World Localities in AdWords?
-
If I target the topic "World Localities>San Antonio", what type of sites my ads will be display? Are they sites about San Antonio, like tourism guides or event listings? Or are they related to San Antonio, like a university or flower shop in San Antonio?
-
You can actually look this up in Google Display Planner. Log into your Adwords account and go to Tools and Analysis > Display Planner. Select the topic for World Localities>San Antonio under the Individual targeting ideas tab. "Texas > San Antonio" should show up in the box in the upper right. Now, select The Placements subtab, and Sites. this will give you a list of sites Google thinks is relevant to this topic. The top ten are <a class="sMDB" title="sanantonio.com">sanantonio.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="kens5.com (MojoPages.com, Multiple locations)">kens5.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="beaumontenterprise.com">beaumontenterprise.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="thesanantonioriverwalk.com">thesanantonioriverwalk.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="tubetexas.com">tubetexas.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="mywesttexas.com">mywesttexas.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="riverwalkguide.com">riverwalkguide.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="hillcountrycurrent.com">hillcountrycurrent.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="zacktravel.com">zacktravel.com, </a><a class="sMDB" title="corsicanadailysun.com">corsicanadailysun.com.</a>
Of all Google's targeting options, I've had the least success with Topics. I'd recommend picking sites from the list that appears, and target them directly via Placements, or pages within those sites if they're not all about San Antonio. Topic targeting is specific to every page, so if you use it, your ads won't appear across all the domains above, but only on pages deemed by Google to be relevant to this topic. I just think it doesn't work that well yet. I've used it with success with other targeting options like interest categories. For example, you could pick an interest category for Travel, and then combine it with this topic to hit travelers reading about San Antonio. Pretty cool, right?
Also, be aware that the default location settings for Adwords will show ads to people around the world looking for San Antonio, as opposed to people specifically located in San Antonio. If that's important to you, make sure to expand the Advanced location settings in the campaign settings, and correct that.

Do IP and/or DNS changes impact Paid search (Adwords, Bing, etc.)
What impact (if any) does IP or DNS changes, have on paid search campaigns? We recently performed an upgrade to our sites that required a datacenter change (but within the same region East US) and DNS change. We believe there may have been an impact to our ad campaigns in the form of suppression of our ads following the change, specifically - Google Adwords. Is there any information regarding this issue or has anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Google Analytics showing my Adwords campaign bounce rate at 0%
I am relatively new to Adwords, and I can't figure out why the Adwords section of Analytics is showing all my site visitors at 0% bounce rate. Does that mean the account connection is not done right? Obviously Google ads are not a 0% bounce rate. If I can't get that to work, does anyone know how Google ads appear in Traffic? Is it Direct or Referral? I'm sure there's some simple answer I'm just not aware of, I would appreciate anyone's help. Thanks!

Does having redirects in a Adwords text ad destination URL hurt quality scores?
I recently noticed that one of my clients had several redirects in their Adwords text ad destination URLs. I updated the destination URLS to land on the final location (thereby losing all the text ad history). However I'm wondering if this could have any impact on the text ad quality scores (none of them were disapproved).

AdWords quality score of landing pages and subdomains popularity
Hello, I have an AdWords account whose landing pages point to (i.e.) http://www.domain.com/landing01.php I've been using this account for ages, it has a good score and history, so I want to keep it. The first question is: may I use landing pages on different subdomains within the same AdWords account (and in the same root domain)? I.E. (http://cheese.domain.com/landing01.php and http://wine.domain.com/landing02.php) 2nd question: the www subdomain has good subdomain metrics (authority /trust and, generally, links) while the "cheese" subdomain has not (no backlinks at all). Do I get any benefit in Adwords (like quality score or other) if I publish my landing pages under a subdomain with better subdomain metrics (or number of links)? Or should I just go with http://cheese.domain.com even it has no authority at all? Thank you, DoMiSoL Rossini

AdWords training resources
Hi guys, Aside from Google certification, can anyone suggest a good training program for Adwords? I'm studying their materials, but more formal training, where I can be tested in my knowledge and improve in certain areas as necessary. I want something with videos with demonstrations. Going from organic SEO to SEM and am frightened! Thanks,

How Can I Target Certain Countries in Google AdWords without Excluding Other Countries?
So, here is the situation: Our company works with merchants worldwide (with the exception of those who live in excluded high-risk countries--mostly in Africa), but most of our Google AdWords leads come from Indian merchants. My CEO wants our campaigns to convert leads from other countries (i.e., the UK, Germany, US, Canada, Australia, etc.), but I have no idea how to do that without excluding India. However, my CEO does not want to exclude India from our AdWords campaigns as the leads are profitable. We simply want more diversity with out leads in terms of geographic location. I am sure there are resources on the Web about how to do this, but I am not an Adwords expert and am unsure of what phrases to search to find the answers. Direct advice or helpful links are much appreciated. Regards,
