@fassi34562 We are encountering a similar problem with our SEO Xidmeti . Despite generating several backlinks from various legitimate sources, the Moz tool fails to crawl or display these backlinks in its listings. However, other tools are able to recognize and show these backlinks regardless of when they were created.

Hey, this is exactly what I experience with cv formasi. During the first crawl of the campaign, the tool returned normal almost all links visible compared to GSC. Then it almost stopped working. I wonder if it is something to do with the number of pages set to crawled when you just create a campaing. From now on I always set the number of pages maximum, see if it works

Hi Bloggers123,
If you follow the directions in the thread above to create a Link Tracking List and add the specific URLs of any links you are aware of then the Moz crawler will crawl those links within a few days.

Hi, everyone. I am writing on behalf of Elseo and suffering from the same technical challenge. We are generating several backlinks from various sources (not spammy), but Moz tool does not crawl or show my backlinks on its listing. However, other tools does crawl and show no matter the date of the backing generated.

Hi fassi34562!
Such great information from Robin!
The good news is, that if you already know that links to your website exist and you know where they come from, you can actually help Link Explorer to find them more quickly by adding them to a Link Tracking List!
Adding a link to the Link Tracking List will tell the Moz crawler to check the page for links to the Target URL. Your target URL can be a specific page, or you can use the domain URL. The important thing to remember if you are using a Link Tracking List to confirm existing links is to use specific page URLs in your list - this will make sure the crawler goes right to the page where the link exists. Otherwise, it may take time for the crawler to eventually get to the exact page within the site as Robin explained above

Once the link is found (and as long as the page is not blocked) you will see the icons change in your list to show that the link has been found. You can also make notes so you have a record of any important information.
Here's a Guide to using Link Tracking Lists for all kinds of SEO tasks!!

Hope that helps!

Hi there, unfortunately we can't really rely on any one tool to know all of our backlinks, even Google!
When someone links to your site, they could be doing it from the New York Times, or they could be doing it from a tiny site which they just created. The only way any tool (Google, Moz etc.) can get a list of backlinks is by continually accessing a page, finding every link on that page, going to all the linked pages, finding all the links on those pages etc.
With something like the New York Times, these tools know the site, they know to keep coming back to check every so often, so it's more likely they identify the link going to your site. With a tiny site someone has just created - it's much harder for these tools to even know the site exists, never mind know the specific page on that site which is linking to yours. Even if a tool has a massive database of the internet, there are trillions of web pages and no one database will have a record of them all.
The next best thing is for us to use as many tools as we can to get as complete a picture of the issue as we can. I often try to check;
- Moz
- Google Search Console (this will only give you the first 1K)
- AHrefs
- SEMRush
- Majestic SEO.
You'll need to dedupe the different lists but between them, they should stand a better chance of finding backlinks to your site. If they don't find anything then it's likely that the pages linking to your site are either quite out-of-the-way or they are in some way blocked from crawlers.
In terms of tracking keywords, Moz does allow you to include a keyword list which it'll give you ranking information for over time, you can also track keywords in Stat (search "getstat"), and SEMRush and AHRefs will give you ranking information too.
Hope that helps!

I also notice that not all my back-links show in the MOZ reporting. Many do, but not all. I'd like to know all of them so I can put any spamy ones in my disavow file.

Sudden spike in backlinks - should we disavow?
A kitchen remodelling firm in Australia has noticed a big increase in spammy backlinks to their website since April this year. Majestic shows that referring domains and backlinks during that period have gone up from 400 domains (10,000 links) to 1,070 domains (47,000+ links). About 100 are sitewide links. The vast majority are "follow" links directed at image files on the site - ending in .jpg. Ahrefs now shows the number one anchor text (23%) is a period (full stop) "." Most of the links come from .us domains, eg: cowboysr.us

alldpic.com Google Search Console isn't showing any of these links, there's no penalty on the site and there's been no noticeable change in rankings (if anything organic clicks went up over May, June, July) ... so we're wondering what action - if any - should be taken. Are these links likely to have a negative impact on the site and homepage? Should we disavow these links? Appreciate any advice. Thanks.0 -

How important is the originating country of backlinks?
How important is it that you gain backlinks from websites in the same country you're targeting? Scenario: You have a website targeting users in Japan. How important is it that backlinks to your website are from Japanese websites? Do you need a majority of links from Japanese websites to rank well, or will you do OK with 25% Japanese links and 75% links from other countries? According to Majestic, sites for popular Japanese brands like tsutaya.co.jp and seiyu.co.jp get more links from US sites than from Japanese sites.

How does Google treat multiple backlinks on the same page?
Hello mozCrew Just a quick yay or nay. We have an embeddable code on our site for customers who want to post our link on their website listed here: http://www.accupos.com/etc/embed-code-restaurants.php But in our link, there are actually 2 separate links, one branding link that says the name of our company, AccuPOS, and another link which targets a specific target keyword "Restaurant POS Software". My question is, does Google only give credit for the branding link, since it is listed FIRST? Or will we get double credit? Is this a good or bad practice, and what would you recommend? Thank you! Creating Backlinks On Behalf of Client
I'm on my first SEO project with a law firm. I'm at the stage where I am doing competitive backlink research on other law firms that my client gave me. I saw a blog site called typepad. It has a high domain authority so I was going to recommend to my client that they set up an account and blog away! Since it's a law firm, I am not qualified to start blogging on behalf of my client and I know they are extremely busy so now I have to "ride" my client to get busy and start creating content. I feel like I want to do more for them on the blog side to keep things going but not having a law background, probably not doable. Question: Do most SEO's do the blogging for their clients, farm it out or keep pushing their clients to do it? I also want them to sign up with articlebase but the same thing is going to happen. I have to push them to write articles. I guess this is my job? -Bob

Should we BackLink to Guest Post ?
Hi, I have been actively doing guest blogging for last few weeks . But the page authority , moz Rank and moz Trust of my guest posts appear 0 as those posts have their own pages on blogs with snippets of posts on home page. I wanted to ask if i should backlink to my guest posts to increase the authority, mR and mT of pages. Those posts are already appearing as backlinks in webmaster tools but if i backlink to my posts to increase mR and mT, then will it also increase the juice passed by backlinks in those posts to landing pages on my site ? Thanks,

Frustrated with spammy backlinks from competitors
I've only been doing SEO for my company for the last month and I've made some headway but what is really frustrating me right now is a couple of competitors that have OBVIOUS spammy links ranking in the number 1,2,3 stops all over the board for the keywords i'm going for. One competitor in particular has anchor text links EVERYWHERE that make absolutely no sense...junk like... "I have never been more saddened by anything in my life than when my grandfather got cancer. I told my uncle he needed to buy some auto insurance. I really like pork." I mean, these links are the pages with the most page authority and page rank out of all of the ones they have...and I'd venture to say that almost all of their backlinks are like this...well, half of them are just random links with good anchor text on the sidebar of a bazillion spam websites (diapers, toys, fake blogs, etc.)...while i have about 3k links and most of my top competitors have about 5k links...these guys have over 33k. Worse yet, when I look at something like Alexa rank, they have pretty high overall traffic rank but it shows traffic rank in MX (mexico) instead of the US...these guys only sell in the US! I mean, they're black hat if I've ever seen such a thing and they rank superbly on all keywords. What can I do to compete with this junk?
