Link Research Tools - Detox Links
-
Hi,
I was doing a little research on my link profile and came across a tool called "LinkRessearchTools.com". I bought a subscription and tried them out.
Doing the report they advised a low risk but identified 78 Very High Risk to Deadly (are they venomous?) links, around 5% of total and advised removing them. They also advised of many suspicious and low risk links but these seem to be because they have no knowledge of them so default to a negative it seems.
So before I do anything rash and start removing my Deadly links, I was wondering if anyone had a). used them and recommend them b). recommend detoxing removing the deadly links c). would there be any cases in which so called Deadly links being removed cause more problems than solve. Such as maintaining a normal looking profile as everyone would be likely to have bad links etc... (although my thinking may be out on that one...).
What do you think?

Let me answer your question exactly I apologize I went over again. Depending on how many total inbound domains you have if you have a lot take it with a salt shaker of salt. If you have very few take it very seriously. Also if you filled me in on exactly why it felt these domains were black or negative that would be a huge huge help as I am really flying blind here I have no URL I have absolutely nothing to go by but somebody telling me should I use this tool Jurmu 70 links? It's a fine question and I don't want to say that shouldn't be asked everything should be asked to hear that you want to know. However I failed and not asking you for a lot more information about your website. Prior can you give me your domain URL? Can you give me the results of your linked schools test? Can you give me the results of running into the URL I've Been asking for .
Do they actually match up? Then I can give you an honest answer that won't ruin your website possibly. I'm sorry if I sound crazy but there's a lot that goes into this man and I don't want to be
Responsible for hurting your website I hope you understand that., Respectfully ThomasSincerely,
Thomas

I do not think that you should submit a request based on what I know now. The tool itself like I said I have used it very infrequently I prefer other tools it does link well with very good other Seo tools however it is not my cup of tea
Please forgive any misspellings or anything that sound strange I had to write this on my cell phone and honestly probably made some mistakes so I apologize to you in advance for that
Well if you run your 70 links through Google's disavow link tool without trying to remove them first Google will most likely not help you in any way shape or form. You have to look at it like this Google wants you to actually try to remove the links prior to ever submitting a disavow. In fact they will most likely tonight a request or they will allow your request and not change your site ranking or possibly hurt it.
My answer about your tool is if used by somebody to evaluate anchor text, and many other aspects of what makes a link that it is a tool that has okay rankings. However finding out if the links are bad and getting rid of them are too very different things.
I have a couple questions. Did you compare the other automated tool that allows you to put your URL in with the information that you got from your link research tools results? If remove them and link research tools show the same amount of links that's a good sign. If they don't that's something to question about the tool. How many inbound domains you have pointing out your website right now if I may ask?
Is a group of 70 links going to add up to how many domains?
Why are you considering doing a request removal request when you have yet to remove any links or attempt to remove any links that you told me of the least have you?
In the future or right now giving me your site URL is a huge huge bonus and allowing me to answer this question a lot more thoroughly
Do I think that you soon submit your request and two I agree with that it will not hurt your website to use a Google disavow I disagree with that I think it will hurt your website quite a bit the reason why is right here
Both links are from very reputable sources you can check it. Here's another one that talks about if you were to receive a penalty or if you were to even submit a request. However you do have to deal with these links because as you said and I don't know how many total links that you have planned website so I can't make an educated guess but I imagine you want these things off Google will definitely evaluate your request and evaluate your website. Ducks must be in a row
Here is an example of what occurs when you submit the request
This is from Matt cuts people call him Google's seo guy is really head of Google's Web Spam team
http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2262933/Google-Reconsideration-Request-Guidelines-Example
If you have a few thousand domains pointing at your website. Then don't disavow if you have very few or less then 300. Take the time to actually have a professional give you a free evaluation and it could end up being that you have to remove many more links or no links or very few links you know I mean? That's why I was talking about the free evaluation of your website.
The other reason I was talking about a second tool is you want to crosscheck your first tool and make sure that it is in fact giving you the right information.
You said your website was affected by panda?
Google unfortunately is Artie watching every step you make literally they keep very very close tabs beyond personal tabs on everything that all of us do that are webmasters
Since the introduction of Panda, the first step in any marketing campaign is to make certain that your website architecture is sound and your content is unique and valuable. Follow that up with authorship to build author rank. Finally, execute a link building program that concentrates on the acquisition of relevant and editorially approved links.
Overall a review of that software. I check it out it seems alright nothing really special to me. I honestly like maws a lot, Majestic's fantastic Raven is great and then I use other specialized tools and a new love consultants when it comes to link removal. I hope I have been of help to you I know that you only wanted to know a little bit about software but it felt to me like you wanted to actually remove links and I wanted to make you aware of the dangers of doing so without knowing what exactly will happen if you do it.
Sincerely,
Thomas

Thomas,
I appreciate your time in writing that answer but I don't really want to be paying people instead of learning myself, that's the reason I'm here!
I have had a drop in rankings from Panda, and as a precaution I thought I would check to see if I'd been hit by any Penguin algorithm changes. Not enough to warrant an unnatural links penalty but just doing some housekeeping that would improve my overall status.
My question was, is it worth taking link research tools data on its own merits or should I take it with a pinch of salt.
Also running 78 links through the Google Disavow Site is no hard ship

Hi Adam,
I believe these tool is a quality tool. However having said that. There are of course aspects that an automated tool can never tell you if it's the right fit for your website. That tool does not know every single thing about your website and exactly how relevant all the links are to your website. It really takes an SEO with a good amount of knowledge to do this.
Link research tools is a fine product. If it were me and I was worried about bad links I would use something like this http://www.removeem.com/ instead of link research tools the reason I would do this is this company removeem is a sister company of http://www.virante.org/ a highly respected SEO company that is recommended by SEOmoz
there is a site I am working on right now it had roughly 20,000 links per page that were bad links I just put the domain through removeem.com and it gave me this basic information. Now this is free for any website, and I encourage you to put your website through it and compare the results.
"Via only 1 (domain) data source, we estimate about 1482 links with suspicious anchor text ignoring 5224 safe links automatically. Some of these may need to be removed!"
The big difference here is we have 5 people working on this particular case above this is a very complex and extremely hard to fix issue I'm speaking about the data that you're looking the above.
The thing I would like to know is if you want these links removed and you should remove them if you can. How do you want to go about this?
The benefits of the site removeem.com are it gives you two options 1st is self-serve where they do not charge you nearly as much because you get templates and advice on how to write the webmasters that are hosting the offending links. I don't believe LinkRessearchTools provides that that however I could be wrong.
To be completely forthright with you about what I think's going to happen from doing this stuff. Unfortunately, you can have the best detection tools in the world, and it is fantastic that you are looking out for your site. However it is extremely hard to actually get one of these people to remove the links. Why? Most of them are running sites that are no longer indexed there just sitting on a server, and there's no one at home essentially. Or they're getting bombarded with the same requests and just don't care.
For instance I know many people bribe the offending link webmaster to get rid of links it's not pretty, but it works. I wouldn't suggest that unless it was dire to your business.
in cases like this you want professional to look over your website and tell you if there's an issue or not. If they are actually the links are that evil or if there even going to be able to be removed without using Google's disavowal tool. If you want in my opinion the best answer to that. I would be more than happy to help you at the same time
please feel free to

The offer that Portent has right now is something that I don't think you're going to find Anywhere very easily. To get somebody of their expertise to locate your website and give you a straight response is worth a lot of money and because they're willing to give you this evaluation I would help them by sending an information from LinkRessearchTools on what prompted you to believe that they are toxic links.
I would also use http://builtwith.com/ and put your URL in there's no cost and this tool will show them exactly what type of website you are running. All these things are of course important, and I believe that this will be the best answer to your question.
It might not hurt to run your site through this for free as well however I want to explain to you the tools that Portent has developed in-house for this are far more complex than any of the ones that were talking about. however it would be wise to see if LinkRessearchTools and
Are each showing the same amount of links roughly. Or errors
If I have left anything out or if you need assistance in any manner please feel free to contact me regarding this.
I do believe it is smart to remove any toxic links before Google comes and tells you to remove them. However, the smartest thing to do is have your website assessed by some of the best in the industry, and they will tell you quickly rather not you need to act quickly or if you can to some simple things Fix anything that might be a problem.
I hope I have been of help to you and please know If I can be of more assistance to.
Sincerely,
Thomas

What do you think of the service though would you trust it's results?
Adam

this would be such more complicated question than what I think is intended to be. I would need to look at the links. Equate that with the entire website and then decide rather not it's wise to move forward removing links that you have not received a penalty for. to I think you should remove them if you can easily yes definitely. If you only have a few links that won't be hard to fix if you have a ton it will be a nightmare.
Let me know if I can be of help,
Tom

If I nofollow outbound external links to minimize link juice loss > is it a good/bad thing?
OK, imagine you have a blog, and you want to make each blog post authoritative so you link out to authority relevant websites for reference. In this case it is two external links per blog post, one to an authority website for reference and one to flickr for photo credit. And one internal link to another part of the website like the buy-now page or a related internal blog post. Now tell me if this is a good or bad idea. What if you nofollow the external links and leave the internal link untouched so all internal links are dofollow. The thinking is this minimizes loss of link juice from external links and keeps it flowing through internal links to pages within the website. Would it be a good idea to lay off the nofollow tag and leave all as do follow? or would this be a good way to link out to authority sites but keep the link juice internal? Your thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

Removed Site-wide links
Hi there, I have recently removed quite a lot of site-wide links leaving the only link on homepage's of some websites, since doing this I have seen a dramatic drop on my keywords, going from position 2-3 to nowhere. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, should I expect to see a return on these keywords? Thanks

Increasing Internal Links But Avoiding a Link Farm
I'm looking to create a page about Widgets and all of the more specific names for Widgets we sell: ABC Brand Widgets, XYZ Brand Widgets, Big Widgets, Small Widgets, Green Widgets, Blue Widgets, etc. I'd like my Widget page to give a brief explanation about each kind of Widget with a link deeper into my site that gives more detail and allows you to purchase. The problem is I have a lot of Widgets and this could get messy: ABC Green Widgets, Small XYZ Widgets, many combinations. I can see my Widget page teetering on being a link farm if I start throwing in all of these combos. So where should I stop? How much do I do? I've read more than 100 links on a page being considered a link farm, is that a hardline number or a general guideline?

Does 302 pass link juice?
Hi! We have our content under two subdomains, one for the English language and one for Spanish. Depending on the language of the browser, there's a 302 redirecting to one of this subdomains. However, our main domain (which has no content) is receiving a lot of links - people rather link to mydomain.com than to en.mydomain.com. Does the 302 passing any link juice? If so, to which subdomain? Thank you!
