Backlinks coming from websites we've built - Good or bad?

Hi everyone, I'm just doing a backlink audit of our newly relaunched site and saw that we have about 9,000 backlinks. Unfortunately, we have neglected our own link building. About 8,000+ of these links are from the websites we have built - sitewide footer links. These are also exact match anchor texts i.e. website by Bambrick Media. Because of that, our referring domain is only at 200+. Is this bad practice? Should we keep these backlinks / keep doing this for future sites we build? We feel like our backlink profile, the above in particular, is affecting our rankings and traffic. We're not ranking very well for our keywords. Compared to our competitors who have a quarter or less of the backlinks we have, they're ranking better, have more organic keywords, and are getting more organic traffic. Thanks in advance.

Links from my Own Blog to my Own Website and Link Scheme

Hi There, I use my own blog to give advices and offer information related to my business service. Of course in terms of SEO my blog is useful not only to expand my brand presence but also to acquire long-tail traffic. I use to insert a maximum of one link with a relative matching anchor text in every article of my blog pointing to my own webpage. Said that, the questions are as follows: Am I involuntarily participating in a Link Scheme with my blog? And If so, how many links can I send to my own webpage ? Shall I limit the number of links to a minimum? Thanks a lot for your advices.

Website/blog list to get quality backlinks?

Hi Everyone says quality backlinks increase ranking of your website. Can you please suggest a list of good websites and blogs from where I can get quality backlinks and how to do that. I have one person at my disposal full time to do manual commenting or any manual tasks for getting backlinks but how should i approach this problem (of getting backlinks). Where do I start. I need help regarding my new website.

Hello , I actually came here looking for help. I have always worked on old and aged websites, and they all have been huge success, may be because i really got familiar with those kind of websites.Now, i am working on a new long term project. Its a 8 months old website and i dont have a clue where do i start from. Its a technology website and i need to target traffic from britain. I have done whatever i could regarding Onpage SEO, but i simply have no idea where do i start from with link building. Backlinks in client website footers - best strategy?

I work for a web design & development agency. We are looking to rank for 'web design' and 'web development'. Typically we have a credit in the footer of every site we build (below). We have a lot of backlinks (>60,000) this way. web design and development by We link 'web design and development' and '<our name="">' separately.

Hello world 🙂 I'm looking for good UK article websites that are allowing anchor text links. Something like Ezine Aticles ... I found the SEOMoz 400top directories, but I'm searching for something that will give to me anchor text links.
