Word count requirement
-
The on page optimization tool recommends a minimum word count of 50. Given the panda update, what word count would you recommend? Would that count vary if a photo appeared on the page, too?
-
When you have visitor submitted pages, you don't control the amount of content. I'm just trying to assess how much I need to add to those pages to make them unique pages/better quality. Thank you for your response.
-
Well can you create great content with 50 words, or not?
Seo is no exact science, and hell google knows that not every page has to have 500 words.
But my recommendation would be atleast 150-200.

Totally inaccurate keyword count show on page grader
I've just published a detailed (3000+ words) blog post on AI music and what it means for musicians and artists. It is optimised for the term "AI music" and you can see it here: https://www.scamblermusic.com/ai-music-the-pros-and-cons-explained-by-ai/ When I search the source code of the blog post for "AI music" I see 19 references: code.png When I search the text in the browser window for "AI music" I see 12 references, yet when I run the Moz page grader to check my optimisation Moz downgrades the rating because it's counting 69 keywords: Moz.png I can't work out what Moz is seeing that I am not. Am I missing something really obvious, or is Moz just screwing up (something I haven't seen before with word count)?

Many of my pages are showing up as 4xx errors because they require a login/subscription to view. How can I fix this?
Should these pages be redirecting to a login page? Or does there need to be something other than an Access Denied message? I feel like these are bringing the overall site score down.

Organic key word ranking
I just noticed we are ranking above our leading competitor for the key words “Joint Care”. Comparing the stats I see the PA for our page is 14, whereas their’s is 18 . (also their DA is 42 whereas ours is 35). So I’m not 100% sure as to why we are ahead of them, is this due to us having 10 links whereas they only have 4 links to the respective pages? jointcarerating.jpg.html

Matt Cutts or No Action Is Required
Here's the deal. I got a message in the Manual Action section in GWT: Unnatural links to your site—impacts links On one hand, Matt Says that I need to do my best to take down links on sites that Google hinted me about (I've got a sample link) and it that does not work, I can apply the Disavow tool. Matt says it on this page in his video: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2604772?ctx=MAC On the other hand, if you take a look at the text on the same page, it says that I'm not supposed to do anything at all if I got this message. Here's the quote: "If you don't control the links pointing to your site, no action is required on your part. From Google's perspective, the links already won't count in ranking. " I am not sure why I need to apply the Disavow tool if, " the links already won't count in ranking".

Word count
How important is word count? I am using seomoz to make sure I get an A, but it does not include word count. I am in the middle of restructuring my website and I did not know if the word count is way too low. I am using the key phrase the recommended amount of times http://azbestlistings.com/mesa-az-homes-for-sale-mesa-real-estate What is your formula that works?

Do alt tags count towards on page keyword density?
Hello...I have written a bunch of content for my site using a useful tool called Scribe SEO which recommends keyword density at 5% if I remember correctly. So all my my newly written content is below this level but I am left wondering if by adding alt tags with my chosen keywords I will be considered to be over the limit and cause a red flag? Can anyone clarify this for me please?

Do videos count as duplicate content?
If we allow users to embed our videos on their site, would that count as duplicate content? I imagine note, given that Google can't usually 'see' the content of videos, but just want to double check.
