Is there a pinging tool to ping all sites at once
-
hi, i am just wondering if there is a tool that you can put on your toolbar that allows you to ping all the sites at once. The last thing i want to keep doing is to go through every single one and ping my article. I would like to find a tool that does it all for me, can anyone let me know if there is one out there.
many thanks

we get a great deal of traffic from huffington post as they run with a lot of our stories which is great, so a huge amount of traffic from there and from other sites. But i want to try and tap into the bookmarking sites as well as the ping services

i get a lot of traffic from stumble, digg, was getting a load of traffic from reddit but stopped using it as it was not the market i was going for.
what i would like to do is, to have a tool in my desktop where i can just ping to all the sites at once, and then have one where i can ping to all the bookmarking sites at once as well.

i bought one joomla plugin for the ping and it broke my site, was bringing up errors. i bought that a few weeks ago and sent the owners a few emails for support asking what the problem was and never received an email back. i contacted them again today and still not received any reply from them.
seems they are happy to take your money but not to reply.

Pinging is not the same as submitting your post to a social bookmarking site. There are other tools to do that.
Are you submitting to bookmarking sites now? Are you seeing any traffic from them in Google Analytics? If you're not seeing any traffic, I wouldn't worry too much about finding the perfect solution and I'd just spend your time focusing on the content itself.

thanks for that david, just tried it.

hi zachary. I have used ping o matic in the past, but i am looking for something that will ping all the major ping services as well as posting my info on all the bookmarking sites that are available. pingfm was a good one until they changed. I work in joomla so would not have a clue on how to write my own script to do this for me. many thanks

Is this for one of your Joomla sites? Have you searched in the extensions directory for Joomla? A search for [joomla bing] turns up plugins that will automatically ping services when you publish an article.

http://pingomatic.com/ is a very popular one. Keep in mind that many platforms such as WordPress do this automatically for you.
If you need a larger list, you should write your own script to do so. Pinging a list of URLs would be very easy to do. Ping O Matic should do the job, however.
As far as using a browser addon, why would you need that?

Webmaster Tools stopped updating my sites
On Feb 6th WMT stopped updating the stats for my two main sites. I have seen other people complain about this but it seems like it's not known what causes it or if it's by design. Does anyone here have any insight on this issue? Thanks, Greg Davis AntiqueBanknotes

Any need to worry about spammy links in Webmaster Tools from sites that no longer exist?
I own an ecommerce website that had some spammy stuff done on it by an SEO firm through SEOLinkVine a few years ago. I'm working on removing all those links, but some of the sites no longer exist. I'm assuming I don't have to worry about disavowing those in Webmaster Tools? Thanks!

Poor Site Performance
Hello, A couple of months ago, this site was dropped from google due to a noindex, nofollow tag thewealthymind(dot)com It's back up, but performing poorly. Take for example the term "The 4 step belief change" in the home page title tag. This site is the #1 authority on that and yet it ranks 3rd below weaker pages. There's 180 404 errors in GWT, many from past versions of pages of the site but also including thewealthymind(dot)com/index.html and thewealthymind(dot)com/index.htm even though there is a rel=cononical tag on the home page. What's the process of getting this site back to health?

Crawling a subfolder with a dev site
I am trying to set up a campaign where I am crawling a subfolder of our main site where I have dev version of the new site. However, even though the new site resolves and I have included the full resolving URL but the crawl results come back saying that only one page has been crawled. The site has had a protected block on it for a period of time but this has now been removed. Any ideas? Thanks Nick

Ping Services for Wordpress
I have been trying to research adding ping services to the default list in wordpress, which only includes http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ A lot of the articles that I have come across seem to be quite old, can anyone tell me if this is still relevant and if so, which services do you find to be worthwhile using? Thanks

Partial Site Move -- Tell Google Entire Site Moved?
OK this one's a little confusing, please try to follow along. We recently went through a rebranding where we brought a new domain online for one of our brands (we'll call this domain 'B' -- it's also not the site linked to in my profile, not to confuse things). This brand accounted for 90% of the pages and 90% of the e-comm on the existing domain (we'll call the existing domain 'A') . 'A' was also redesigned and it's URL structure has changed. We have 301s in place on A that redirect to B for those 90% of pages and we also have internal 301s on A for the remaining 10% of pages whose URL has changed as a result of the A redesign What I'm wondering is if I should tell Google through webmaster tools that 'A' is now 'B' through the 'Change of Address' form. If I do this, will the existing products that remain on A suffer? I suppose I could just 301 the 10% of URLs on B back to A but I'm wondering if Google would see that as a loop since I just got done telling it that A is now B. I realize there probably isn't a perfect answer here but I'm looking for the "least worst" solution. I also realize that it's not optimal that we moved 90% of the pages from A to B, but it's the situation we're in.
