Does it makes any difference if i use 's' at the end of keyword.
-
In terms of ranking and other stuff, how does adding 's' at the end of a keyword works ?
For example - 'Custom Cases' in place of 'Custom Case'
I am getting different results as well for both. Please advice....
-
I usually go for the plural if I can because it includes the possibility of the singular being hit. However, there are some terms that the plural and the singular versions have two distinct linguistic intent. Google will eventually get smart about this and has already in some cases, but for products like you're describing above, I usually try to do the plural version if at all possible.

Thanks Alan. I am going to use BOTH for now and will share results here as well after few month !

I find you will rank for both anyhow, if you look at keywords in google, you will see a keyword like company (2 versions), meaning you have company and comanies on your site.
I would try to put both in like rob said, it looksa more natural, search engines analyze the page for words that should support your keywords to see if your content is natural

If you do not want to have two pages, one singular and one plural, I would set up my SEO for the one with the most queries if I thought I could handle the competition and rank for the term. If I felt I would have more chance of ranking and converting with the lesser queries, I might set it up for that.
One way I look at this is to do broad and exact match to see what the difference is on each term. As an exact match (see Andrew's response) Custom cases gets more than double the queries, but the broad match custom case wins 165K to 135K. My guess is that I would go with custom cases and I believe I would be served up more times in broad match. Just IMO.
With either case, I would also insure there was the opportunity to rank for both by including say an H2 on the secondary, etc. (also use that keyword within context in the page).
You, obviously, could set up two pages if you felt one would not dilute the other. I always worry about dilution on plurals though.

Thanks Andrew !
Now the question which arise here is, which of the 2 is better for SEO purpose and other metrics, adding 's' or just simple...
Cheers !

HI Ankit,
Adding a S as you mentioned will produce different results and thus different competition for your SEO campaign. So, if you want to rank higher for 'custom case' create content about a 'custom case' and build links with that anchor text.
In your example, 'custom case' based on the Google Keyword Tool gets 720 searches, whereas 'custom cases' gets 1600.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Andrew

How do you select which keywords to push in SEO?
Hi Guys Selecting the right keywords that a website can realistically rank for is a key to gain top rankings relatively quick. I am just curious to hear how you guys do it (the methodology) when selecting which keywords to push? I mean you need to check the competition for each keyword as well so how to check this quickly to see what we realistically can rank for? Cheers John

Image attatched... How is it possible to rank on Google Norway for spot nr.1 (page in English language) and spot nr.2 (page in Norwegian language) , when all you competitors have higher PA, DA and a lot more backlinks and better on-page optimization according to MOZ? Is there something I´m misunderstanding?

Difference between Searches and Impressions
I've been using the Bing Ad Intelligence tool (which is great!), but I'm confused about one of the metrics and even the Microsoft customer support guy wasn't too clear. I search on "wills and trusts" and I get results that say there are 2,347 searches, and 7,228 impressions. How can there be more (ad) impressions than there were searches? If it was 5 searches and 1 impression, I'd assume that meant an ad didn't appear for all the searches. Makes sense. But 1 search and 2 impressions ... how does that happen? Appreciate any help, probably a dumb question but has me puzzled. Also, I hope non-Moz tool questions are appropriate. Thanks!

How much keyword density for Google?
I have several pages on one site which have gone down during the past few months. They keyword density on those pages, which is not unnatural, pleased Google for many years. it still pleases Bing. But Google now seems very picky. Based upon your experience, what is the ideal % keyword density for 2 and 3 word phrases, and should they be left out of alt tags even when proper to put them there? While Google dominates, we do not wish to alienate BIng/Yahoo. It is a huge mystery, and experimentation with more non-keyword-related text has so far not born any fruit. Thank you, GH

What is the difference between "external backlinks" & "referring domains" on Majestic SEO?
According to Majestic SEO's glossary, a "Referring domain, also known as "ref domain", is a domain from which a backlink is pointing to a page or link." Given this definition, I'm not sure what an external backlink is?
