Well, the robots.txt looks find here. Could you try to fetch any of the blog page/post as google in the search console and share the screenshot here?

Also, to cross check the robots.txt (which looks fine though), you have robots.txt tester in search console where you can put any blog page/post to check if bots can crawl it. Please share a screenshot of that as well.

On a separate note, the sitemap.xml link mentioned in the robots.txt (http://www.keukensduitsland.nl/sitemap.xml) is broken. Fix that as well.

Generally, people advice to use CDN for serving static content very fast on your site, that helps you improve your page speed and hence, there it adds value from SEO & UX perspective.

Now, the definition of CDN will help you understand how exactly it can help you improve your page speed. So, here you go:

"A CDN is essentially a network of geographically dispersed servers. Each CDN node (also called Edge Servers) caches the static content of a site like the images, CSS/JS files and other structural components. Trying to upload multiple keywords at a time with their different Tags. But here i can upload the keyword one by one also i am not able to associate tags with the keyword.

No! Don't "nofollow" them. Why do you want to nofollow them now?

You're not spamming here, inter-linking from flyout-navigation/header/footer/on-page-navigation/breadcrumbs are the natural ways people use for internal-linking, that won't hurt you for sure.

Good observation, I missed the canonical part somehow. So, google is indexing the canonical URLs here which doesn't have /blog/ in it and that's the problem. Have a look at the indexed page for this particular instance here. Non /blog/ instance is indexed, which will take you to its /blog/ version with wrong canonical URL.

Solution: Either remove the canonical URLs on these pages to point them to the current page itself. And yeah! As rightly mentioned by Dirk, do a proper /blog/ page linking from the blog page and other pages from where you're linking these articles.

Completely agreed with Dana on this. I recently helped a startup fixing this problem by setting a redirect rule in their nginx configuration to redirect all the URLs with trailing slash to desired version. PFB the required rule if you're using nginx:

rewrite ^/(.*)/$ /$1 permanent;

If you're on LAMP/MAMP/WAMP tech stack, find the apace equivalent of this rule and place it in your apache config file. Hope that helps!

This is a problem related to site's architecture i.e you need to expose only those pages to bots that you want to and while doing this, make sure you're not ending up with keyword cannibalization wherein you have more than one pages targeting a single keyword like in this situation.

So, its always better to take this call in the start whether you want to expose tag pages to bots or not? They might be serving exactly same content as your category pages for some keywords. As a result, you might end up with duplicate content and keyword cannibalization situations.

Short answer to your question, yes canonical should be fine here if the content is almost the same and targeting the same keyword. I would recommend you to not do this for individual pages, rather find a pattern and do it for all to avoid the same problem again.

P.S noindexing a subset of pages is not harmful for sure.

Well, this is probably 1 of the most interesting issues an SEO can come across with. Google is showing different cached version in different countries. For me, that's strange too. Is that usual thing?

Here's the answer to your question. Yes, they do index, and index well.

You can check all the indexed pages for your domain here: https://www.google.co.in/search?q=site:realhomes.inspirythemes.biz/listing.

Click on the drop-down button and click on "Cached" to see its google cached version. Then, click on "Text-only version" to see what exactly bots are able to see on your page.

I would like to add something on top of what John Cross mentioned here. I would suggest the following URL for this particular use case:

www.salshoes.com/shoes/canvas, and will keep "Men" & "Women" as on page filters.

Reason: You'll probably be looking to target this page for "canvas shoes" which is high volume search term than "canvas shoes for men" or "canvas shoes for women" which can be considered as secondary keywords for this page. Now, having "Men" and "Women" as filters on this page, helps you avoiding cannibalization issues as well i.e the situation when many of your pages (www.salshoes.com/men/shoes/canvas, www.salshoes.com/women/shoes/canvas, www.salshoes.com/kids/shoes/canvas etc.) will be fighting for a click of a user searching for "canvas shoes".

P.S its always good to think about site architecture and all the edge cases while thinking about such meta level things. Here, considering "Men" and "Women" as a category or a filter matters a lot.

Well, not sure about how exactly you'll be putting these links on your product and how well bots will be able to crawl them. AFAIK, bots are smart enough to understand JS these days but upto some extent.

Anyways, if you're planning to build such awesome tool (as you're trying to explain), you should definitely go for it for the better UX. I hope you'll be having nice and useful content on your listing pages anyways (in well crawlable format). So, the problem is about inter-linking/exposing them to bots, right? XML sitemap, HTML sitemap, dynamic footer etc. can help you with that

If you're planning to switch to the new domain, I would recommend you to not close the existing domain but redirect all the pages to their equivalent pages on the new domain. Please note, relevance is the most important factor here from SEO perspective. Gradually, all your indexed pages will be replaced by their corresponding new pages (ranking might not be the same though).

Also, keep an eye on search console for the domain A as well. This will give you an idea on how many pages are still breaking and then you can quickly fix them or, redirect to their corresponding new pages.

P.S Of course you'll loose your domain authority here, but if its a business decision, this is how you can handle it the best way I believe.

Well said Brian. The solution I suggested was for a scalable system which is not dependent on the number of product. IMHO, one shouldn't think about 5-15 products while working on a project like URL structure even if you're planning to not scale that much.

P.S Thinking about a scalable solution won't hurt you anyways, it'll rather add value if you're planning to scale at any time.

That's a very valid concern. Well, I think the primary reason behind this whole change is google's algorithm updates. Google has become very very smart these days and just pushing content might not get you good ranking these days.

And, may be when you published that content which is not a very common topic for the bloggers, there might have not enough decent quality content on the web (I'm not sure, just thinking aloud).

IMO, linking from the external sources or inter-linking adds a lot of value from SEO perspective. Here, you're planning to not even consider these things for ranking. The SEO game has changed completely in last few years and today, its very difficult to rank in search engines without optimizing for them at all.

I don't know how exactly you're planning to promote this content, whether you're incorporating UGC in your product or your basic SEO elements are optimized (meta tags, header tags, url structure etc.) while doing this experiment. But trust me, this is going to be a very very tough game. Good luck for it.

1. "Since launching my new website design - www.advanced-driving.co.uk I am not convinced Google is seeing all the content on the page. I took a long extract of text and did a search on Google and nothing was found. Also although in the search results for "advanced driving course" I can see the new title tag, the snippet isn't showing"

   => Here, you can check the cached version of any given page by googling "cache:<url-you-want-to-check>" and then clicking on "Text Version".</url-you-want-to-check>

2. As a scroll down I can see the URL changes i.e:
   www.advanced-driving.co.uk
   then: http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-3
   then: http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-4
   then: http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-5

   => This is absolutely fine as far as canonical URL is there, and its there in your case. So, good to go

No problem. Do share screenshots of product pages and the URLs (once available) here. Will be able to help you out with this. Fixing is using canonical or meta robots is not a time taking solution to implement in general and hence, can be fixed at the last moment (before going live) as well. So, this can be parked for now.

I would suggest you to buy the .com domain if its available. Using a country specific domain to target international market is not a good idea. If .com isn't available, you can think about buying country specific domains to target various countries.
