Is it true that cornerstone content should have at least 3,500 words? I've done some research and found that the recommended amount is between 2K-10k. Also, the content that we create/publish has a lot of references/citations at the end of each article. Does Google discern words from the main text and from the references? From a company perspective; would you recommend using a service like postloop to acquire additional blog comments through paying users.

I use a CDN
Hi there my sitemap is @ www.mobbly.com/sitemap.xml and images are stored on cdn.mobbly.com I have verified cdn.mobbly.com but as there is no sitemap apart from mobbly.com/sitemap.xml google has 3000 images in sitemap but only 289 indexed - was all when all were on the same domain any advice would be good

Does Google penalize for duplicate blog posts?
Occasionally, I get asked by another blogger if they can repost (in full) one of our blog posts on their blog as a guest post. I've always been under the impression that Google penalizes this type of behavior, but I haven't seen any evidence. Is this true?

A truly useful directory
Many directories on the net are just spammy annoyances, but some are quite useful, particularly when someone has really put some effort into a niche market. But how can Google look at that favorably? I would be willing to invest the time to put together a directory for our niche market, but if someone uses our directory, they would come to it, find the link they are searching for, then click and leave our site. They would visit one page on our site, and not stay very long. Is it possible to create and maintain a compelling directory and get credit for doing so? Of course, we would not have any spammy ads cluttering the directory, so that may help. Anything else? Best,

Premium Themes Use or Not?
I am just curious if any of you use the premium themes such as Genesis or Thesis, if so why did you move to those themes? Also what is the real benefit to one of those themes? I know both claim to help with SEO, but I can't really understand exactly how other than the code may be more efficient.
