Hi Ramesh,
Being able to access your website using the IP address is very common and there is nothing that you should be worried about in this regard. It happens when you are hosting your site on a dedicated IP. This won't be the case if you go for a shared hosting where the IP address would be shared among other websites.
Best,
Devanur Rafi.

Hi Ramesh,
Chris is absolutely right there's no way your IP address is creating content
Your site is accessible through using DNS domain name servers your IP address is translated by a computer DNS server into something that you can remember like example.com instead of 123.488.91.00
It has no way of creating duplicate content
Regardless you do want to use a
Tags for every valid webpage that you want to show up in Google search engine.

Ramesh,
It's not a problem that you site opens when you type in the IP address--that's normal.

Hello,
You can add the next lines to your .htaccess to overcome the duplicate content on Serach Engines.
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^82.223.246.132
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.*/index.html
RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
This is for auto WWW, auto redirect from www.domain.com/index.php[or]index.html to www.domain.com
I hope this helped you!

Canonicalization, does it still index
If I have 2 pages that are identical but on different domains that our team manages, if we place a rel=canonical tag on the page we prefer/should display, will the page that doesn't have the canonical tag still be indexed and show on SERPs?

Different Domains on Same IP
Hello I'm just wondering how much of a difference it makes having links to a site from 2 separate domains that are on the same IP, compared to if the domains were on separate IPs? Thank you! Sam

Privacy: Is Whois info used to help establish an admin relationship between sites in addition to host/IP etc ?
Hi Do you think Google looks at WhoIs details as a contributing factor to establishing an adminsitrative relationship between two domains (in addition to being hosted on similar hosts/IP blocks etc), and in regard to linkbuilding would having teh same whois details on both sites have a negative effect or be perfectly ok (if the sites are on different hosts/ip blocks) ? Also do you think whois privacy turned on has a negative effect on trust and subsequent seo ? Considering the answer to the above two questions: Do you think its a good or bad idea to have domain reg/whois ‘privacy’ turned on for a site of curated content relating to the project/primary sites niche, and linking to this site for contextual link benefit ? Im building out a site of curated content that i want to perform well in-itself as well as providing backlink benefit to the primary site but worried if they both have same whois details will cause seo problems or would that only be if also had same host/ip footprint ? Should i enable whois privacy, use a different address for reg, or actually make a point of using the same whois details for transparency ? All Best

Canonicalization help
Hi Moz Community, If I have two different sub-category pages: http://www.example.com/rings/anniversary-rings/
Technical SEO | | IceIcebaby
http://www.example.com/wedding/anniversary-rings/ And the first one is ranking for all KWs, should I add a rel=canonical to the second URL or leave it since it's slightly different? Or should I try and create different unique content for the second URL? Everything in terms of content is the same on both these pages except for the URLs, which aren't that different to begin with. Thanks for your help! -Reed0 -
Duplicate Content: Canonicalization vs. Redirects
Hi all, I have a client that I recently started working with whose site was built with the following structure: domain.com
Technical SEO | | marisolmarketing
domain.com/default.asp Essentially, there is a /default.asp version of every single page on the site. That said, I'm trying to figure out the easiest/most efficient way to fix all the /default.asp pages...whether that be 301 redirecting them to the .com version, adding a canonical tag to every .asp page, or simply NOINDEXing the .asp pages. I've seen a few other questions on here that are similar, but none that really say which would be the easiest way to accomplish this without going through every single page... Thanks in advance!0 -
4 websites on same IP crosslinking in footer
Hello, we have 3 separate websites and domains. Industry directory websites Industrialdomain.com DA:62, 8yrs old Medicaldomain.com DA:45, 8yrs old and Hosptalitydomain.com DA:24, 1yr old These sites are cross linked site-wide via footer links and the sites flow a substantial amount of well converting traffic between each other. How does Google see this? Could we place the links in a better position than the footer? The links should be site-wide as we receive many deep visits to these sites from organic and PPC sources. Our traffic is down 20% post penguin, we are going through the backlinks now and weeding out some iffy links but the site has never been forum spammed or anything even close to that. One other thing is that they are linked to with anchor text type links

How to solve issues regarding canonicalization?
Today, I was searching for article which may help me in issues regarding canonicalization and found very interesting article on SEOmoz. I am facing issues regarding de-indexing of pages and down of organic search engine visits. I have done proper R & D and apply it very carefully. But, still my indexed pages and visits are going down. I have applied canonical tag to following pages. Narrow by search: http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?manufacturer=California+Umbrella Sorting: http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?dir=desc&order=position Pagination: http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?p=2 How can I improve my performance?
