Solved How to reduce the spam score for my domain?
-
My domain longfeifei.com is for a regular company website and someone sent a lot of external links on different low-quality websites on the internet. Now the score is very high about 75%. If I disavow the unusual links from google search console. Is it possible to reduce the spam score? Is MOZ associated with GOOGLE Data?
Thanks,

@pollyb Heya Polly!
It's not uncommon to see this sort of thing when looking a backlink data at a granular level. The data isn't updated live as crawling and indexing the web is quite a heavy load on resources to it takes time to gather and "crunch"The most important thing here is to make sure that you're using the Spam Score tool and data in the most helpful way possible. If you're exploring spammy sites linking to your site, and you're finding that they don't exist then * dusts hands * job done.
Please also note that 'disavowing' links won't impact your own site's spam score as we don't have insight into which links are 'disavowed'.If you're investigating improving your own site's Spam Score then I would recommend taking some time to explore which of the 27 flags you are triggering. We have a great guide on our Help Hub outlining what you can do to reduce your Spam Score

To reduce spam in your domain, focus on improving email authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. Clean your email list regularly, avoid spammy language, and encourage recipients to engage with your emails by providing them with valuable content.

Hi! You can check satyanews To enhance your domain's backlink profile and reduce spam risk, prioritize high-quality, relevant backlinks from authoritative sites. Avoid link schemes or buying links, and disavow any harmful links. Regularly audit your backlink profile using tools like Google Search Console. Foster organic link growth through valuable content and genuine relationships.

Disavowing low-quality or spammy backlinks through Google Search Console can potentially help improve your website's spam score over time. When you disavow links, you're essentially telling Google to ignore those specific links when assessing your website's credibility and authority.
Create a Disavow File: For backlinks that you're unable to remove manually, create a disavow file containing a list of URLs or domains you want Google to ignore. Google provides guidelines on how to create and submit a disavow file. Submit Disavow File: Use Google's Disavow Tool within Google Search Console to submit your disavow file. This tells Google to disregard the specified links when assessing your website's backlink profile.

Thanks,Disavowing low-quality or spammy links in Google Search Console can help improve your website's overall quality and potentially reduce any negative impact on your site's ranking caused by those links. However, it's important to note that disavowing links doesn't guarantee an immediate or significant improvement in your site's performance. It may take some time for Google to recrawl your site and take the disavowed links into account.
Regarding Moz, it's important to understand that Moz is a separate entity from Google. Moz provides its own set of tools and metrics for analyzing websites and their backlink profiles. While Moz's metrics, such as Domain Authority and Spam Score, can be useful for evaluating the quality of your backlinks, they are not directly associated with Google's search algorithms or data.
Disavowing links in Google Search Console can help address issues with Google's search algorithms, but it won't directly affect metrics provided by Moz. However, improving the quality of your backlink profile can have a positive impact on both Google's rankings and metrics provided by other platforms like Moz.
In summary, disavowing spammy links in Google Search Console can be a step towards improving your site's performance and reducing any negative effects from low-quality backlinks. While Moz provides valuable insights into your site's backlink profile, it operates independently of Google's search algorithms. Focus on improving the overall quality and relevance of your website's content and backlink profile to achieve better results in both Google and other metrics provided by platforms like Moz.

I have reduced my spam score by just redirecting my deleted links to my website. Also, you can reduce your spam score by submitting your dead or removed URL to URL removal on Google search console.

@meghanpahinui your spam rank tool is terrible. Most of the websites linking to my domain don't even exist anymore, they are domains for sale. How can you give my website a bad note based on websites who don't exist, linking to pages 404? At leat the pages 404 should be taken into account. It doesn't make sense at all

Hi there!
Thank you so much for the great question and sorry for the confusion here! Moz's Spam Score is not calculated based on the Spam Scores of your inbound links but rather, it is the percentage of sites we have found to have been penalized or banned by Google which have similar on-site features.
If you're looking to improve your Spam Score on Moz, I would recommend checking out the 27 common features we identified through our machine learning model which make up this score. Working to improve those features on your site will help to improve your Spam Score. I also have a guide here from our Help Hub which talks more about Spam Score, the common features, and how to use this metric. https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-score
I hope this helps! If you have follow up questions, you can always email us at help@moz.com.

Hi Niaokun,
First, of Disavow the spammy links will help with how Google sees your website.
But to reduce your spam score on MOZ etc... you will need to contact the sites that have links you want removing and ask them to remove them. This can be time-consuming and doesn't always have a high success rate.
No MOZ and Google do not share data.
I hope this helps
Steve

Unsolved Spam Score Blank - Looking For Feasible Solution
Hi,
Link Explorer | | Jane090987
There is a question in my website. When I'm searching the number of spam score of my site, it shows "--".
In the official article it shows that the reason of "--" happens is that our site has not been evaluated by Moz. But there aren't any ways of solutions, seems that we can only wait - not knowing how long - for being evaluated.
Is there any way that I can get my site evaluated by Moz, and the spam score of my website can be displayed as an exact number?
Thanks for answering in advance!0 -
Moz Domain Authority 27
Hi there, I have been reading up about Domain Authority being important to rank though I have a question about it. When trying a few google searches and using a tool to see the Moz Domain Authority i notice the following. I won't mention sites or keywords, happy to send them via private message if required. A site ranks 1st position for most keywords including the main keyword that related to their industry, a highly competitive keyword. Their Moz Domain Authority 27, Est. Visits: 265,000, Pinterest shares 72, Facebook shares 191 and unique domains that point to it are 55. Yet when I look at another site, optimising for the same keyword, Moz Domain Authority 50, Est. Visits: 60,000, Pinterest shares 35000, Facebook shares 20000 and unique domains that point to it are 521. I would have thought that the second site ranks 1st for the keyword and the first one mentioned which is in 1st position I would have expected to be on page two or three. as I scroll down the first page for the term, all sites except for one have higher DA, visits, shares and so on. If a high PA is required can someone help me to understand the above example? Whn a low PA site ranks much better for a primary keyword than all other sites that have a higher PA than it?

One of my sites got hit with the exact match domain algo change in google.
one of my sites got hit with the exact match domain algo change in google. I was wondering if it would be trouble or beneficial to add about 10 directory links in the the highest page rank directories in the seomoz directory list. It looks like i only have about 17 root domains linking to my site so far that are natural links and not directory links. i have no directory links as of yet. Will this help or does it spell trouble getting this many directory links in a few months? Thanks mozzers! Ron

Incorrect domain authority result on SEO tool bar and OSE
The SEO tool bar is returning what I believe to be an incorrect domain authority of 71 and showing 24,356,141 lins from 153,051 domains. The OSE is also returning 71 as domain authority. Anyone know what could be doing this? Thanks. Jason
