Is it worth buying an entry on Wikipedia-type sites?
-
Recently I've come across a few websites offering (for a fee) to research, write and publish an entry on the likes of Wikipedia, Citizendium or Wikitia - I thought this might be helpful when it comes to marketing and link building for a brand or individual.
Purchasing guest blog posts is a standard way to obtain a high domain authority in-context backlink, but I wondered if purchasing an entry on one of these human edited encyclopedias would be as effective, better or not worth the money?
It costs quite a bit more than guest posting and blog outreach, but on the other hand they are authoritative websites that also include backlinks.
Any thoughts would be most welcome.

@JCN-SBWD Even if the content is factually correct and verifiable, it may still be subject to removal or deletion if it doesn't meet the guidelines for notability, reliability, and verifiability. Additionally, paying for a listing on these websites may be seen as a violation of their policies and could potentially harm your reputation.
In my opinion, it's better to focus on creating high-quality content and building organic backlinks through outreach and relationship building. This may take more time and effort, but it's a more sustainable and ethical approach to SEO that will benefit your brand or individual in the long run.

No. Writing for Wikipedia is a great way to share information. BUT: If your company qualifies, chances are someone will write the article for free. No one will give you a guarantee that the purchased article will remain on the site. I'm for quality content

I would only buy it in order to actually rank with that specific content on Wikipedia or the others. So: Just as you could rank with an article on linkedin that is pickedup by Google.
This would only be helpful and sustain longer period of time if it actually is great content, and they do have a solid reason to link to you. And the visitors have a solid reason to want to know more. The link to your website will NOT have link value to your website as far as google is concerned. They are nofollow links.
A company could also decide to get a wikipedia page in order to educate. To give an in dept article about something relevant that you have a benefit from it's adoption. Like bluetooth, wifi 6, gluten free beer.
You would only do it in order to get the few clicks on that link that is on that page or follow up searches..
For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Coca-Cola_Company is a great page that could result in actual traffic.

@Kateparish I appreciate that, but if all the content that's paid to be added to a Wiki site is factually correct and verifiable via independent websites would it be worth paying for a listing - could it help with SEO?
-
Even if you manage to get a paid entry published on Wikipedia, Citizendium or Wikitia, there is no guarantee that it will remain there permanently. These websites have strict guidelines on notability, reliability and verifiability, and any content that violates these guidelines can be removed or deleted at any time.

How i can Reduce Spam score of my website
Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to the community for some advice on improving my website's spam score. I've been using the Moz Spam Score Checker and my website, sngplbill.pk, currently has a score of 7%. While this isn't exceptionally high, I'd like to take steps to bring it down as low as possible, ideally under 1%. One factor I've identified that might be contributing to this score is a number of backlinks pointing to my site has a much higher spam score (over 80%). (screenshot attached)sngplbillscore I'm wondering if the community has any recommendations for how to address this situation. Here are some specific questions I have: Does disavowing the backlinks from spamy site seem like the best course of action?

What general strategies can I implement to improve my website's overall SEO health and reduce its spam score?

these sites where you have to pay to generate backlinks?
After opening a site here, we created a post containing a backlink and discovered a company with a top exposure. After opening the site in the same way, I created a post that included a backlink, but after a few days my account was suspended. By any chance, are these sites where you have to pay to generate backlinks? Of course, each site has a different policy, but my account is suspended every time.

When to re-write and redirect a blog url?
What are best practices for rewriting (and then redirecting) blog URLs? I refresh old blog posts on our blog every month and many of them have URLs that are too long or could be improved. However, many of them also already get decent organic traffic and I don't want to lose traffic due to a URL redirect. Are there any best practices or "rules" I can follow when deciding whether to re-write and redirect blog URLs?

Plagiarized Site Effecting Google Rankings
Can someone provides insights on a de-indexing example? I have gone through the depths of Google lack of support and requesting duplicate content flags, so no avail. Here's the scenario: Client had a competing SEO provider try to earn his business. In doing so, he copied word for word our blog that we have been producing content on over the last 5 years. He also integrated Google reviews in the structured data on this new URL. Well, fast forward 1-2 months later, our rankings started to drop. We found this 100% plagiarized site is taking away from our keyword rankings on GMB, and is no and Google search, and our site GMB is now only displaying on a branded name search as well as our search traffic has dropped. I have identified the plagiarized, duplicated content, being tied to our GMB as well, as the source of the problem. Well, I finally obtain ed control of the plagarized domain and shut down the hosted, and forwarded the URL to our URL. Well, Google still has the HTTS version of the site indexed. And it is in my professional opinion, that since the site is still indexed and is associated with the physician GMB that was ranking for our target keyword and no longer does, that this is the barrier to ranking again. Since its the HTTPS version, it is not forwarded to our domain. Its a 504 error but is still ranking in the google index. The hosting and SSL was canceled circa December 10th. I have been waiting for Google to de-index this site, therefore allowing our primary site to climb the rankings and GMB rankings once again. But it has been 6 weeks and Google is still indexing this spam site. I am incredibly frustrated with google support (as a google partner) and disappointed that this spam site is still indexed. Again, my conclusion that when this SPAM site is de-indexed, we will return back to #1. But when? and at this point, ever? Highlighted below is the spam site. Any suggestions? Capture.PNG

SEO question about lots of outbound links
I'm considering adding a directory page to one of my websites that lists local groups from all around the world. I haven't kept up with SEO in a long time, but I recall (many) years ago that having a lot of outgoing links and very few (if any) inbound connections was a terrible thing. Is this still the case, or have search engine algorithms figured out that this can be beneficial to site visitors? What effect will adding a page like this have on my SEO?
