How To Change Image Used In Business Knowledge Graph...

How can one change the image that Google shows in a business' knowledge graph in the SERPs?
And the image I am referring to is the one that typically appears to the left of the map within the knowledge graph box, above the business' name.
The current image that is being used in my client's case is an image that was uploaded in their Google+ My Business profile, but there doesn't appear to be any particular reason why that one was chosen (it wasn't the first or last image uploaded, nor is it selected as the profile picture).
As user-interaction increasingly becomes important in rankings, I would like to change this to something more attractive.

I would just remove the one photo that you don't want to see there and leave a bunch in that you would be ok with. That's what I'm doing. I've been scouring the internet to see what would make Google choose one over another but I can't seem to find anything. Weird…
The only other idea I had was maybe it is dependent upon what the image file is named?? Like if the image name is more relevant to the brand and search it would be chosen before something that was named something arbitrary, such as "logo-1.jpg"

So I too am aware of the "Map & Search Photos" section of GMB. In our case, one of the photos that was uploaded in this section is being used currently. However, there is no way of designating which one should be used as the main Knowledge Graph image on searches.
A lot of platforms use either the first or last image uploaded as the default image, but it appears the one that Google chose to use in our selection of photos we uploaded is one that was uploaded in the middle of all the others... in other words, it wasn't the first or last photo uploaded.
So in lieu of deleting everything and ONLY uploading the 1 photo you wish the knowledge graph to show (which isn't ideal), we are still left trying to figure out how to tell Google which image to use.

This is an interesting question… I did some exploring on my Google business page and researched what was showing up in the SERPs…turns out what's there isn't what I want either! So this is how I'm trying to fix it but I think it will take time to register changes…
On the left side drop down of my page I selected "My Business." On the dashboard there's two photos and next to it is a "+5" box that I assumed would bring me to all my photos when I clicked it. It brought me to a page with a pop up that said "Map & Search Photos… When a user searches for your business on Google Maps or Google Search, these photos will appear alongside the rest of your business information." It's here that you can add, edit, and delete what shows up!

Hi friends, I'm trying to work out what would the practice be for a business who is operating in different categories in terms of displaying those categories in Google My Business account. We have a client who is supplying both catering and cleaning products (both categories are core). In this case, listing those two categories in GMB would be alright or should I expect a negative impact on results related to both categories as we have chosen multiple categories? Seasonal Setting Options for Google My Business
Hi there, Not sure if anyone will have any insight but I have a seasonal business that I am closed for from September to March. I don't want to mark my business as "permanently closed" through Google My Business as I don't want my customers to think I've gone out of business. I've seen a few times through forums that you can change your business to temporarily closed, but I can't find the specifics on how to do this. Any insight, suggestion or resources would be great! Business Name Not Showing Up in Google's Maps
I have a client whose name in not currently showing up on Google maps. Their business location only shows once their name or related keywords are searched, but their business name does not show when you only look for it on the map regardless of how far zoomed in you are to the actual location. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or knows of a way to fix this. I have already contacted Google multiple times, and they told me that “business’ names are just randomly pulled”. The client is an HVAC store front business with good rankings and a fully optimized Google profile, so these reasons did not answer the issue. What To Do With Two Business Having The Same Name?
Hi friends, We have a client who is in a peculiar predicament... essentially his business and his biggest competitor share the same name. Officially on their business licenses they are differentiated by the year they were each established, but in all their marketing, on their website, and in the community they are both known by the exact same name. When the company name is searched for, the competitor shows up #1 organically with the map pin as well as in the knowledge graph, and our site shows up number 2 without any any map pin or Google+ page site link or anything. We thought we could differentiate ourselves by changing his Google+ page name to his official business name (with the date) and building a bunch of really good citations with that official business name, but we still haven't made a dent for his branded keyword, and our Google+ page site links aren't even showing up. Has anyone run into a situation like this and any suggestions?

Should my website link to my google business listing given that I already link from google business to my website ?
I have a website with individual Location Landing Pages for each of my Depots. I also have individual Google Local Business Listings for each of my depots. Should I have a link from my Website Location Landing Pages to the associated Google local Business listings or not ?... Given that I already have a link on my Google Business listing to the relevant Location Page on my website. I wasn't sure whether linking both ways would be more beneficial thus enforcing things better or whether it's not needed to link both ways . thanks Pete

Wrong Category Displaying Google Business Page?
Our firm keeps displaying "bankruptcy attorney" on google business page. Granted, we do that, as well as a variety of other services, but our primary category is "Personal Injury Attorney". I was told the categories are randomly selected, but I don't think that's true. Every time I've looked (or had other people look for us) on local, it displays as "bankruptcy attorney." What should I do? Is there a way to lock in the "Personal Injury Attorney" category, so it's the one that displays? Should I get rid of all the other categories except for "personal injury attorney?"
