Back links from seller review platforms
-
I did a back link research on one of our competitors and saw a back link from resellerratings.com listed as back link from a high authority website.
My question is do any of these review platforms shopper approved, resellerratings, or trust pilot gurantee a do follow back link if i create an account with them? if so, which one?

Hi Swiftech buy
As far as I can see resellerratings.com is a dofollow backlink so it would add to the overall weight of backlinks you would be looking for, Trustpilot is nofollow. (Just go to the page right click>view page source and look for the link)
If I was starting a new campaign on a brand new site with 1 DA I would look for a wide range of varied backlinks as possible which would include getting in local directories, local/national (if you can) news sites, suppliers, partners and maps. Rand did a Whiteboard Friday on this a while back.
Watch this for advice on getting those first 50 backlinks:

And this on the value of nofollow
https://moz.com/blog/seo-value-nofollow-links
My advice is, don't sign up with a review site just because of one dofollow backlink. (Finally, yes the backlink is created when you sign up with them)

hi nigel
thanks for the swift reply
off course my SEO strategy is not just collecting back links
the reason i asked about do follow links specifically is because i am trying to understand the complete benefits of these 3 review sites i mentioned. but information on other benefits such as conversion rates, brand credibility and other benefits was much easier to find. So i already have my questions answered about many of these things you mentioned through my research but the back links question was something i couldn't find a specific answer for and as a site that just launched with a domain authority of 1. i don't have a budget to experiment so i have to collect as much info as possible and get as many FACTS as possible.
so even though your answer did allude to a do follow backlinks i would love a more specific answer
is the back link generated when i create an account automatically or when a customer leaves a review?

Hi Swiftech buy
You know, if you listen to the much-lauded SEO guru Eric Ward, who sadly passed away recently he will tell you that Google has never specifically stated that nofollow links are useless. That said I personally would rather garner backlinks from dofollow sites as long as they are acquired for free and organically.

If you are looking for a review site solely on the basis of them having dofollow backlinks then I would stop what you are doing right now as this is very far from the right attitude for link building.
Use a review site that will garner quality reviews from actual users, purchases or adopters of a product or service. Do not think of it as a big source of backlinks where all your backlink problems will be sorted in on fell swoop. They won't.
If the use of the review site leads to quality leads because people have read how great you are then great - it will increase engagement on your site which can only be good for SEO.
The actual SEO benefit of receiving a big number of backlinks from say, Trustpilot is relatively low and falling, as Google concentrates on quality content and user experience. Imagine 1000 backlinks from one domain, looks spammy right?
Do it, but do it organically and not because of the chance of getting a low-quality dofollow.
Regards
Nigel

Are links with space considered to be the same as links with %20?
I wonder if Google would consider those three links to be the same? http://www.example.com/test page.html http://www.example.com/test page.html http://www.example.com/test+page.html

What are inbound links worth after Panda and Penguin, since a site ranks for the NATIONAL keyword "outdoor furniture" with ONLY 7 INBOUND LINKS!?!?
ARE INBOUND LINKS TODAY ALMOST WORTHLESS??!!? After having been the KING of SEO, down to the toilet? Today I got a great sample from a fellow SEO professional showing a site, rockymountainfurniture.com rank for "outdoor furniture" with ONLY 7 INBOUND LINKS FROM 3 DOMAINS and a domain trust of 14!!!! ON A NATIONAL, VALUABLE, HIGH QUERY VOLUME KEYWORD!! I was stunned, but is this the "NEW SEO WORLD" we live in, so we should skip spending hundreds of hours on link building? There are over 32 different types of inbound links but this is much MORE than a radical change, this is turning SEO as it was up-side-down. Any input, thoughts, ideas?

"gimme links" = easy to fill out profile/personal reputation links that offer a do-follow anchor text flexible link
I'm doing some SEO for small niche service sites...and aside from niche directories and some light article marketing and local search directories (yelp, etc) there really isn't a budget for content generation. I really only have a budget for profile/submission links. What are some sites where you can quite easily fill out a personal profile with an anchor text variable link that may not be THAT juicy but will stick (i.e. not a spam/fake profile type of link, but something like Linkedin). I'll start with giving away 1 www.istockphoto.com Any others that aren't obvious?

Too Many Links???
SEOMOZ is telling me I have more than 100 links on quite a few of my pages, and I cant seem to find out what links they are finding. Like for instance on this page http://standupguys.biz/what-we-haul/commercial-junk-removal-services/computer-removal-recycling/ It is telling me that I have 117 hyper links (which is WAY too high). Can anyone explain to me where these are coming from, and how I can avoid this?? Please and thank you.

For a new site, does it matter which sites I get back links from first? I.e., are the first back links more important than later ones?
I've heard that when a site is new, the sources from which it gets its first back links are very important -- that the early links are more important for ranking than later links. Is this true. If so, what would be some good places to get these very first links? Thanks.

Copying Competitor's Link Backs?
Hello, Is it a viable idea to copy competitors link structure? Imagine we manage a new site with low page and domain authority. Is okay to use the Link Tool and filter domains that link back to our competitor and then work our way up from low ranking directories and related sites? Currently I am using RoboForm and trying to 'catch up' to a competitor in terms of link backs. Additionally, I've been reading articles about whether submitting to directories is good, but if we see they have alright domain and page authorities, does it make sense to apply to them when our competitors are in them? Much appreciated
