Sitefinity vs Wordpress

We're looking for a new CMS and out development company suggested Sitefinity. I've had great success with Wordpress. Is either system better. I love worpdress but have had no experience with Sitefinity. Thanks!

I have never used either, but from a developer point of view Telerik (makers of Sitefinity) are excellent, telerik are from Bulgaria (Bulgarians are big on programming). I cant speak highly enough of them. I have done plenty of work on Telerik MVC Controls and have been very impressed,
Sitefinityis ASP.NET, where Word press is PHP, I do know that they are looking to move sitinfinity to ASP.NET MVC, MVC is superior to ASP.NET Webforms, and far superior to php. MVC is also very SEO friendly, it has a clean separation of concerns giving very clean html, no post backs or viewstate, Already they are using the MVC Routing engine that gives full control over urls, no messy file names or parameters, you can make your URL say whatever you want, it does not have to match your folders.
If you intend to further develop your site in the future, I would go with Telerik

wordpress ALL THE WAY. unless its a specific or unique situation where sitefinity might be more useful (which i can't think of).
Wordpress is by far the best CMS to code/design for AND it is the most user friendly for our clients. The learning curve is much smaller on WP than on any other CMS i have used. and i have use A LOT of horrbile ones before.

I agree with William and Malachi as well.
WordPress is the world's number one CMS. It is free, offers the most extensions and support, is easy to use and you are familiar with the software. If you ever need work done on your site, there are plenty of experienced developers who can help.
I have reviewed about a dozen CMS solutions and have never heard of Sitefinity. It may be a great solution but even if it was, your selection of themes, extensions, updates, etc. will never be close to what WP offers. If your current developer left you for whatever reason, your list of experienced developers who can work with you would be severely limited.
My solution would be stick with WP unless you are provided with an exceptionally compelling reason to move. If that is offered, also be sure to understand what WP offers that Sitefinity does not. The main reason I would use another CMS rather then WP is because WP is best for blogs and simple sites. If you require more features, my preference is for Joomla.

Agree with William. WP is pretty much king of the castle right now in terms of CMS. I also recommend taking a look at joomla and drupal. I personally love WP and recommend it to everyone, but some projects really do require different strengths. I'm also a big fan of opensource.

Would really depend what the actual website is going to be. Bare in mind Sitefinity isn't free so it's likely that the development company will make some cash by selling you on that system.
Personally, I would never go with it but don't know much about it. However with Wordpress you've already used it and it's constantly being updated with tonnes of new (free) features. So I would recommend you test SiteFinity out but would be sceptical about why the web development company is offering you that.

Why Product pages are throwing Missing field "image" and Missing field "price" in Wordpress Woocommerce
I have a wordpress wocommerce website where I have uploaded 100s of products but it's giving me error in GSC under merchant listing tab. When I tested it show missing field image and missing field price. Backlink quality vs quantity: Should I keep spammy backlinks?
Regarding backlinks, I'm wondering which is more advantageous for domain authority and Google reputation: Option 1: More backlinks including a lot of spammy links Option 2: Fewer backlinks but only reliable, non-spam links I've researched this topic around the web a bit and understand that the answer is somewhere in the middle, but given my site's specific backlink volume, the answer might lean one way or the other. For context, my site has a spam score of 2%, and when I did a quick backlink audit, roughly 20% are ones I want to disavow. However, I don't want to eliminate so many backlinks that my DA goes down. As always, we are working to build quality backlinks, but I'm interested in whether eliminating 20% of backlinks will hurt my DA. Thank you!

Should I use a canonical URL for images uploaded to a blog post in Wordpress?
Hi, I have a wordpress website that has articles/news posts witch contain imagery. I've noticed that in the Media Library, when you upload an image to a blog post it generates a new permalink ...article-name/article-image-01.jpg I have Yoast SEO plugin and have the option to set a canonical URL for this image. Should I point it back to the actual article? Thanks for any helpers with this.

Why add .html to WordPress pages?
A site I may take over has a plugin that adds .html to the pages. I searched online but I’ve only found how to add it rather than why to add it. Is it needed? If I remove it, I’ll have to be careful with SEO / indexed pages and redirects. The site is running 3.x.x and 90% of the plugins have not been updated in over 5 years including this one. Before I update to 4.7.x, I am trying to understand the landscape (pros / cons) on why something could be used and if I need to find a suitable replacement for it.

CNAME vs 301 redirect
Hi all, Recently I created a website for a new client and my next job is trying to get them higher in Google. I added them in OSE and noticed some strange backlinks. To my surprise the client has about 20 domain names. All automatically poiting to (showing) the same new mainsite now. www.maindomain.nl www.maindomain.be

... Some of these domains have backlinks too (but not so much). I suggested to 301 redirect them all to the main site. Just to avoid duplicate content. But now the webhoster comes into play: "It's a problem, client has only 1 hosting account, blablabla...". They told me they could CNAME the 20 domains to the main domain. Or A-record them to an IP address. This is too technical stuff for me. So my concrete questions are: Is it smart to do anything at all or am I just harming my client? The main site is ranking pretty well now. And some backlinks are from their copy sites (probably because everywhere the logo links to the full mainsite url). Does the CNAME or A-record solution has the same effect as a 301 redirect, from SEO perspective? Many thanks,

Wordpress Pods and Wordpress SEO by Yoast
Hi I am optimising a new site that has been built in Wordpress using Pods. The Yoast Wordpress SEO plugin is not recognising any content on the site - has anyone any ideas on how to get around this - does it matter - is it the plugin that is at fault rahter than the set up of the site?

Wordpress categories causing too many links/duplicate content?
I've just added categories to my wordpress site and some of the posts show in several of the categories. Will this cause me duplicate content problems as I want the category pages to be indexed? Also as I add more categories I'm creating more links on the page. They can't be seen to the user as I have a plugin that creates drop down categories. When I go to 'view source' though all the links are there so google will see lots of links. How can I fix the too many links problem? And should I worry about duplicate content issue?

Exclude Child URLs from XML Sitemap Generator (Wordpress)
Hi all, I was recommended the XML Sitemap Generator for Wordpress by the very helpful Keith Bloemendaal and John Pring - however I can't seem to exclude child URLs. There is a section Exclude items and a subsection Exclude posts. I have tried inputting the URLs for the pages I don't want in the sitemap, however that didn't work. So I read that you have to include a list of "IDs" - not sure where on earth to find that info, tried the page name and the post= number from the URL, however neither worked. I hope somebody can point me in the right direction - and apologies, I am a Wordpress novice, and I got no answers from the Wordpress forums so turned right back to SEOmoz! Cheers.
