/four-ways-to-enhance-your-e-commerce-site-for-busy-shoppers/ This links to http://www.designquotes.com.au/web-design-quotes Many of the posts link to the same page using the anchor text "Compare Web Design Quotes from Local Designers."

How to get Google to index another page
Hi, I will try to make my question clear, although it is a bit complex. For my site the most important keyword is "Insurance" or at least the danish variation of this. My problem is that Google are'nt indexing my frontpage on this, but are indexing a subpage - www.mydomain.dk/insurance instead of www.mydomain.dk. My link bulding will be to subpages and to my main domain, but i wont be able to get that many links to www.mydomain.dk/insurance. So im interested in making my frontpage the page that is my main page for the keyword insurance, but without just blowing the traffic im getting from the subpage at the moment. Is there any solutions to do this? Thanks in advance.
