Unsolved Backlink updates
-
There are a large number of missing backlinks (old) which are not showing on Moz but do show on Ahrefs.
Is there a reason for this?
Thanks.

Find broken links on other websites in your niche. Use tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush to discover these opportunities. Once you identify a broken link, reach out to the website owner, inform them of the dead link, and suggest your site as a replacement.

@chriscjpi Each tool has its schedule for updating and refreshing its backlink database. One tool may update more frequently than the other, leading to differences in the reported data.
The frequency at which each tool's crawler visits and indexes websites can vary. If one tool crawls more frequently website like ivcam Crack, it may pick up on backlinks that the other tool hasn't discovered yet -

Differences in the backlink data provided by different tools like Moz and Ahrefs can be attributed to several factors. Each tool uses its own web crawlers and algorithms to gather and process data, leading to variations in the results. Here are some reasons why you might see differences in backlink data between Moz and Ahrefs:Crawling Frequency and Depth:
Each tool has its own crawling schedule and depth. Some tools may crawl the web more frequently or deeply than others, leading to variations in the backlinks they discover.
Crawling Sources:Tools may use different sources for crawling the web. They might have different partnerships, access to different websites, or utilize unique methods to discover backlinks.
Data Processing Algorithms:The algorithms used by each tool to process and filter backlink data may differ. This can result in variations in how they identify and report backlinks.
Quality and Accuracy of Data:The quality and accuracy of the data collection process play a crucial role. Some tools may have more sophisticated algorithms or better data filtering mechanisms, leading to more accurate results.
Index Updates:Tools update their backlink indexes at different intervals. Ahrefs and Moz may not update their indexes simultaneously, causing differences in the reported backlink data.
Blocked or Restricted Access:Some websites may block certain web crawlers or limit access to specific user agents. If one tool is blocked or restricted, it may miss certain backlinks that another tool can access.
Historical Data Differences:Historical data, especially for older backlinks, might not be as comprehensive or up-to-date in one tool compared to another.
It's common for discrepancies to exist between different SEO tools, and it's generally advisable to use multiple tools to cross-verify and get a more comprehensive view of your backlink profile. If you notice significant differences, it could be worthwhile to investigate the specific reasons behind those variations or consult the support/documentation of each tool for more insights. -
@globalstudy54 This is really well explained, thank you! The numbers for my site are different in both (and neither seem to actually be correct!). So definitely about seeing what both detectives have dug up and then adding a bit of your ow knowledge as well.

@skchad13j Absolutely! So, in the SEO world for my Educational Consultancy, think of Moz and Ahrefs like two detectives solving a case differently. They use unique methods to find and track backlinks. Sometimes, their findings don't match up exactly. To get the full picture, I'd recommend using both tools, sort of like having two detectives cross-checking each other’s work. It ensures we're not missing any clues about how our consultancy appears online and who's talking about us. It's all about getting that comprehensive view!

@skchad13j thank you!

The disparity in backlink data between Moz and Ahrefs can be attributed to differences in their web crawling and indexing algorithms. Each tool uses its own methodology to discover and track backlinks. Factors such as the frequency of updates, the sources they crawl, and the criteria for including backlinks in their databases can vary. It's not uncommon to observe variations between different SEO tools. To ensure comprehensive backlink analysis, it's advisable to use multiple tools and cross-reference the data.

I am hoping this is the right forum to ask this question. But, I was looking at my backlinks and noticed that I had some go to a page that resembles my site, but had porn words on it. however, it would link to a place on my site. Under more information it has a real link to my site. What is this? I noticed the domain authority was in I believe the 70's; but PA was in 40's. I am new, so can someone explain this. Thank you. example below:

How can I limit the impact of Google's mobile friendly updates on keyword rankings?
Hi everyone, I have a client on a monthly SEO package that is taking a hard hit in the rankings as their website is not mobile friendly. We are currently building a new website for them that will be fully responsive, but face the predicament of how to keep the current site performing relatively well in the rankings in the meantime. The site is generally well optimised and we always follow SEO best practices, so we've hit a bit of a stumbling block as to how to limit any negative impact the mobile friendly updates have on the site. Does anyone have any suggestions for damage limitation? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When is the Chrome MOZ-toolbar going to be updated? It flaws into other website designs.
Hey, The MOZ toolbar destroys the layout of a lot of sites, which makes it very annoying always switching from top to buttom, then back up, etc. from website to website. This doesn't happen here, but on really a lot of other websites.

This shouldn't take that much time to fix, could it? Please let me know when we could expect an upgrade, or at least let us know, that you are aware of the problem. Regards,

How often are there enough backlinks
Hello, I'm slowly finding backlinks for our niche site. 90% of the competition is using internal pages so mining competitors is hard. I'm mining sites that are in the backlinks of my competitors. Question: In cases like this, what percentage of the time do you think that it is possible to find enough backlinks to rank in the top 3? For example, is there always enough backlinks to rank high enough? Is there only enough half the time? I know this is a general question but maybe you could try the answer it followed by a statement of "why I gave this answer" Thanks!

I saw the note today that the link index did it's monthly update, yet our site www.oznappies.com still only shows 1 linking root domain and I know there are many more links now. What do I need to do to get open Site Explorer to use the latest data? I enter our site, create the report and only see old information from 6 may 2011's link index. I have the same issue with competive link finder, links I know we have on the sites listed for our competitors are not showing for our site.
