Updating Youtube Videos: Does this Reset Your Views to 0?

Hello Moz Community,
Our team is looking to update a few videos in our Youtube channel but are concerned that doing so will reset the current amount of views to 0 once the change has been made.
Would anyone happen to know if this happens or if the views remain the same? Also, how do the updates to the videos affect rank and visibility?

Hi there,
When you say update what exactly do you mean? Looking at Google's documentation it seems you can edit parts of a current video if you are:
- Making a few enhancements with the YouTube Video Enhancements software
- Adding cards to videos
- Changing title and meta data
If you re-upload a video I believe it will live on a new URL and the view counter will reset...
Anyone else have any other insights here?

My wistia videos are not being index by Google. Does anyone know what can be happening?
I have the wistia site map on my robots.txt file and I also manually submit the site map to google. It shows that my videos were submitted successfully but they are not being indexed. Thanks

Why does YouTube NOT appear in my backlinks?
Hello, I am looking through my backlinks in OSE and i have noticed that there are no inbound links from YouTube. I absolutely have a Youtube account that has links to my social profiles as well as my website, and all of my videos have links to inner pages of my site. Still, no links shown from Youtube. Do I need to use a CNAME for wistia video hosting?
I'm using Wisita for video hosting. My strategy is to allow other sites to embed videos to get links - I want the video linking back to my site not wistia or the embeding site. Do I need to use the Wistia CNAME or is a wistia subdomain acceptable?

Video SEO - Why are my videos not being indexed?
Hello All, I work on a site that has a lot of videos. The trouble is none of them are ranking. Here is an example of a page with a video on. If you click the play button you will see But none of these videos are being indexed, as you can see here. Is it because these videos are just mp4 files, rather than being embedded players (like SEOmoz use for instance)? Would embedding videos through Viddler / Wistia / Youtube etc help?
