Reverse IP Lookup

I have a client that has over 90,000 incoming links from a single IP address. I can't figure out who's linking to them.
I've used several different reverse IP lookup tools and can tell that the server is in Europe and ISP is AT&T Global Network Services Nederland B.V.. (http://www.ip-adress.com/reverse_ip/194.196.0.36) Says there's 0 hosts on that IP.
Any suggestions?

According to Matt Cutts here, you will not do anything wrong with disavowing the links.

The duplicate bookmarks article is interesting and a possible root cause. I can't see what host or pages are linking to my client's site at all. I just know there are 90,160 inbound links from a single source (at 1194.196.0.36) to the home page. But the second discussion you posted seems like it might be a feasible explanation as well. Just no way to know for sure...
I'm wondering if I should ignore or disavow these links. I don't see any drastic change in visitor behavior recently, but given the client is fairly new, I have no idea how long these links have been around. What do people think? Should I ignore or disavow?

I know this is really a longshot, but i found this: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/apple/icloud-bug-creates-thousands-of-duplicate-bookmarks/12084. Given that the IP is supposed to be registered to Apple, and that it does not appear to have a host. Could it perhaps be that this is an iCloud server that has a ton of links/bookmarks to your site? I know it's a stretch but still...
If you click on the entry in GWT, are you able to see what subpages are linking your way? And are the links to your site direct links, or do they show as "via intermediate links"? If so, then it could be that someone has scraped your site. Or could it be that your client (or you clients hosting provider) has some sort of backup server or test/staging environment that resides on this IP and that for some reason was available to GoogleBot? See http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/54100/gwmt-show-non-existent-backlinks-via-intermediate-link.
This is just me guessing, to please don't take this as definitive answers/solutions...

Thanks for helping. I notice that too, yet can't seem to find any evidence of Apple linking to my client.
I also used the link DTOX tool to see if they had a record of 90k incoming links from a single source. No luck.
I emailed at&t global network to see if they could help, and they want to see server logs of abusive links. I don't have that. All I have is an entry in Google webmaster tools saying we have 90,000 incoming links from 194.196.0.36.
I'm feeling stuck if you have any other suggestions. You or anyone else viewing this post....

According to one of the websites I used, I found that the IP range is owned by At&t Global Network Services Nederland B.v as you said.
Using http://www.iplocationtools.com/194.196.0.36.html I found that this IP is reproted to belong to apple.com. Same goes when going to http://ipaddress.is/194.196.0.36#.U85nh7HzlyI
Does that make any sense?

Redirect By IP location
Hi All, I have a client who operates in multiple countries with the sub directory structure. In AU for their main brand name .com site still ranks in the first position but /au ranks for most of the other terms. Current we have a 301 redirect in place for .com for anyone accessing the site from AU to /au. This is only for home pages as other .com pages don't rank in Australia. Just wondering what implication this can have on our SEO campaign. Cheers

Content Based on User's IP Address
Hello, A client wants us to create a page on two different sites (www.brandA.com/content and www.brandB.com/content) with similar content and serve up specific content to users based on their IP addresses. The idea is that once a user gets to the page, the content would slightly change (mainly contact information and headers) based on their location. The problem I am seeing with this is that both brandA and brandB would be different Urls so there is a chance if their both optimized for the similar terms then they would both rank and crowd up the search results (duplicate content). Have you seen something similar? What are your thoughts and/or potential solutions? Also, do you know of any sites that are currently doing something similar?

Moving to Dynamic IP
Hi all, We are going to use CDN with geographically distributed IPs. However the website has strong positions in local search in UK and in regular search for geo kwds. Is it possible that with moving to from UK static IP to dynamic IPs can affect positions in Google? Thanks, Jane

Does server location (IP) help with international SEO?
If I have a .com.br domain with all my content in Portuguese, will it make a difference if I host in the US or if I host on a server in Brazil? I thought I had the answer to this from Rand in one of his Whiteboard Fridays a while back where he said hosting in the target country would help, but the lady who did the international SEO presentation in MozCon 2011 said any SEO who says this helps doesn't know international SEO. Can anybody point me to a case study on this? I have US and Brazilian dedicated servers but I'd prefer to get rid of the Brazil server expense.

Is IP-Hosting an effective and worthy SEO solution?
I have seen few websites selling same package of IP-Hosting, I consider that kind of smart SEO solution if it really be effective, But I have doubt. I have a few websites using a dedicated server for 6 years with only 1 valid IP and with that experience, I think rich content, title tags and anchor links are most important factors but I never tried such IP SEO, has any one tried IP hosting? Then comes second questions, If you have experienced and recommend IP Hosting, the reasonable application could be wordpress to manage all the sites in diffrent servers, and by using plugins such as autoblog or RSS importer we can update all the sites with minimum effort, But the problem is that neither of these 2 plugins are really working hassle free, They do not work at all or they stop wroking all the sudden, preferably I need a solution for Wordpress multisite Would you offer any alternative? I appreciate if you share your ideas... P.S.: My objective to apply IP hosting is not geo-targeting I use to launch .COMs normally without any particular geo-target.

The effect of same IP addresses on SERPs
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the following. If I was ranking number 1 for a term, what would the effects be of creating another site, hosted on the same server / IP, same whois info, same URL but a different TLD, and trying to get this to rank for the term also. Does G restrict search results to one IP per page or is this perfectly possible? (The term is fairly uncompetitive) Thanks, Ben

Geotargeting a folder in GWT & IP targeting
I am curently managing a .com that targets Canada and we will soon be launching a .com/us/ that will target the US. Once we launch the /us/ folder, we want to display the /us/ content to any US IP. My concern is that Google will then only index the /us/ content, as their IP is in the US. So, if I set up .com and .com/us/ as two different sites in GWT, and geotarget each to the Country it is targeting, will this take care of the problem and ensure that Google indexes the .com for Canada, and the /us/ for the US? Is there any alternative method (that does not include using the .ca domain)? I am concerned that Google would not be able to see the .com content if we are redirecting all US traffic to .com/us/. Any examples of this online anywhere?
