Does the order of meta data matter ?
-
There are three questions here.
1/ Does it matter in which order you list the meta tags.? Title , Description etc.
2/ Should these be bang at the top of the head section or is it irrelevant as long as they are there?
Finally our generated site is written so that the output is in the following form:-
Would it be better to suppress the id= tag or move it to the end.
I have gut feel that this is detremental when it comes to some search engines but have not done any analysis.

I am enjoying every second. Some would call me sad!!

Yes, once you get back into doing it everything will come back to you quickly. Have fun!

Thanks, well maybe the fact that we have two different styles on the page one generated and one in the template should be addressed one with id= and one without.
Of course you are right on Title but we do have
It's a good ten years since I coded anything and I am just getting into the nitty gritty of things to get our site performing as it should. It won't take long before I am flying again!

Title is not a meta tag, as for the rest, order does not matter, they have to be somewhere in the head section. The id attribute can be used on any element in HTML5 and moving it to the end will make no difference. However in general it is best to keep a standard, consistent style. Why stir things up unnecessarily?

NO Meta description pulling through in SERP with react website - Requesting Indexing & Submitting to Google with no luck
Hi there, A year ago I launched a website using react, which has caused Google to not read my meta descriptions. I've submitted the sitemap and there was no change in the SERP. Then, I tried "Fetch and Render" and request indexing for the homepage, which did work, however I have over 300 pages and I can't do that for every one. I have requested a fetch, render and index for "this url and linked pages," and while Google's cache has updated, the SERP listing has not. I looked in the Index Coverage report for the new GSC and it says the urls and valid and indexable, and yet there's still no meta description. I realize that Google doesn't have to index all pages, and that Google may not also take your meta description, but I want to make sure I do my due diligence in making the website crawlable. My main questions are: If Google didn't reindex ANYTHING when I submitted the sitemap, what might be wrong with my sitemap? Is submitting each url manually bad, and if so, why? Am I simply jumping the gun since it's only been a week since I requested indexing for the main url and all the linked urls? Any other suggestions?

Rel=next and rel=prev meta tags
Hi,
Web Design | | RocoClothing
We have recently implemented the rel=next and rel=prev meta tags on the
category pages of our website. Currently for example if on page 2 we have the following: href="http://www.rococlothing.co.uk/boys/boys-suits/" />
href="http://www.rococlothing.co.uk/boys/boys-suits/?p=1" />
href="http://www.rococlothing.co.uk/boys/boys-suits/?p=3" /> For each page we are using the same canonical tag which is the url for
the 1st page in the category.
Is this the correct way to impletment it or should the canonical tag for
page 2 be as follows: href="http://www.rococlothing.co.uk/boys/boys-suits/?p=2" /> I have also seen some companies ommiting the canonical tag on pages
after page 1 and just using the prev and nexts. Could anyone advise as to what the ideal implementation would be for this? Regards

Fetch data for users with ajax but show it without ajax for Google
Hi, We have a thematic footer which shows similar pages links relevant to the search criteria made on a page. We want to fetch those footer similar links through ajax when users search on site but the links will be shown without using ajax when Google fetches those pages. We want to do this to improve our page load time. The links content & count will be exactly same in both cases whether Google fetches the search pages or user fetches those pages. Will this be treated as negative by Google, Can this have any negative affect on our rankings or traffic. Regards,

Wordpress Plugin To Capture Form Completion Data, Before Visitor Hits "Submit"?
Greetings MOZ Community: Visitors frequently start to enter contact information in the forms on our website, but then chicken out and don't hit the submit button. I noticed this watching the recordings of visitor web site visits using Mouse Flow. Is there a Wordpress Plugin that would allow us to capture data entered in forms, where the visitor does not finally hit the "submit" button? Obviously this would be very, very valuable as this scenario occurs in one out of three or four instances. Thanks!!!

Google result showing old Meta Title / Description even though page view source shows new info.
Hey guys! I'm struggling with why Google is ignoring my Meta Title / Description. I made a pretty drastic change to both about a week ago and on the results it hasn't changed. I'm on first page with several keywords and I think this weird caching is hurting me on where I'm at on the page. Thoughts / Ideas?

Missing Meta Description Tag - Wordpress Tag
I am going through my crawl diagonostics issues and I have lots of "Missing Meta Description Tags". However when I look at the url's they are Wordpress Tags, which do not have a meta description. Shall I just ignore these errors or should I find a way to add a meta description? Is it important?

Are my duplicate meta titles and descriptions an issue ?
HelloMy website http://www.gardenbeet.com has been rebuilt using prestacart and there are 158 duplicate title and meta descriptions being reported by google.My developer advised the following Almost all the duplicates are due to the same page being accessible at the root and following the category heading. e.g; /75-vegetable-patio-planter-turquoise.html
Web Design | | GardenBeet
/patio-planters/75-vegetable-patio-planter-turquoise.html This is hard-wired into PrestaShop. Was the Canonical module (now disabled) responsible for the confusion by not including the category name? The Googlebot shouldn't be scanning the root versions now. I don't believe this to be a serious issue but I'd recommend a second opinion from someone more SEO savvy just to be sure.Opinions??0
