Tracking 301 redirect traffic in Google Analytics

if I 301 redirect www.mywebsite.com to go to www.yourwebsite.com, how can I track the traffic in Google Analytics that is coming from mywebsite.com?? I don't think that's a referral traffic, is it?

This question + answer was helpful to me today.
It leads me to another question. If you do not tag the resolving URL in the redirect with UTM parameters, how would the traffic show up in Google Analytics?
Would it be considered "Direct"?

In your HTACCESS file (of the redirecting domain) where the existing redirect is located.

Is www.mywebsite.com >> www.yourwebsite.com/?utm_medium=301&utm_source=mywebsite.com correct?
Can I just switch the mywebsite and yourwebsite with the actual domains and implement it? Will it work?

Hi,
You won't be able to see that information in Google Analytics unless you tag the resolving URL in the redirect with UTM parameters. i.e. www.mywebsite.com >> www.yourwebsite.com/?utm_medium=301&utm_source=mywebsite.com

Why is Indeed.com traffic appearing as organic in Google Analytics?
A large number of sessions in my client's Google Analytics account appear to come from medium: organic and source:Indeed. Since I'm focused on SEO for this project, I'd prefer that Indeed be treated as referral traffic. Any ideas for fixing this issue? Google Analytics - Organic Search Traffic & Queries -What caused the huge difference?
Our website traffic dropped a little bit during the last month, but it's getting better now, almost the same with previous period. But our conversion rate dropped by 50% for the last three weeks. What could cause this huge drop in conversion rate? In Google Analytics, I compared the Organic Search Traffic with previous period, the result is similar. Will 301 redirects (Same Domain) show as referral traffic in Analytics?
For an eCommerce site we have 301'd legacy product pages to new product pages. Is all that traffic going to show up as referral traffic from our own domain in Google Analytics? If so, is there any way to preserve original source/medium info or will all the source/medium info be our own domain since there is a 301 redirect?

Hi folks A quick question in regards to setting up Google Analytics for a website with multiple languages on multiple domains. No Social Sources in Google Analytics - what am I doing wrong?

Custom Variables to track Vimeo plays on website with Google Analytics?
Hello Everyone, I'm trying to track how many times a Vimeo video is played on my site via GA. Does any of you have any knowledge of how can this be achieved? I've read the documentation and came up with this: After the iframe embed i insert this: Of course the GA is loaded in the header. Does not work, at least i cant see anything in analytics. Google Analytics: how many visits from country Google domains?
Hello, I manage a site with visitors from many different countries. With Google Analytics, it is normal to see the number of visitors from each search engine. However, I would like to identify the number of visitors from each Google-search contry domain. How many visitors from Google.com? How many from Google.co.uk. And from Google.co.zm? And so on. Anybody knows if this is possible and if yes, how can it be done? Thank you in advance, Dario
