We have multiple locations business.
Adding each location business info to directories. There are same services and everything for each location.Should we keep the same description for all listings or different for each location?
Should we indicate Home Page URL (with 800 number, no address in footer) or location URL? -

There are several reasons for building out a strong landing page for each physical office that you own. In short order, these are:

A local landing page tells the residents of that city that you are here to serve them and care enough about them to have devoted a page on your website to them. It can speak to their direct needs and show that you are local to them.

A local landing page can improve your search engine results visibility, as opposed to expecting the bots to rank all of your cities by glancing at your homepage. Just like the old SEO concept of building out a page per topic/keyword set, building a page for each of your physical cities creates a body of data that makes it very clear to bots that you've got something important going on, surrounding that city keyword.

For multi-location businesses, having a unique page for each physical office can help keep your data separate and clear, reducing the risk of ending up with duplicate or merged local business listings.
To my mind, these are all really good reasons for local businesses to invest in create an incredibly good and unique page for each of their physical locations. I've found it to be well worth the investment! You might like to read more about this concept of local landing pages at:

The location page is just contact information. Has no other content. It's repair services. Not sure if we can add some content there and how. As local blog posts? But we have the company blog already.
The home page is a optimized landing page. I'd rather use it from marketing stand point.
Does URL really effect the local SEO? I thougth domain autority would be the goal. Am I wrong?

Questions is will URL address effect on Local Optimization, so we better use location URL /or we better focus on domain authority and send all link juice to Home Page? Please explain algorithm behind it if u know.
Why do unique description matter for local optimization?
We have the same services and all the same. It would be hard to write 10 different stories describing our company history and philosophy and services for 10 locations. Can u please explain.Thank you

It's definitely smart to write a different description for each citation you build on local business directories, if possible. Additionally, it's a best practice for each citation to link to a page on the website that is designated for that location. In other words, your local business listing for your restaurant in San Jose should link to a page on your website just for that San Jose location, with the local phone number, address, etc. Your restaurant in Santa Clara's listing should link to the Santa Clara page on your website, etc. This helps keep everything separate and cuts down on the chances of humans and bots becoming confused.
*This is likely obvious, but each location should have a separate local area code phone number and none of them should be using a toll free number. Just thought I'd mention!

Why won't a business show up in the local pack when all signs point to that it should?
Hello! I've been trying to figure out why a business won't show up in the local pack even though their GMB has more reviews, seems to be doing everything right, and just doesn't show. The business is "A Senior Journey", and should be showing up for searches relating to "senior placement services tucson" or "senior placement tucson", but no dice. Been doing a competitor analysis and they are doing better or on par with all of their competitors. The same businesses in Tucson that are competitors show up both times, even Phoenix locations, but not A Senior Journey...any ideas? Thank you!

How do I rank for a different business categories on google local?
Hello, How do I appear on the local listings for google in different categories or services that I offer? For instance, we're a physical therapy clinic by trade but we specialize in orthopedics, sports medicine, and lower back pain. Thus, how do I rank on google local for these types of services? Currently, we rank for physical therapy but we also miss out on a big part of our business by not ranking for these listings on local. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Optimal URL Structure for a Multi-City Directory
I need help choosing the ideal URL structure for a multi-city directory. The current URL structure is /category which is okay because we are only in one geography. However, we're now expanding to other cities so we are reevaluating the best way of structuring the URL. The three options I have are: example.com/city/category Pro: Follows the user around with the city after the root (like language) Con: Possible short-term traffic loss. Build page authority on new URLs Pro: SEO Benefit for terms: {city category} example.com/city/ would have to be a URL and a general landing page. This would mean that /category would no longer exist example.com/category/city The website is currently set-up with /category but is now expanding beyond Toronto Pro: /category would still exist so no short-term SEO issues Pro: SEO Benefit for terms: {general category} example.com/category/ is already a URL and would display results based on proximity example.com/category (geo recognizes city) Pro: Clean URL Con: We're not Ticketmaster I was able to find major directory sites with very strong SEO doing it all three ways above. GMB 'Located In' Feature
Hello - can anyone provide some guidance on how to remove a 'Located in' field from a GMB listing? This has appeared in a client's GMB listing - but the other location is separate and so it is not applicable. I have worked out how to add a 'Located in' feature - but not remove it. How to Have Multiple Listings appear on Google maps
Hi my client has two locations for his restaurants: Me Gusta Tacos He wants to have both his locations show up in the map pack, which they currently do when you type in Restaurants, Dinner, food near me etc... However, when you google Me Gusta Tacos the Google listing shows up on the right for one of his locations, but there isn't a Map Pack for his two locations. Radius Size around GMB location for google local search
We are a digital marketing agency Our clients are (virtually all) retail automotive dealerships. We compete in various market places coast to coast (USA). Since Google puts retail automotive dealerships under Local SEO umbrella, is it known ( published ) how large is the radius around my client's Google My Business rooftop's address? How wide is their search 'reach' according to Google? Asked another way, in a triangular, three SEO geo area, with one city being at the epicenter of the population dispersion, and my client, versus my client's competitors being different distances from where the majority of the population emanates from, all other SERP factors being equal (assumption) between the two competitors, how far is each clients REACH from a Local Search standpoint. Improve Google Business ranking
While my client's websites have been ranking well in SERP for their keyterms I'm at a lost on what I can do to improve their Google business/map presence. I'm referring to their listing where the top three come up or when you search on Google Maps.

Now they're ranked 1st in search yet 2nd for local business rankings as you can see from the screenshot above. At one point my client's business did have more reviews than the 1st ranking business yet they still weren't 1st. Ex. 2. Client(s) is ranked 4th in search and doesn't show in the top 3 map listings for their search term. If you click on More places to view Google Maps they're listed all the way down as the 15th listing or worse can't even be found when searching by their main SEO key term . Of course they are found by searching for their business name so it's not like there is a problem with the listing. I make sure to: Completely fill out their Google Business profile(NAP, hours and add pictures) Have my client try to gain positive reviews Manage and respond to reviews(mainly the negative ones) Add map and Google business link to their website Can anyone offer any other insight on what else can be done to improve their local presence on maps that I might be missing?0 -
Is eLocal a scam or legitimate directory for local SEO?
I just got an email from eLocal with information that is way farther off than any other email I have received from directories I know. I ran a search on them, and it definitely seems fishy. Plus, it's not showing up as a problem in my Moz Local account. However, I don't want an inconsistent listing if this is a legitimate site I should correct. Anyone have experience with them?
